1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just airing some frustration and some facts about BTCPOP on: April 27, 2016, 03:55:23 PM
I repeat, no Ardeva information has been taken.

This would of been a better bartering tool for any 'hacker' than a set of outdated pw hashes
2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just airing some frustration and some facts about BTCPOP on: April 27, 2016, 02:10:04 PM
No Ardeva documents or data was leaked.

No BTC was stolen during the xmas period. I thought there might of been, turns out it was fine.

We don't check this thread very often as it is just an outlet for someones fustration at their own failures. If anyone wants to ask any questions, a member of staff can normally be found on Pop's chatroom.

For the time being, I recommend everyone ingore this thread until the outcome of a police investigation in to the data leak.

I also suggest a read up of Sections 65 to 74 of Chapter XI Information Technology Act 2000

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: March 10, 2016, 11:45:26 AM
i think it will never .
why ? because bitcoin say . nobody control your BTC and there is no fee . so if bitcoin had bank it will had fee and somebody will control it .

Banks not only charge fees - they also provide interest. This is one reason why people might be tempted to give their bitcoins to banks.
On control - I agree that we will be losing control if you give your coins to a bank. It is up to you to decide whether the interest offered is sufficient for the loss of control.

If a bank provides a service I want, I do not mind them charging me a fee. If there is no bank, I cannot borrow money.

Well there has not to be any bitcoins banks in my opinion we have the wallets and I think that is good enough.
Also a bitcoin bank will be less more controllable and untraceable so I do not think its a good idea at all.

well, this topic was more about an investment type of bank rather than just a simple wallet, for wallet you are right we can hold out own bitcoin with all sorts of different wallets but for a bank that pays interest there is no option available and if there is any, it is either scam or hard to trust.
What do you think abou btcpop?
I cant find any reviews, they have 5% capitalisation per year.
Its very close to a bank, looks real.
But very unpopular service, provides loans and some other forms of investing.
They dont have an account here, thats bad news.

Hi,

We don't have an 'official' BTCPOP account here, but staff have their own accounts Smiley

There are a lot of reviews of btcpop.co on the net. Many are shared on Twitter.

www.btcpop.co is a P2P banking system. We have have been running for just over a year, have 9 members of staff and based in the UK (reg company no: 09492940)

We have found it is a pretty popular service, our user base has been growing steadily to just under 15,000 members at this moment in time, we are also the largest Bitcoin p2p lending site Smiley

Hi.
Do why dont you start official thread about BTCPOP in here?
It will for sure help in your credibility.
As to scam acucation, isnt account suspeding a bit dratic measure for some ridicoulus threats?
(all questions rhetorical)

It was the multiple accounts that was the main issue.

Other things was said in chat which prompted acusations from site users that we need to investigate, mainly to ensure that he has no other accounts that are in active or default loan status.

BTCPOP stole my deposit.  They won't let me withdraw the coins I deposited earlier today.  The customer service rep said I could withdraw but that I had 2 accounts and I was in big trouble for that.  I do not have 2 accounts, and they have no proof of such a thing and if they did, what right does that give them to steal my money?

Do not trust BTCPOP!   They blatently stole my BTC for no reason and make up false accusations that are completely baseless as justification to withhold my BTC!

How does making more than one account justify stealing my money, and the worst part, I DID NOT MAKE MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT!

Amount stolen from me by BTCPOP today:   0.16BTC STOLEN

Howdy all,

There will be a full update coming out in the next day or so. We will be releasing all the logs that contain the hackers IP addresses and actions along with the details of all the accounts he had been using.

The main account was Dappondestroyer and email address dapoondestroyer@yahoo.com

We are 95% sure we know who it is and will be sending details to police shortly, however there is 25btc up for grabs for anyone that had enough information to prove 100% who it was.

We will also be making rewards in btc if you are able to give us any new information (amount will be based upon the strength and worth of the information) It can all be done annon if wished Smiley
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Best website to give out loans? Btcjam or ? on: April 20, 2015, 08:04:48 AM
......
The main issue for any platform is that no platform can recover defaulted loans for you, you have to actively search out for scammers and hopefully work with them. Some people do have legitimate reasons whereas you have to make sure you don't get scammed.
.....

Btcpop works with an international collections agency to make a recovery....

If the payment is 21 days over due, it gets passed to them. 31 days overdue, you will get offered an insurance payout (the amount is set in the listing as it's being funded).

If collection is successful, the recovery less costs (which we also try to recover from the borrower) are passed to the investor.

It's still a new process and our first batch is due to go out to the recoveries agency this week Cheesy

Insured Loans & Auto investment tools

seems legit ...

Reads like an automatic money machine.
Would not invest there.

Oh how I wish it was !!!! Instead it is hard work, 15 hour days and hair loss lol

My background is from within the insurance industry (Mainly dealing with fraud cases so well equipped Wink  )

The insurance is at a set rate depending on the borrowers credit rating, anywhere between 10 & 100 % at the moment, however it will adjust depending on the levels held in reserve.

Auto investment tools are currently being built. It is up to the user if they use them or not.

They will allow investors to have set rules that the bots can use, ie "Invest 0.01 in any user with A rating loan less than 30 days" or "Invest x amount in User Y)"  They will be totally in the users control, and will report back profit and loss for each rule Smiley

We are also working on P2P buying and selling of Bitcoin from within the site !!!!

Take a look at the site if you haven't done already Smiley

Feel free to ask me any questions too (best to get me via the FB group or email as I don't check back here often) Smiley
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Best website to give out loans? Btcjam or ? on: February 01, 2015, 09:25:57 AM
Btcpop.co is the only P2P site that works against scammers.

There is a very active support system (Live support, phone number, Active Facebook group and their own forums coming online in a few days time).

They have tools like if you think a listing is a scammer, you can raise an alert and anyone else that tries to invest in that listing will be given a warning.

You can also cancel your listing and they offer insurance on listings too.

If you don't want to run the risk of investing in a scam, they have pool investments. You place your BTC in one of four pools (or spread) and every time a borrow pays back a loan out of the pool, you get a share of the interest based on how much of the pool you are funding Smiley

You can withdraw your funds out of the pool at any time and it's zero risk (works like a bank account).

From an document side, they request slightly more id than Jam do. They are also building in a process where ID needs to be checked by 3 members of a team for forgery and fakes.

You will find a lot of investors are moving to btcpop.co now from Jam.

Pop has just overtaken bitbond in to third place for p2p lending. There are not a huge amount of listings at around 30, but thats not too bad for a site that has not advertised yet !!!

New investors to the platform are advised to invest in to funds that are locked in to pop "meaning the borrower can not withdraw them", also for users with Trusted Member status.

I personally got really fed up with the lack of support from Jam (no response to emails when there is a major problem) and that they would not do anything to curb the high number of scammers on their site. I got so fed up I built btcpop.co Wink

A lot of them issues are addressed on Pop.

Those who use Jam will recognize a lot of the big investors Smiley

15  Economy / Economics / Re: Best website to give out loans? Btcjam or ? on: January 13, 2015, 06:51:40 PM
www.btcpop.co is a new P2P lending site.

It was built out of frustration with the lack of choices with the other sites, and the lack of willingness by them to deal with the amount of scam listings. There will soon be a forum to run along side it which is in great contrast to btcJam who block the words Facebook, Google from comments and can censor your comments if you discus loans outside of the platform  !!!!

There are some great features in it like being able to flag loans up as potential scams, being able to cancel your investments and Insurance, should a borrower not pay out as well as "Trusted Borrowers" and the saftey of being able to invest in loans that can not be withdrawn from the site.

It is still in test mode and will be for another week or so, but there are live loans on there and live investors. ฿30 has been repaid, ฿34 lent out in active loans and ฿28 currently funding.

There will be some exciting stuff happening there over the next few months too Wink

As I say, it is still in development but full launch is expected some time early next week.

Thanks Smiley

We have a lot more to do before we do a large scale advertising push, but we have put aside 10BTC for marketing and advertising. The first 2BTC will be run between now and Xmas, with the rest being pushed at 2Btc + 75% income from site being spent per month. Smiley

When we thought about names etc we had a google and not much came up.

The logo was done by an external agency.

Your right though, the name will confuse. We will have to look in to changing that.

Just had a look at bitgigs.com. How is it different? It's different in lots of ways. Bitgigs.com is a wordpress jobs board template, we have custom coded everything. Transactions will be done via us and held in Escrow until both parties agree work has been completed. Plus lots of other differences too Smiley

Hi quetzalcoatll , We will look at them in the morning.

With regards to difference with Fiverr etc, You will be paid out in BTC (Something Fivver will never do) and you are not restricted to working for $5. You can charge as little or much as you want to set.

If all goes well, we will be introducing physical services such as Babysitting, Gardening, Vehicle servicing etc Smiley
