1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Game over" scenario for Bitcoin on: December 04, 2019, 08:32:48 AM
I doubt I could even get to the payout min of .001 btc. Also I never seem to have any shares accepted I think it's due to the network difficulty being too high maybe.

Are bounties still collectible? I was thinking about doing the website/tutorial one....

People who say botnets ruin CPU coins are idiots. Just like with any coin botnets are an issue. Bitcoin has them, litecoin has them. What makes people think that botnets can't use GPU's just as much as they can use CPU's?
4  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin Daemon Vagrant DataDir on: January 13, 2014, 08:15:14 PM
Hi,

I'm using vagrant, a virtual machine development environment, to setup a test server to develop with bitcoin, and I have a script that auto compiles bitcoin on the linux guest and creates a link from home/user/.bitcoin to a shared folder on the host machine(a windows PC). When I start the daemon using: "./bitcoind -daemon" I receive this error(from the log file):

Code:
init message: Loading block index...
Opening LevelDB in /home/vagrant/.bitcoin/blocks/index
: Error opening block database.
Do you want to rebuild the block database now?
Flush(false)
DBFlush(false) ended               1ms
StopNode()
Flushed 0 addresses to peers.dat  5ms
Flush(true)
DBFlush(true) ended               0ms

I made sure that the folder and files within .bitcoin have the correct permissions. I've deleted everything in /home/vagrant/.bitcoin but I still get the same error. I have a feeling this has something to do with the fact that the windows machine is NTFS compared to the linux machine which is ext3.

Has anyone run into any similar issues or have any suggestions on how I can fix this?

+1 Quarkcoin. The security features alone should be worth adding it.

I get 30 with multiple computers! lol I'm hoping I can get some better mining hardware soon. I really want to mine an alt coin and turn them into ltc. A buddy of mine is mining and getting around 250 on a nvidia.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Best altcoin mining pool? on: December 19, 2013, 04:18:43 PM
Hi, I have a couple of computers mining Infinite Coins using: http://treasurequarry.com/ It seems to be working off and on, and so far I made 8000 in about 2 days, but the last 8 hours I haven't received any payouts.. I'm curious what would be the best mining pool for someone who can turn out about 30-40 kh/s??

Thanks,
-Toaster
