1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 💸{BOUNTY} Looking for Local Advisors/Marketers 💸 on: March 27, 2018, 01:53:47 PM
This seems like a cool project. Looking forward to seeing your whitepaper! Any idea when it will be up?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy or Sell...??? on: March 26, 2018, 04:02:34 PM
Unless you need money you should never panic sell when there is a market dip. The most important part is that you diversify your portfolio like with every investment. Market is very volatile because it's still experiencing growing pains. This means huge potential for both gains and losses so you need to be smart. Some years from now you likely won't be able to make that much money, but the market will be way more stable. Crypto is here to stay so I'd treat it more as a long term investment and hodl haha
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: France’s Finance Minister Plans ICO Regulations in Bid to Attract Crypto Startup on: March 26, 2018, 03:56:14 PM
The problem is that crypto is still in a wild wild west and although a couple of years ago everything was happening on the small scale right now everyone seems to be getting on the hype. Unfortunately, it leads to a lot of scams so it's good to regulate crypto - I think that there will be more and more smaller countries jumping in to be crypto-friendly. It's the big assholes (like China and US) that are gonna see it as a threat. European countries will more likely want to attract talent by being receptive to crypto.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 56% of ICOs fail and it's OK on: March 22, 2018, 01:55:21 PM
According to recent recearch, 56% of 2017 ICOs fail.

What research? Do you have a link? Publication? Something to back up this claim? I would be really interested to see it.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huawei Is in Talks to Build a Blockchain-Ready Smartphone on: March 22, 2018, 01:43:02 PM
I think that more companies should get on this. I wouldn't buy a huawei phone but someone if samsung or LG did it I would
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could run on EOS on: March 21, 2018, 02:24:42 PM
From what I can see people are really mixed about EOS. On one side Dan Larimer surely knows what he's doing. On the other hand each and every one of his projects is entangled in some sort of shady scheme like the possible rigging of the Steemit mining event.

Overall, I'm sure that he has a vision of what he wants blockchain to be, but I'm afraid that this future looks surprisingly hollow from the pure morality standpoint. I do hope that EOS can convince me that I'm wrong, but I just don't have the best feeling about this one.

As to Bitcoin running on EOS? There will be more and more platforms that will try to unify various blockchains. So I guess it's possible that EOS can be one of them.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People say think about the future of cryptocurrency. on: March 20, 2018, 08:40:43 PM
blockchain is here to stay that's for sure

as for the state of cryptocurrency... it depends on regulations in various countries. Some (like US) won't be very favourable and are already looking into a lot of disadvantageous regulations for utility tokens for example.

Smaller economies will likely be a lot more receptive because new tech means new talent and more advantages for their country (Switzerland, Japan).

I'm worried about illegal stuff stored on a distributed ledger that people might not know about and the regulators might come hard on in the future.
It's likely that the space will be very polarized for a while. But when some see threat, others see opportunity. Technological progress involves risk taking and blockchain has already changed the internet and it will continue to do so. Let's hope for the best!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter and Google joining war against crypto on: March 20, 2018, 07:35:46 PM
There are a lot of ICOs out there that are a total scam and there should be no ads because it makes all ICOs look scammy if more and more people who don't understand crypto get scammed by these ads. Besides, a lot of sources say that ICO ads are not that effective anyway. It's all about building community around the project for people who want to engage with it.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who’s Who? The life and times of a Telegram scammer on: March 20, 2018, 06:44:17 PM
This is a serious issue that needs to be attended to. It happens to almost every ICO i have seen, except for some very few. It doesn't happen before the start or during Pre-ICO alone, it also happens during the ICO and after, where the scammers take advantage of ignorant investors.
The issue now is how the various ICO projects will make necessary awareness for people not to fall victim of this acts again.

this is 100% true. not only through telegram too... I found this article super helpful: https://hackernoon.com/the-ico-handbook-705a89fa8978
It's a must read for companies doing ICOs but also has some interesting example of phishing scams and how to avoid being duped. A lot of this is common sense though - if it looks too good to be true it probably is so everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt. ICOs are still w wild wild west
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Messaging app for Blockchain projects on: March 20, 2018, 06:07:09 PM
Most often use a Telegram but it depends on the country in which you will use this messenger. For example, the management of Telegrams in Russia is now given 15 days to provide their codes for encryption. If they fulfill this condition then the privacy of the network will be reduced to zero. If not then probably Telegrams will be banned in Russia and satellite countries.

That's really interesting... I wonder what impact this will have on a lot of the crypto channels. Most of the big ones seem to be Russian.

I do find Telegram really scammy, it takes a while to get to know the good channels. However, recently people keep talking about Telegram more and more in the context of ICOs. Less so Slack and Discord
