If a person sends a tip in bitcoin, he or she may not want the recipient to know how much money they have. Anonymity protects both sender and recipient from potential harm.
If a person inadvertently receives some bitcoin that can be traced to previous use in an illicit transaction, that bitcoin is potentially worth less than other bitcoin. Anonymity makes bitcoin more fungible so 1 BTC always equal one BTC.

The large hype and bubble with Bitcoin at the end of 2017 means that everyone with access to a computer - and the skills to use a computer - has already heard of Bitcoin.
This also means that anyone stupid enough to believe the hype already has bought Bitcoin. There simple are not a lot of new fools out there to ever pump the price again
The only hope HODL'ers have is to convince - and teach - the mentally retarded to buy Bitcoin, as there are not more normal fools to buy Bitcoin (they already HODL).
And therefore the pump will never happen
This article makes me saddened learning not so many fools. But yesterday I saw some guy in the street. He no look smart. He was walking really fast and always checking his phone. Maybe I sell him bitcoin.

BTC is projected to drop as low as $1500 by Bloomberg Analysts. (According to some, this is also the new break even price for the latest batch of ASICS.)Buying above $2500 shows you don't know what you are doing. This Market Collapse will be long , possible range a few months to a few years. (Collapse is less than 2 weeks old.)Buying above $3000 is the elite selling to the remaining suckers. FYI: The ones telling you to buy now or hodl are most likely the ones selling. Remember for someone to win in a Market someone else has to lose, which are you?Amazing, can I ask how did you figure this out? Could you please share any related formulas, my math is puny. Cheers!

People notice the passion of bitcoin, and the religious fervor of the flock, but in actuality BITCOIN is a 'cult', not a religion.
A Cult usually involves lots of money, and involves men as the icon, and not gods.
A Cult will seek out weak minded people with money, and convince them they will become richer if they hand all their money over to the cult, the cult also asks that you seek family and friends to also enter the cult.
The people running the cult, always get the money, and they get rich, the minions who turn their money over to the cult enter 'economic ruin'.
Let's review some of the cult principals behind bitcoin
1.) All of bitcoin is based on urban-myths, like privacy, safety, free-transfer of money, security; It turns out none of these are true, but these myths are still held dear to the flock. Every single myth involving bitcoin is a LIE, but if you point out that to the flock, they'll say you don't understand the block-chain.
2.) The flock believes that a 'ghost' name Satoshi created bitcoin in his own image, that first Satoshi was a Libertarian, but later satoshi became a day-trader ponzi scamster, the flock deeply embraced the idea that everyone could get RICHER by buying more bitcoin.
3.) Like the "Holy Trinity", Bitcoin has the block-chain, now to a CS person that's just a linked-list/data-structure, but to the flock, the block-chain is the holy communion of all bitcoin it brings all things together the block-chain is the glue that binds the cult.
4.) The flock believes that like "Moses" with the 10 commandments that Satoshi spent 40 days and 40 nights 'writing the code, the block-chain implementation', the reality is both SHA-256 & ESCDA ( sec256k1 ) are NSA algo's, the reality is that 'Satoshi' was a BIS/NSA math guy who seeded BTC and that it was later ran by the CIA to fund world-wide terror operations.
5.) The flock believes that the 'Bible' is the Satoshi white-paper, the truth is the white paper is a verbatim copy of the BIS document from 1997 entitled "How to make a digital currency", amazingly satoshi doesn't even credit this paper, but the flock doesn't care about facts, they 'believe' because that is the way of the 'block-chain' which is not unlike the 'force' in star-wars.
6.) The flock believes that Satoshi was a saint, that he was pure; The reality of course is that Satoshi is a government contractor; The flock was told that Satoshi was a libertarian, who hated government, the reality is that Satoshi enjoys his government pension and all that it entails very much.
Amazing...how do you know all this especially the part about Bitcoin funding world-wide terror operations? Thanks. CIA/MOSSAD created ISIS, ISIS has been using bitcoin all along to fund terror operations, you can google "ISIS and BITCOIN". Nobody told ISIS how to hodl? http://time.com/money/4251494/why-isis-is-going-broke/ISIS came out of Hillary Clinton, running State under OBAMA, TRUMP broke the ISIS cookie jar, that's why ISIS is 'broke', but the reality is CIA just changes the names of their operatives, now its called "The White Hats" I agree, had ISIS done the HODL thing, then maybe the witch would have WON POTUS and not dTrumpf. Yep, right HODL is the solution to all crime Dude, you are taking the tried and true concept of 'mansplaining' to whole new level here...impressive!

There is something fascinating about this entire thread and there are others like it...read each sentence carefully...the words themselves are obviously all in English, but most, if not the entire discussion is strangely (and possibly symbolically) devoid of any real meaning....who runs this place and what kind of pseudo-reality have I stumbled upon Here?

I think it's safe to say that those who support XRP are orders of magnitude worse than the group you are referring to. It's mind boggling how upset people get if you even dare to point them at XRPs shortcomings.
It has gone so far, that crypto "influencers" on social media carefully choose their words and think it through twice before actually saying something about XRP. Not sure how they got so involved, but it's interesting nonetheless.
They keep pointing at banks coming in and the utility, yet no one of them actually used it for anything, neither do they know if banks are actually planning to use it in the future.....
Sorry, but what's a crypto influencer? Is that like some dude or chick who is desperate to sell me a bag of their shit coins at a 'discount' if I agree to subscribe to their daily or hourly news-letter? I think its like penny stock, where the salesman gets 50% commission. Everything about bitcoin smells like a penny stock factory, especially the bullshit about HODL, In bitcoin the influencer is an 'evangelist', because bitcoin is a cult, it needs people on the sidewalks bringing in new suckers Ah, I get it. I’ve watched a number of YouTube videos and while some of these “evangelists” are just plain are funny, others can appear impossibly earnest, bitcoin-obsessed and totally submissive towards their favorite shit coin developers who in turn are all paid sponsors of their content. I’m sure most of them are also super-wealthy now after selling me their bags at all time high prices last January...No more cool aid so ridiculously earnest in their beliefs that it’s @a bit creepy (and funny).

I think i can believe in everything in cryptocurrency business.. You should not listen anyone.. I am in this market from several years and i have seen many bad things. The people can be scammer easily so you should never trust anyone from here. With all my preventions i got scammed twice, i followed someone that he made me buy some coins and that was his shit coins but i couldn't realise.. And ones again someone made me buy Bitcoin Private from $70 and made me HODL.. Now price is less than $3.. When i think about the scammers i always ask to myself that how can they get even sleep at nights??
Sorry to hear about your story which I find particularly depressing but apparently not an uncommon experience in crypto. Can i ask how this individual you followed made you buy his shit coins? Thanks for sharing.

I think it’s more a symptom of this website which places a premium on continuous relatively redundant banter or “talk” rather than of bitcoin itself. The most interesting and informative content on this forum was posted years ago when the community was less about making profits and more about using computers in a new and cool way. Bitcointalk will always have a place in history but I just don’t see real utility anymore. Hopefully they won’t do an ico

It’s a simple but highly effective whale strategy to foment market panic by dumping large amounts and later buying back at a significantly lower price.
It would almost be criminal to pretend otherwise especially in this market.

1) BTC sucks 2) BTC rules 3) (blank) altcoin sucks/rules 4) Hodling sucks/rules 5) Mining sucks (only) 6) When moon?
7.) What's higher the IQ of a HODLR or parrot? 8.) Where is the NEW sucker money to blast BTC to the moon going to come from? Greater Fool Theory ( Greater HODL'R Theory ) 9.) Where did the Missing $800 Billion go when BTC went -90% ? Did someone pocket that money? Or did it truly evaporate? 10.) Who orchestrated the 2017 Parabolic Rise of BTC? 11.) Who sold out at $21k and got rich? 12.) Who is NakamotoSAtoshi? ( Hint: NSA ) ECDSA-secp256k1 is NSA, sha-256 is NSA, the odds of basing code 100% on NSA algos is impossible, unless designed by NSA. 13.) Who is the criminal class behind the parabolic-rise of BTC?? Post 2014?? ( Hint: They have names ) 14.) Does it really matter why BTC price collapsed? ( Hint: No, the criminals couldn't wait to get their profits ) 15. You only “lose” when you sell. (Tell that to the person who bought 1 bitcoin @ $10k and sold at $6k and now has 2 bitcoins she purchased around $3k).

Crypto market is been red for last 3 months. Everyone has lost money. What do you think?
I apologize, in my response I assumed you meant "dying" in terms of its tech, not market price. What do you think about it's underlying tech holds in terms of the future?
|
|
|
Although crypto has made some people very rich (not overnight), it also has the potential to make you very poor (overnight).
|
|
|
Ethereum is Legend and I don't think it's dying at all.
But in 2006, I remember using my PSP handheld to play some of the greatest games ever made using a Nintendo Virtual Console and thinking wow, 10 - 15 years feels like an entire lifetime in terms of technological advancements.

I can see the potential for millions of altcoins in the future. Scary, I know.
