Hey there bitminers and bittraders!

I started mining just over a week ago and have built up just shy of 10 BTC so far. I now cannot bring myself to play games as this will delay my mining and minimise profits. So now all I do is watch the coins roll in, whilst learning C#, and pondering about the future of bitcoin.

At the current rate of BTC to GBP this seems to pay my monthly rent and electricity. This is something I still cannot quite wrap my head around.
Something I also noticed is that it seems to be the strongest currency in the world at the moment..

Anyway, someone stated that the US federal reserve does not like bitcoin. At first I thought this was obvious but on second thoughts, there is nothing stopping 'them' from profiting huge amounts too.
So at the risk of seeming naive; What is to stop 'them' or some other huge corporation dedicating a huge supercomputer-like-cluster to mining and suddenly having lets say 70% of the total hashing power, and doing what people accuse deepbit of having the possibility of doing (whatever that is, though I suspect its just jealousy)

Not being able to post in other forums is a silly rule. But a good way to ensure a lot of low quality posts in my opinion, but then again no ones asking for it. Still, I can't make blank posts  Grin
