Just don't invest in HYIP and do trading alone.

Just doing my research before sticking a couple of dollars into the invest box for some 5% return daily, just testing waters, now this got my attention. I almost purchased some lambo coin, well because of the name, i know it is a shitcoin, and it has no real world value, but have you seen the price today, 8btc for one lambo coin.

saw the chat going while when it was a mear few satoshi, was going to get 1000 just for fun. I not laughing now I tell ya, I not laughing now. this is the second time its happened to me where I felt like getting a coin but didn't because i saw almost 10% gain buying and transfering to sell at another exchange.

I was using yobit, and suddenly all my available balance got turned into yobitcode. It was after I downloaded a dice bot, so this maybe what has happened.

In crypto you could lose everything, but the same time you could earn great profit. Crypto is very hardly prediction thing.

with regard to losing everything, I lost a lot of bitcoins because of a computer hard drive breaking. then I left the crypto scene for a while, didn't lose much at the time because btc wasn't worth much at all, though if i lost it now i would probably throw a paddy fit, and drink myself to an early grave. losing them coins was a learning experience to always keep backups.
the coins would have probably gone on a game when the value got to over a dollar, so kind of glad it happened. if it didn't I may have lost a lot more in value later on.

scams are probably a bigger risk but the next biggest risk is probably losing a wallet through hardware fails than anything else.

with a little experience under my belt with stocks, and penny stocks, I find even the best penny shares can fail, you then have crypto, which i recently got back into little over a year ago.
with crypto being an unregulated market, you have a higher risk of falling victim to a scam, you also have the risk factor of volitility, and then you have the risk of a coin just dying.

because i am not a financial advisor, I will give you the basis of what I do.

if I have properly researched the alt coin project, and I am at least a little confident that it isn't a scam, then i will invest anywhere from >1% to 5% of my total investment into that coin. this isn't including the more secure projects like btc, ether ect...

I will then hold and monitor the market and coin. also this forum. Then adjust based on how the project is coming along.

I have fallen for a few scams in the past, I have also invested in coins which ended up dying, I have also invested in coins which have seen substantial gains. There are some coins I wish I put a little more into, and other coins which I should have stayed with when development was slow. I also mine coins and put the profits into most new coins. the only scams I baught into were bitconnect ico, also davor coin ico, I knew the risk with it and didn't put in more than i was willing to lose. on bitconnect I did make quite a bit of profit from the ico, but sold half of it early on, then "invested" the other half, did the same with davor.

still a lot of great advice from people here, just thought I would butt in for a change.
