1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Binance Classic [BNBC] on: August 21, 2019, 06:47:30 PM
Is this project even related to Binance? Or are you just using their name out of convenience?

I've also stopped using gminer until Zminer777 addresses these accusations. This is a despicable thing to do to another hard-working developer. And to charge double on top of it all is just disgusting to me. If this is in fact true, and it appears so, Zminer should be ashamed. At least take the time to code your own kernels rather than steal other people's hard work and put your name on it.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.7.7 - native algo switching on: February 04, 2019, 04:38:24 PM
Will you be releasing an update with CN-GPU? They will be forking at block 228750 in about 10 days.

Does anyone know what the major pool mining Niobio is? Is it a private pool? Is it just a lot of solo miners?

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★Italo Network★ -CN based | Multi-PABs | Crowd-Hashing | Low Supply | No Premine on: December 12, 2018, 07:48:39 PM
One more thing, I received this warning on the daemon earlier:

https://i.imgur.com/hjkreAG.png

Isn't 51 blocks within 90 minutes within the normal range? With 120 second block times, on average we should see 45 blocks every 90 minutes. Maybe you should reconsider the threshold for this warning?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★Italo Network★ -CN based | Multi-PABs | Crowd-Hashing | Low Supply | No Premine on: December 12, 2018, 07:28:11 PM
I downloaded the new 64-bit CLI wallet today (0.13.0.4). I'm very impressed with the sync speed. For whatever reason the new italo daemon deleted my old blockchain db that was around 150,000 blocks. I didn't mind when I saw how fast it was syncing. It synced the whole chain from 0 to 169K blocks in about 12 minutes. Normally I only see these kinds of speeds by downloading raw blockchains or checkpoint/bootstrap files. I assume this was part of the Monero codebase but regardless this is a huge improvement! Will you be merging Monero's future patches to your codebase going forward?

One more thing, I had a question about re-using old wallets from before the rebranding. I got the following warning from the new wallet:

WARNING: Do not reuse your Italo keys on another fork, UNLESS this fork has key reuse mitigations built in. Doing so will harm your privacy.

Does this warning apply to this fork? Should I create a new wallet and send the old coins to the new wallet?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POW] [XWP] Swap [REBRAND] on: December 12, 2018, 05:42:02 PM
I read the entire description above, but I'm still uncertain as to what the purpose of the coin is. Being a "fair, efficient, and stable" blockchain is an altruistic and admirable goal, however it would be helpful to know what Swap has in mind to set itself apart from being another Monero clone.

For instance, I understand Haven has an ultimate goal of "offshoring" being its primary attractive feature, even if there exists some criticisms as to its viability. Therefore, my question is, does this project have any longer-term goals in mind? I understand it's a smaller project with a small dev team, but I'd still like to hear your perspective on how Swap can distinguish itself and become a viable competitor to more established coins.

I can respect the lack of pre-mine and the tweaked difficulty algorithm paired with Ethereum-like block times. From what I've seen, this is a first for a Cryptonight-based coin. The focus on Cuckoo is also rather interesting considering it isn't a remarkably common PoW algorithm but has some appealing characteristics. These traits make Swap distinctive, nevertheless, what is going to draw the average crypto investor to Swap, or the average person who doesn't particularly care about pre-mine, block times, or difficulty? It would be interesting to know where the team plans to take the coin so those of us interested in holding Swap for the long-term have something to look forward to.

To sum up what I'm looking for, it would be interesting to get some clarity on Swap's objectives and long-term strategy.

Anyway, great work so far! I'll be following the project closely.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: December 12, 2018, 05:06:57 PM
For a fair start, there should be miners available for the main OS's and both AMD and Nvidia.

If conditions for a fair start can not be met, it's preferable to postpone

Fully agree with this. The launch has already been delayed once, so clearly the team is committed to a smooth start to the project.

If the team has been diligently working since August, what's another few weeks to ensure a fair distribution upon launch?  Huh

The team appears to be interested in allowing both AMD and Nvidia miners:

Anyone with NVIDIA or AMD graphics cards will be able to solo mine or pool mine Veil without concerns about ASICs and mining centralization.

Ensuring this statement holds true from the start would be ideal.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: December 12, 2018, 04:54:07 PM
From what I was told today from dev working on this, AMD may not be done in time for launch. Just to be on the safe side I am trying to get confirmation that Nvidia will be there at launch. I agree with you guys that it would definitely be desirable to have both major GPU brands supported at the start and will convey that to the team.

Well, that's particularly disappointing. My video cards are AMD. Undecided

Not quite sure I'm understanding you correctly. You're saying AMD probably won't be done in time for launch and you're trying to get confirmation that Nvidia will be ready for launch? Does this mean it's possible neither AMD nor Nvidia will be available at launch and it will be CPU only?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: December 11, 2018, 08:21:35 PM
It would be nice to get some details on the x16rt miner so we have time to test it before launch on Saturday. Especially considering this is a new algo and may require tweaks to our clock speeds and voltages. When do you expect to release this info?

11 gpus are nitro+ rx570 8g samsung
1 gpu is xfx rx580 8g samsung
is this optimal config?
cnv8
[2018-12-08 11:56:20] GPU0 :    986 H/s [T: 62c, RPM: 1902, CC: 1300 MHz, MC: 2040 MHz][BUS:7]
[2018-12-08 11:56:20] Total:    11847 H/s
~1600w for whole rig

finally now, when profitability is low, i'm starting sw benchmarks - i mine with each miner sw for 48h and check consumption and real hasheshes on pool. Obviously clean boot before every sw switch. But unfortunately nothing to publish, as with srb miner i noticed i run eth OC (1200mhz) instead of 1300mhz on most cards. I still don't know if 1300mhz is optimal for XMR performance/consumption wise.

I hope at least now, I can get reasonable replies from people with experience and no bullshit about 70w consumption of 570 card etc. like there were people claiming in January.

Assuming you're using 1.7.2? I've noticed only minimal gains going above 1200mhz core. You might gain an extra 50h/s per GPU by going up to 1350-1400mhz, but you're using considerably more wattage to do so. It's not worth it in my opinion. I have free electricity and I'm only setting my core clocks at 1200.

Here are the stats from one of my 580 8gb rigs:

This is the strap I use for my Samsung cards, it's the Ubermix 3.2 strap. Looks like you're using the same one.

777000000000000022CC1C00CEE55C46C0590E1532CD66090060070014051420FA8900A00300000 012123442C3353C19

Normally with this strap I can't get much above 2000mhz memory clock. Although that's normal.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POW] [XFH] Free Haven Protocol on: December 01, 2018, 09:36:14 PM
As for your hash rate, this is crypto where ppl will mine boobie coin with hope of making a profit. Shit you can create a thread about placing feces on a blockchain and if you make the coin mineable, a bunch of ppl will mine it.

Any idea where I can mine this one? Sounds like a solid bet. Call it PoopScoopCoin?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MN][$LOKI] Loki - Private Transactions & Comms on: November 27, 2018, 08:37:44 PM
Mining LOKI or any other crypto for the time being with my GPUs has become almost not profitable at all. Is the miner's reward going to be increased?

Increasing the block reward would only increase your profits for a few hours, if that. What would happen is other miners currently mining other Cryptonight coins would promptly switch to Loki as it would temporarily be more profitable. Profits would then even out to very close to where they are currently as the new miners flooded the network. You'll notice most Cryptonight coins have very similar profit returns right now. This is because miners have evenly spaced themselves out to an equilibrium. This equilibrium is the average profit that coins on the CN algorithm can maintain with their current market cap.

At this point in time, your best bet is to shut down and either 1) wait it out until prices increase or 2) sell your rigs. It just doesn't make sense to mine at a loss. You're effectively buying crypto with your electricity, but at a higher cost than if you were to outright buy on an exchange for fiat.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Good bye Antminer Z9(equihash ASICS) on: October 31, 2018, 03:51:12 PM
I really love how entitled GPU miners tend to be. You think that YOU are the one that made the coins relevant but thats total bullshit. You saw it was one of the most profitable, you hopped on the bandwagon to make a buck (not to support the specific project) and then start crying when you dont like the profits, like the devs owe you something. You get paid for mining, they dont owe you shit, get over yourselves.

Yes, because GPUs, CPUs, RAM, motherboards, routers, PDUs, and electricity all come for free. You act like miners don't have skin in the game. In exchange for offering up their equipment/time and securing a coin's network, miners are paid a very modest amount of profits. Miners have a vested interest as well as developers in the success of a coin. Often, it's a direct result of miners taking an interest in a coin that a coin realizes success.

To then have developers turn their backs (after promising ASIC resistance) is a slap in the face. GPU miners absolutely have a right to be upset if after dedicating their equipment, capital, and time, the devs discard the relationship as if miners weren't making a valuable contribution. Not to mention GPU miners often hold the coins that they mine, as opposed to warehouse-sized operations that must sell their mined coins to exchanges on a regular basis.

Until more coins switch to PoS, it just doesn't make sense to consolidate a network to a select few. Goes against the principles of crypto entirely.
