Hello everyone.  The 2.2.1 release of the QT wallet is available for download at https://github.com/RavenProject/Ravencoin/releases

This release improves the wallet sync speeds and addressed a potential chain split bug.

According to this website FPGA's officaly comes on x16r coins in spring. If you think a bit some must be having this x16r bitsream already and are mining.

http://zetheron.com/index.php/downloads/

Ok so now we have official proof of these existing. How do we go about removing them?

Those links are proof that the company wants them to exist, but the download page for the X16R bitstream says that it should be available Spring 2019.  That could be true, or it could be hype to drive sales.  While there very well could be FPGA's currently ready for RVN, I wont trust sites like Zetheron that say they have or will have a bitstream available until the download is actually available.

I suppose that's one way to interpret that conversation.

Its pretty straight forward. You stated public information on how they work, etc. Then you stated no longer ASIC resistance instead we will need an 80% Vote to fork ASICs off, which everyone knows cant occur if there is a private or public ASIC farm on the network.

No, I said that there isn't enough evidence to make a snap decision to fork, and asked if you had more info that could be used to investigate the claim, which you have not provided.  An immediate decision to fork would require a community consensus vote right now, but that isn't the only way to handle a centralized ASIC dominant hashrate if that is proven to exist in the future.

You never asked if i had info to investigate. I didnt say an immediate decision to fork, i stated the Devs will not fork away ASICs unless they became publicly available which is what you confirmed. You stated unless i had exact information on the ASIC (how it was done, etc.) then i have no proof. Other large community members statements that an ASIC is produced is "not proof", Chinese Mining Chats stating there are ASICs are "not proof". Your method of Proof is that it would need to go public. Also you stated 80% is required to fork ASICs off, which would not be doable with ASICs on the network. You proved everything i stated originally that Devs will not do anything until potentially ASICs are available for sale, but now you went even further to perform a Zooko and are now pretty much stating ASICs will not be forked off because the hashrate wont be able to do it.

Ok, if you say so.  Of course, in your screenshot above I do happen to state that if you have any additional info, I would pass it to the devs, and in discord 19 minutes after your screenshot ends I specifically asked for more info so that your concerns could be investigated. It seems that there is some misrepresentation of what I have said, but I suppose that is par for the course.

Community member Jeroz pointed out a really cool company a few weeks ago that let's you send RVN via *TEXT* to someone else. The company is called CoinText, and they have recently set up RVN on their United States network. If we can show them that the community is excited about this application, they may be able to enable it on other networks. They have had this service for BCH, DASH, and LTC for some time, so its not new - it's just new to Raven.

Tron, Ravencoindev, Jeroz, and myself have all tested it to send to a SMS phone number as well as a full public key, so it's looking really promising. All you do is text 603-301-4606 (again, just on U.S. networks for now) "Send <amount> <address or phone number>." The devs gave me the ok this morning to put it out to the community. The company's site is Cointext.io if you want to check it out, but keep in mind that the site was set up for BCH, so the info for Raven hasn't been added to it yet.

Good morning!  As some of you may know, the asset launch has had a hiccup that is preventing people from creating asset on mainnet.  The developers have found the issue and have created a fix that is being rolled out with version 2.1.2. The problem was that there was an extra check on mainnet for 'Standard' transactions that didn't exist on testnet. It will take some time for mining pools and asset creators to connect, but this should not affect those that don't want to create assets.  RVN should send just fine.  I will make another post when the 2.1.2 binaries are available for download.

Tron has created a new rebranding RIP and it contains logos that have been submitted.

Community discussion is desired. So if you want some input on which logo may be used in the future, here is your place to speak up.

OP wrote it as like it's two different thing but Medici Ventures is belong to Overstock. They are the same thing.

So, Overstock C-Level got interested in Crypto so much, they couldn't help themselves but to create a coin.

They say, no premine, no ICO but I'm quite sure they kept the mining rigs ready to dominate the game. After all, when mainnet gets launched someone needs to keep the network secure(!), am I right?

All this Binance and other exchanges happening because of Aggressive Marketing/Branding push by again, Overstock.

They got immense amount of experience in Business, I have no doubt that Overstock will do everything to make sure Raven stays relevant and popular.

Regardless what they do, Raven is a scam. A scam by Overstock. Anyone can contribute the network sounds like a bullshit to me. I'm sure they can but Overstock will keep the control all the time.

Long story short: Without Overstock, this coin is literally DEAD.

Token launch on platform? Sounds like C-Levels got super greedy want to achieve same success of Ethereum. (make no mistake, Ethereum is a scam too)

Community looks solid, algo looks unique, nice UI/Design but Overstock most likely the majority miner, dev teams probably getting funded by Overstock.

So, Meh. Just saying... Good luck though.

Wrong on so many points, but that's your perspective I guess.

Medici has 1 mining rig with 8 Nvidia cards, and that wasn't built until April/May.  Overstock itself has 0 rigs.  The network is kept secure by the miners of the community.  Overstock is doing aggressive marketing/advertising for Raven?  Show me one ad.  Without Overstock, Ravencoin will be the same as it is now.  So, sorry, your theory of Overstock being the majority miner is 100% incorrect.

You did get one thing right, though.  Most of the developers that are working on the asset layer are employees of Medici/Overstock.  Medici allows devs to work on open-source projects on company time, though there are no funds generated for or via Ravencoin that are paying the salaries of said developers.

Hello @everyone! Version 2.1 of the Ravencoin QT wallet is now available for download at https://github.com/RavenProject/Ravencoin/releases

This will be the asset aware version of the wallet that will be used for the Octobet 31st RIP2 voting of the asset layer (assuming that no major bugs are discovered and need to be addressed), so it is recommended that everyone update to this version of the wallet as soon as possible.

The new wallet has issues with the network, i don't have any network connections.

Are there some nodes i can add ?

I would ask about it in the Ravencoin Community discord server.  I seem to recall this issue coming up for others, and there are some steps you can take to fix it.

Please explain to dumb person what means in my ravencoin wallet "Asset Activation Status Waiting until 31.10.2020".
Do I need to wait for so long to do something or it doesn't mean anything? Can I send my ravencoins to everywhere I want before that time and so on? Or I will get rich on 31.10.2020?

Different dates are showing for different people due to what version of the wallet they are running.  If you are running any wallet version after 15.99 and up to/including 2.04, you should see the date as Oct 31, 2018.  However, a new version 2.0.4.1 was released to fix the inherited bitcoin bug that left some pretty big vulnerabilities (which everyone will hopefully DL as soon as possible)  The devs changed the asset voting date to 2020 so that people would need to update one more time to the final release version (2.1) that should be available in a couple weeks. This update will put back the Oct 31, 2018 voting date to get it all back on track.

This whole process was done because it resolved some potential issues on the back end for development, and shouldn't cause any issues for people who update to the new version as soon as it becomes available.
