So do exchanges in china need to use 3rd party payment providers ? Or can banks deal directly with exchanges  ... A clear yes or no would be useful  Huh

A BTC exchange in China called Huobi said to a newspaper that because all third party services are terminated, they have to handle thousands of money drawback request manually by bank transfer instead of that originally have a system in place which can help automatically process everything thus everyone in their company work till like 10 or 11 pm.

1. how can this be price manipulation when everyone get same amount of information and they probably aren't false
2. rarely any foreign BTC exchange accessible by Chinese people because most Chinese people don't have visa/master card but only those cards of their country's system. That's why it cause problems. If people can in China can trade in USD via MtGox then the whole thing won't happen. Only exception I noticed is BTC-E that cooperate with China paying channel but still it seem difficult for Chinese users to take money out of them.

Why would they go with ripple when Litecoin can do exactly the same thing, while supporting a truer open sourced model? Just saying. China has explicitly discussed Bitcoin as a threat to the RMB (Chinese Yuan), not about LTC. LTC could potentially be an open portal to bitcoin.

You can not buy Litecoins with Yuan... You can buy Litecoins with another cryptocurrency only...

you can, by okcoin etc, although people no longer trust okcoin

What ways are there left for chinese to buy cryptocoins now?

1. private sellers
2. see if there are gateways to ripple which were not banned yet.
(anyone senses if ripple will have the status of "exchange" or perhaps different status in China)
3. wait until government owned crypto exchange is founded
4. open up foreign bank accounts and buy on foreign exchanges
5. (illegaly?) accept BTC payments from abroad

any feedback appreciated!

no, in the latest "message", all cryptocurrency are controlled.

and, might be reading People's Bank of China's "Notice" would give some hint, but current PBC's site is under network attack and cannot be accessed from some or all places...

Is this from a reputable source? I have concerns about reliability of the source.

The only aim of spreading such news seem as creating a dump in prices and buying cheap coins to make profit after the price is stabilized at a higher rate.

This is just one of method to find a way to get more and more.

Still no official news but tons of "news" after a day  Huh

IMO, Chinese government dislike giving out firmed official statement about stances, but would rather contact all related parties and talk to them individually to get things done..

But anyway, even xinhuanet is reporting this....even its content is just moreorless like others, but this is xinhua.. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fbig5.xinhuanet.com%2Fgate%2Fbig5%2Fnews.xinhuanet.com%2Ffortune%2F2013-12%2F18%2Fc_118603718.htm

and see some news report in chinese...
