Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin is interested in BitTorrent, recently acquired by the cryptocurrency and blockchain platform Tron.

Justin Sun announced on Twitter on Wednesday, “It seems that Satoshi Nakamoto himself was interested in joining our Atlas project since Nov. 03 2008.”

Describing how the system could scale, Nakamoto cited BitTorrent as an example of a peer-to-peer network that could give a digital currency monetary value.

Justin Sun recently unveiled how he plans to integrate the Tron protocol into BitTorrent to reward users who share content.

The foundation claims that it wants to build what it calls a “decentralized internet,” allowing developers to build blockchain-based applications. It’s unclear how exactly Tron plans to integrate with BitTorrent.

According to Justin Sun, “Currently we are exploring the possibility of using the Tron protocol to improve the BitTorrent protocol, in order to make the BitTorrent protocol faster… I hope the integration of Tron and BitTorrent will allow both parties to work better as one in the future.”

Investigators have arrested and charged a 20-year-old college student of being part of a gang that hacked cellphone numbers before stealing over $5 million in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Tech news website Motherboard reported, citing court documents obtained by it, that Joel Ortiz, a 20-year-old college student from Boston, has been accused of hijacking more than 40 phone numbers with the help of some accomplices.

Ortiz and a group of associates specifically targeted people involved in crypto and blockchain. The group allegedly targeted multiple individuals during the high-profile Consensus conference in New York City in May 2018.

The hacking technique involves tricking a cell phone provider such as AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile. To pull off the scheme, Ortiz and his crew had to impersonate their targets. They allegedly contacted the victims’ cell phone providers to request new SIM cards, convincing them that you have lost your SIM card.
Once they have confirmed your identity, they will transfer the number to another SIM card (which you already own).

Poloniex, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has officially added EOS to its trading pair list.

Poloniex which was recently acquired by a mobile payment app Circle supported by the Goldman Sachs bank has decided to make the exchange work following new rules of assessing virtual assets.

EOS deposits and withdrawals are currently live and trading in EOS /USDT, EOS/BTC, and EOS/ETH pairs will be enabled on August 1st, 2018.

According to reports, the CEO of Sky Mining (a crypto mining company in Vietnam) disappeared with investors funds totaling about $35 million USD, and employees have no clue where he resided.

Investors also found that 600 of the firm’s mining machines were uninstalled from the firm’s data center in the Dong Nai province, specifically in the town of Bien Hoa.

Etherscan, Ethereum block explorer announced via their official subreddit on Monday to alert the community about an apparent hacking attempt that had just been detected and thwarted.

The attacker attempted to use the comment section to serve up malicious code. By injecting random JavaScript alerts into the summarized comments section provided by Disqus, a third-party comment hosting service.

It was discovered when the admins started receiving reports of error messages popping up on the site with the content “1337” in them. It was quickly discovered that comments had been posted with code inside them.

Etherscan said they have patched the problem, no systems were compromised besides the appearance of pop-up alerts. According to Etherscan, they disabled the Disqus comments section and tested a patch to encode footer comments to prevent future attacks.
