I’m not sure what MEW is

MEW is MyEtherWallet, and it is what most people use to hold their tokens or any other ERC20 (I think?) coin. I believe any coin based on Ethereum, and potentially even others has long as it fits the protocol can be held on your MEW addresses. I'm not sure how many or which coins you're interested in would fall into this category, but I am unsure of any other quality services other than CoinPayments and MEW. I don't think Americans can use CoinPayments though, so there's always something to consider.

That makes sense.

I enjoy how helpful the crypto community is, it is refreshing to be on the Internet and have others actually try to help!

This has been very helpful, thank you all

Would you mind explaining what is making you switch from NiceHash? If you believe you will be making more profit I would ask you to reconsider, or at least report back what ends up being your personal case. I've found that NiceHash saved people a lot of trouble when it comes to altcoin conversion and mining in general.

That being said, I'll give a shameless shill promotion for Coinpayments. I might be a little bit biased, but they're a solid choice for what you're looking for. Would MEW not accomplish what you are looking for? When you say that you've looked into those couple services, does that mean they are an option or that you have ruled them out?

I’m switching because I want to mine some coins directly for fun!

I have no delusions that it will be simple to make a larger return than NH provides me.

I like experimenting and learning, I enjoy this the most through experiencing things.

I’m not sure what MEW is

Got it.

So is the best current option to download the core wallets on an external hard drive and bookmark the addresses?
No, what I meant was to find your addresses on a block explorer online and bookmark the page. I do this with pretty much all my addresses on my Android phone and it works just fine. There may not be such services for some more obscure coins, but in my experience nearly every coin has an online block explorer. By doing this you don’t need to download anything and you’ll be able to see your wallet balances from any device capable of launching a browser.

Hey thanks for all of the advice!

I have a question on your last statement.  When you say to find your address on the block explorer, how are you creating that address originally?

I may be missing something but I can’t understand why a company like Trezor or Ledger hasn’t made a cold storage mining wallet that can hold a bunch of different Alt coins that has an app that allows you to view (and not send) tokens/coins.

Am I missing something that would prevent this from being possible and secure?

If this has been covered my bad, I couldn't find an answer.

I have a few mining rigs and am switching to mining coins through pools rather than using NiceHash.

My question:

Is there a wallet platform that will store multiple different Alt coins that I can mine to?  It would be nice not to have to download all of the different core wallets of the coins I want to mine.

Wish List
1. I hold my public keys.
2. Low fees and Low minimum deposit amounts.
3. Decent UI
4. iOS Platform (not a requirement, I am good with setting it up on my desktop, but it would be nice to be able to view it on my phone)

I am relatively new to direct mining and would appreciate any help.

What I have looked into:
1. Jaxx
2. Coinpayments
3. Exodus

Thanks!!
