1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Get your fair share - NOW on: March 07, 2014, 06:41:08 AM
Re: Malware.

I have the wallet installed in a (Windows Vista) virtual machine that only has this wallet, Avast! anti-virus, Malwarebytes with the pro trial in effect and now that Zemana keylogger protection installed. I have received no anti-virus/keylogger/malware warning, even after generating a couple of extra addresses and trying the clipboard copy thing.  I got my copy from fair-coin.info's Mega.co.nz link.

You don't know me from Adam, but I don't see the proper wallet being the source of any infection.

Has anyone else noticed a clash with FOXcoin? Same port and at least one familiar UI element.

Just confirming that you can't use an ASIC for the SHA-256 part and a GPU for the Scrypt part. As currently implemented it's ASIC or GPU for SHA-256 and CPU for Scrypt, yes?

Or in other words, if I have a LTC mining rig with a high end graphics card, I could add some old ASICs and mine MED without either interfering with the LTC mining or short-changing myself on the MED mining?

Interesting idea.

Nice app. When work starts up again for me there's a person with a Surface RT tablet that I know will have fun with this, so thanks for doing the RT version.

There's a CPU/GPU miner on the Windows 8 store by "GroupFabric". I registered here to thank them for making a Windows RT version.
