1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asic miner for Ethereum... why not ? on: May 11, 2017, 12:39:12 AM
It just occurred to me that the reason why ETH plans to switch to proof of stake is to discourage ASIC research and development. It seems likely they never plan to implement PoS, rather to just keep mentioning it.  If this is true, it's a very peculiar security model.
2  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptowatch - real-time charts and personalized trading analysis on: October 16, 2015, 08:47:54 PM
Hello!  Thanks for all your hard work, Cryptowatch is one of the best trading tools out there!

I have a simple, probably stupid, question: Is there an easy way to draw perfectly horizontal lines?

And a couple feature requests in no particular order:

-I think it would be better to replace the time interval drop down for buttons of the different intervals side by side, or maybe have both.
-Higher pitched noise for alerts on the up side
-Option to suppress alert popups (only sound)
-If the experimental depth chart is on, can the numbers on the original depth chart be changed to show the total BTC amount at that point (rather than price)?
-Cumulative orders next to order book like wisdom

Thanks!

I guess I am still a newbie since I am such a lurker, but for what it's worth I nominate Sunny King for his work on energy efficient blockchains.

Hello,

Reddcoin on MintPal, Poloniex and Cryptsy has seen a very large volume increase in the last month.  In fact it is currently the most traded crypto on Cryptsy.  Do you have any plans to add it to bitcoinwisdom?

Thanks!

Minting has never been easier!

What if Dorians middle name is Satoshi?

What if his middle name is Prentice?
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Alt Coin is best to invest right now? on: February 20, 2014, 08:37:11 PM
I recommend Peercoin (PPC).  It is the strongest alt right with something new to offer in the crypto currency world: Proof-of-Stake minting.

-The major benefit over Bitcoin is it consumes zero energy compared to Bitcoin's proof of work...so there is no arms race to obtain the most hashing power possible.
-The network is more secure because the cost to attack the network is higher (as a percentage of market cap), in addition, the barrier to obtaining an amount of PPC reasonable for performing a 51% attack is not just money, other investors must be willing to sell you these shares.

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox manipulates Bitcoin price? on: February 09, 2014, 10:05:51 PM
Can't you effectively have a "hidden order" by using the API to check for a target price, then buy/sell as soon as you see an offer that matches?  Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by "hidden order"?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Transaction Scripts ...and HODLing on: December 19, 2013, 07:36:45 AM
I signed up yesterday to ask a question about bitcoin transaction scripts.  I never ended up posting because I decided I should do some more research first.  Then today I go sucked into the HODLING meme started over in the speculation thread which gave me some mild stomach pain from laughter.  I wanted to join in the fun but I am not allowed to post there yet....alas this post.  My intention is to write a transaction that can only be used as an input with the proper key after a the blockchain reaches a certain height.  That way I can send myself coins that are locked away until the block number is reached...A bullish savings account of sorts.  I am wondering how I might be able to write and test scripts.  Is there a test blockchain I can use?
