It's really hard to find somebody that is going to hire you when you haven't put your skills here. What you can do and what you can't do. Easiest thing is to try these bounty campaigns, but they usually will pay after the end of ICO and some time period with these, if you do them well, 50$ shouldn't be hard to get. Another thing you may try is to search on other job related websites, it doesn't have to be for bitcoin as you should be able to easily switch fiat for bitcoin.

Some freelancer websites for btc/crypto:
https://blockchaindevjobs.com/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Jobs4Bitcoins/
https://crypto.jobs/
https://www.xbtfreelancer.com/

Thanks for those suggestions. I have already completed a job for $50 on that reddit page, but unfortunately got scammed Sad

I will continue looking for work. I dont know that I particularly have any specific skill sets. I have managed communities in the past, I have done some writing (although i'm not very skilled), and can do some minor graphics work (although i'm not that great). I am very proficient when it comes to things on the computer. I am incredibly knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and have been using it for 6+ years.

I am primarily looking for any time consuming repetitive tasks that require little prerequisite skill.
3  Economy / Services / Re: I Need USA Male voice over [BTC Payment] on: April 07, 2018, 07:16:32 AM
If you haven't picked anyone yet for this job, i'd be interested to do it for $5. I have an American accent, PM me if we have a deal.

Can you share a sample of your gig

I do not have any samples of previous work. If you send me your text, I can narrate it for you. I will send back just brief clipping of the narration as the sample. If you don't like my narration for any reason, then I would not send the whole audio file and you would not have to pay for anything.
4  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Facebook Scandal and what it means for Bitcoin on: April 05, 2018, 06:17:45 PM
I am not directly informed regarding this subject, so my opinion is based only on my personal assumptions from information currently available. I don't think that this Facebook scandal will amount to much. I think that we will find that the whistleblower is grossly misrepresenting the effectiveness of Cambridge Analytica and their invasion of our privacy.

You have to remember, Facebook is a social media platform. Cambridge Analytica only got access to information posted to peoples profiles. A majority of these individuals affected have profiles that are made public, which means anyone had access to that information. The only individuals whose security is truly considered "compromised" is any individuals with privacy settings.

I think that the only reason this story has gained so much traction is that of Cambridge Analytica's ties to the Trump Campaign. Facebook will release any information that was compromised and individuals will likely see for themselves that they don't really care about the leak. If you want to protect your information, don't be giving authorization to every stupid application that asks for it.

-I don't think that bitcoin plays any roll in this "Facebook Scandal" nor should it.

-If you want to talk about real invasion of privacy, we should be looking into Google Adsense.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know we all feel sad - let's cry here on: April 05, 2018, 06:01:03 PM
I feel that "sad" is a poor choice of words. I want to see bitcoin growth and am not enthusiastic about its decline in price. I think it is important to remember though, that the price is still higher than what it was 6 months ago. Most people who are buying into bitcoin for the long run are not really looking that closely to the month swings. Bitcoin price is still up an exponential amount of what it was just a few years ago. I think it is important to remember this when reflecting upon short-term price swings.

I will gladly do this for $5. Please pm me the text and any specific requests/details. I have an American accent and a quality microphone for recording. I can export the recording into whatever sound format you would like and drop box the file to you.
7  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for ICO Team Positions to Fill... on: April 05, 2018, 07:20:41 AM
I would like to submit myself for consideration for the Bounty Manager position. If accepted I would be able to work accurately, efficiently, and with great dependability. You could be able to focus all of your attention towards the success of your ICO while I relieve any burden of managing bounty campaigns.

I would keep very detailed yet digestible records of each participant. I would personally monitor all participants and validate that every individual is complying with any standards set forth by you and this community.

I am willing to work at a competitive and fair rate. Because I so eagerly want to establish myself with this forum, I would be exerting immense dedication to the task. If chosen I would let you determine the compensation that you think is fair for the work that is completed (only after you are satisfied).

I would like to submit some of my posts for consideration. I am new to the forum and have yet to receive any merits. I created these posts with the intention of informing individuals, not to gain merits (however they would be appreciated).

I do not simply want a merit handout. If you do not think that my post deserves merit, please DO NOT give me any.

10  Economy / Economics / Re: If the government supports bitcoin instead of the existing currency. on: April 05, 2018, 05:52:55 AM
This goes against the very nature of Bitcoin itself. The whole purpose of the cryptocurrency is to be a decentralized currency that is not controlled by any governing agency. I think you are assuming that only positive things would come out of a government's regulatory use of cryptocurrency.

Entangling the success of a cryptocurrency with the success of a government imposes many risks. Cryptocurrency needs to stand alone on its own merits. Governments are prone to war, shifts in power, and corruption. Only because cryptocurrency is not backed by any government agency, it can outlive any governing body.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoins taxable? on: April 05, 2018, 05:37:14 AM
i think bitcoin itself cannot be tax, i cant think of a way how to tax it, the only way that the government tax the crypto is through centralized exchange and merchants that accepts bitcoin or altcoins.

I think you are confusing the government's ability to tax bitcoin with the requirement to pay taxes on bitcoin. The government certainly is at a massive disadvantage when it comes to determining the accuracy of an individuals tax filings when it comes to bitcoin. Just because the government is not able to easily hold us accountable, does not mean that taxes simply do not have to be paid.

Bitcoin is still a capital asset. If income is made in the form of bitcoin, it still needs to be taxed as income. If an individual makes a realized gain from the sale of their bitcoin, then that profit is subject to taxation as well.

If an individual avoids paying taxes on their Bitcoin, they are going to run into troubles whenever they try and spend it. Most legitimate exchanges will report large transactions to the IRS. If you accept large payments in exchange for your Bitcoin, the IRS will be able to track that. If you do not pay taxes you will not be able to make any large purchases without the IRS being able to determine you are committing tax fraud.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money on: April 05, 2018, 04:43:30 AM
One of the core principles of Bitcoin is that it is a decentralized system. There is no governing authority over the Bitcoin platform. This ideology outlined in the original white papers played an integral part in its success. I believe that for many reasons, it is important to maintain this platform for any cryptocurrency. This means that at no point should cryptocurrency become regulated. I think that it is important to recognize that accountability and regulation are not always the same.  Cryptocurrency can by nature remain unregulated while at the same time allowing for individuals to be held accountable.

There is a common misconception that cryptocurrency exists solely to facilitate criminal or nefarious transactions. The unregulated frontier of these new digital currencies brings a whole new area of consequences. There certainly are many real threats to having an unregulated currency. These threats can however be mitigated if individauls commit to identifying and neutralizing them.

Privacy is an important part of cryptocurrency that should not be compromised. An individual waives that right to privacy any time they accept or send their cryptocurrency to an individual. Any individual with enough motivation could in theory act as their own authority to hold individuals accountable for their actions. The question should not be 'How do we regulate', but instead 'How do we hold individuals accountable for their actions'. It is up to each individual sending or receiving cryptocurrency to determine whether or not there is a need to do hold that individual accountable.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoins taxable? on: April 05, 2018, 04:00:16 AM
There is a lot of misinformation in this thread regarding the legality of avoiding taxes. Given that there are 21 pages on this thread regarding the subject, I am sure what I am about to say has been said before. The last thing that I want is to see any bitcoin supporter go to jail for tax evasion, so I will reiterate what I know to be true.

(I am basing my response off of the United States Tax Laws, however, this will likely apply to most other countries as well.)

YES, you do have to pay taxes on cryptocurrency! Cryptocurrency has some uncertainty whether or not its to be treated as a currency or a commodity... but one thing is certain, it is certainly considered a capital asset.

As we all know, the price of cryptocurrency certainly can fluctuate. Now one huge misconception is that if you hold on to a cryptocurrency that goes up in value, your going to have to pay huge amounts of taxes if you end up filing taxes while the price is high. The obvious fear there would be that if you pay taxes at a high evaluation, then the price lowers before you sell it, you would be paying taxes on unrealized gains.

The only taxes that an individual is expected to pay is on realized gains. In order to file taxes, you must keep track of the following:

1) The date, amount, and cost/price of every time you have bought the cryptocurrency
2) The date, amount and price of every time you end up selling the cryptocurrency.

Using this information, it is possible to determine the actual realized gains. If the sale of the cryptocurrency comes less than a year after the purchasing date, then it is taxed as income (a much higher rate). If you have held on to the cryptocurrency for longer then a year, the gains are taxed at a much lower rate.
