1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam Alert] https://bitshumb.com/ Discord 'btc give-away' phishing scam on: August 19, 2019, 07:45:38 PM
I also received this message. The linked bitcoin talk thread seemed a little light along with the user's other posts which are scattered over a few years. The topic was closed after a few heavily redacted replies. The linked website looked a little phishy (that icon...) so I went on over to good ol coinmarketcap and scrolled down to bithumb because I am slightly dyslexic and that kind of crap probably works more than it should. After finding that bitshumb is not listed on coinmarketcap I found this post here. No idea which discord I am in that I got this from. Probably the same one where all the different bots keep messaging me with pictures of girls in bikinis with half their rib cage photoshoped out and a bunch of sketchy looking links.  Undecided

Guys, let's be real and honest.

1. New coin announced.
2. Guys slam it from NiceHash because you can redirect power faster than controlling hw yourself
3. They mine first few days and bail.

That's not going to change.

Within FIRST hour of the announcement, hash rate was already hitting almost 3Mh...I checked FatPanda.
That's the equivalent of 3,000 GTX1070Ti mining Maple within 45 minutes of the announcement.

No coin organically gets 500 6-gpu rigs setup and mining within 45 minutes without rented hash power.

Notice network rate has dropped to 1/3 of that? They do it to most coins just to take a gamble.

Nobody joins a mining pool with 000.00KH/sec and nobody wants to mine a coin with a bunch of do nothing pools. I have heard from several people that have rented hash power on their own pools when they were brand new to help get them off the ground. As other miners step in the rented hash power is lowered until it's all miners.

For a much better explanation of this pleas see Son of a Tech's video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROqopLO70zE

I'm not saying I know this is what's happening. I'm saying we need to be skeptical and critical without falling into a negative mindset.

"Already hitting almost 3Mh" As I said in a previous post with 5Kh I mined 1000 coins in the first two days. I got lucky and saw the post early the first day. "Is that good or bad?" I asked myself. Who knows. Now 5 days in and I'm up to 4300 coins. Again, is this good or bad?  We'll see when/if it hits an exchange.

If everything that happens is interpreted as a predatory attack you start to sound like all those gamers who think we took their happy fun time away from them. If you are mining this coin for profit alone you might want to reexamine your strategy and go with a safer bet. We need to be honest with ourselves about why we are even mining a coin like this. If you are curious to see where the project goes, well then it's going to need miners. Could this be the most profitable coin to mine right now? I hope so Grin Am I gonna trip if it ends up fizzling out? Nah bro way she goes.

[/quote]You have to pay someone to make a block explorer in your own coins?

Is this a one person show doing this from home?  Certainly seems that way.
And still no Whitepaper, wouldn't you kind of do that before releasing your coin and website?

Seems like an after school project by some dude that is too wasted to do the whitepaper or have a BE.    Cheesy

I assume you would prefer an ICO or some sort of pre-mine. Hold up where is your whitepaper and block explorer?

I don't understand all the posts crying about ASIC miners ruining this coin. Isn't it a little to early to tell?
There is a lot of fuzzy math here but I personally am getting 4.95 KH/sec with 4 RX 580s and 2 RX 570s. I definitely consider myself a "little guy" and know several people who aren't "big" that have several times more cards than I do. Some people in this thread have hinted at the fact they tried to mine cryptonight with an Nvida card and well, that's your problem right there.

I have mined 1000 coins in 48 hours with 6 GPUs. Is that good or bad? Maybe we should find out what the coin is worth or what it even is besides another XMR spin off before jumping to conclusions.

If you think this coin is to hard  Huh go try ETN and tell me how that goes

Thanks for your pefect explanation  Smiley

So basically the Developers lied from the very beginning about it being ASIC resistant.

Way to build a community and trust.   Roll Eyes

We didn't lie, the coin will be Asic resistance you don't need to worry about it.
Asic isn't out yet and didn't harm our coin.

And thanks everyone for your contribution and supporting MapleCoin  Smiley
You can join us on Discord for any support/question or anything else!
Dude), Asic has long been mined - come back to YouTube to see how they all minaret monero and electronium) 70% monero - this is an asic and a botnet) And your coin is not interesting to them, since it has no real value.

Exactly why it may be a good idea to mine now with GPUs. Something is only worth what someone will pay for it. Seeing as the coin is not listed on any exchange yet then you're right determining the value is a bit difficult. If you think the anti-ASIC Monero fork will fail that is another issue. If so mine now while it's easy, or leave them all for me.  Grin
