Bitcoinica appears to be functioning again.

I am also getting the "No Reserve" status and I'm attempting to sell short.

I made money on the rise in prices earlier today. But do you really think that it is going to continue to go straight up?

6  Economy / Economics / Re: Deflation and Bitcoin, the last word on this forum on: December 04, 2011, 03:19:04 PM
There is no link between deflation and poor economic conditions. Here is a study of the data for 17 countries over a period of more than a 100 years which concluded: "The data suggest that deflation is not closely related to depression. A broad historical look finds
many more periods of deflation with reasonable growth than with depression and many more periods
of depression with inflation than with deflation. Overall, the data show virtually no link between
deflation and depression."

This sounds like an interesting idea. I think that sending educational brochures to a target audience could be beneficial. However, I am skeptical if a moneybomb which has proved to be effective in political campaigns would be good for the Bitcoin market, or if it would just create a surge in prices which would be followed by increased volatility.

I think the basic idea is that the average spammer or troll wouldn't be patient enough to post 5 times and spend 4 hours on the site just to be able to post on the main boards. Although it is a little annoying, it seems to be a decent idea and I've been on other forums which required much more posting to gain full access.

I think that crypto-currency is here to stay but I am not sure if Bitcoin will always be the go to crypto-currency.

I will probably chill in the economics section.

What are you proposing the money would go towards? Do you just want to have a whole bunch of people to buy Bitcoins on the same day to cause a price spike? Do you mean for the forum? BTW I've been on your site before and enjoyed my time reading there:)

I am randomusername8236 I've been reading posts and trading since around June, and thought perhaps I've become knowledgeable enough to add to the discussion on the fascinating phenomenon which is Bitcoin.
