I think social media campaign in the like of Facebook is still operating. Facebook just don't allow those unwanted crypto adds because of the fact that there are lots of scam ICOs today that would eventually poison the minds of the people that would literally stain the reputation of bitcoin and cryptos.

If you wanna to hold for long term  my advice is to keep private keys somewhere safe. Keeping your holdings in exchange can be big threat against your expectations regarding selling them for profit after some time

I really believe in these projects: ADA, EOS, NEO, XRP, HBZ, ZIL, IOTA. Many of them do not yet have a strong capitalization. They are on the initial path of development. But I am sure that they will have a great future!

Advice from me, do not hold bitcoin for too long because you do not get a profit. Better to sell when prices go up and buy them back with bitcoin prices are falling, because the movement of bitcoin prices is so drastically unlike altcoin. At the same alcoin, sell above the ICO price.

I think NEO is very good especially if you already have Ethereum since NEO is one of the closest competitors of ETH. You will also get free Gas for holding this coins.

If for the long term I think you should take the ETH, because usually in ico everyone will use the gas from eth to sell the token ERC20. That way ETH is more effective for long term because the market is active every time.

I think you should invest in both of them. Litecoin was easily added to Coinbase, because it is used for daily transaction, and Coinbase deals mostly with individuals who are involved in such, while Ripple is able to acquire such partnership, because of its focus, which is most useful for banks and institutions.
