1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: October 17, 2019, 11:23:57 AM
God, I just stumbled across this thread again 5 years later. Can't believe how close I was to making an order. I feel bad for everyone who got scammed, Alpha Technology sure has taught me to be more cautious in the crypto space...

So this coin is dead before starting, right?

With that in mind, a 30% BTC upfront preorder isn't that much to risk, and if the company seems to go south.. you're out 30% instead of 100% other companies over the past couple of years have demanded.

I disagree, they ask for the payment of the remaining 70% 8-10 weeks before shipment, so you'll lose 100% if it's a scam

They are in a disgusting area of Manchester, not going to lie, its horrible. haha.

Never been to Manchester, only to Birmingham once. Saw lots of similar areas there so I assumed it must be normal... Wink

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke to a guy a few weeks back called 'IamRichard' as he also had a thread in regard to Alpha-T.

The reason I messaged him is because this company is about a 15min drive from where i am in Manchester and I am keen to check them out and actually speak to the owner and understand time frames before committing any money.

Does anyone actually have any realistic idea of timescales?

Please let me know, also, if there are any other manchester locals, make yourself known!

Thanks

Sev

Well, if this turns out to be a scam, you can probably collect lots of BTC donations by going there and delivering some punches Wink

No but seriously, please go and talk to them, I'd love to know what they have to tell you.

Well, after a little research, I'm definitely not buying: https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/alpha-technology-(int)

3 guys called Mohammed Akram with different middle names and birth dates? I'm not buying it...

Interesting.........

Mohammed Akram terminated his directorship of Alpha on the 29th of December, then reissued it as Mohammed Jafar Akram , using Alpha's company address as his home address. Looking at the history of this company They have only been around as Alpha since 22nd July.
The company director has changed his name 3 times, Mohammed Akram, Mohammed Jafar Akram, Mohammed Mubasher Akram. Its moved addresses twice and asked to be stuck off. https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/Company/AllDocuments/alpha-technology-(int)

That's some shady shit.

such scam. wow.

Personally, I like the concept of Primecoin. It's not only mining for currency but also helps science and is CPU friendly. I hope it will gain popularity and acceptance, I'll keep my cores mining a few of these when they're idle Smiley
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to monitor your mining rig on: December 17, 2013, 09:24:53 PM
Hey,

I suggest you try BAMT, a linux distro that you can boot from USB. It's available for BTC and LTC and has built in web monitoring so that you can access the rig's stats from your PC's browser.
