1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why does Bitcoin seem to always rally in December? on: December 19, 2018, 09:47:00 PM
My theory is that people buy it as holiday gifts.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC Parity with Gold? on: December 16, 2018, 01:00:26 PM
It could be argued that gold is priced somewhat arbitrarily, based on market demand as a store of value -- exactly like BTC.   However gold is a physical product and has real-world uses as an element.

With all that taken into account, will the market drive them to general parity?  Like the Euro/Dollar?

All forks do is prove that you can't replicate the trust and history that Bitcoin has earned.

does appear that the forks have watered down the soup
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were in charge of Bitcoin 2.0 what would you change? on: December 15, 2018, 07:35:05 PM
What kind of development team has stated that it wants to run Bitcoin 2.0?

I think people need fast and cheap transactions. Now the transaction rate is very long

There's no team in particular, just hypothetical.  Some great insights in this thread though, wow.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / If you were in charge of Bitcoin 2.0 what would you change? on: December 15, 2018, 03:54:06 AM
At this point, as masterfully as Bitcoin was created, it has some limitations of course.

My question is:  Could it be done better, or is it just matter of trading one feature for another (i.e. speed for decentralization)?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Bitcoin the AOL of crypto? on: December 13, 2018, 10:28:04 PM
Been giving this some thought, and although I'm a serious BTC enthusiast, it just seems that it the idea of alerting the entire internet every time someone buys a pack of gum is never going to work.

Decentralization is great but isn't this a fundamental flaw that will make it impossible for it to become an every-day payment method?

as long as crypto currency exist then bitcoin will continue to be the first and number one coin in its field.

agree completely.  The only question is if it will become like AOL -- a great pioneer but ultimately replaced with changing times
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Justic Dept Investigating BTC Price Manipulation in USA on: May 24, 2018, 05:29:32 PM
This will be heart-breaking if it is true.   But I have suspected for a while that maybe the small BTC investor (i.e. ME) is getting played:

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC Blockchain Tech to Combat Fake News on: April 20, 2018, 06:22:46 PM
I read that the founder of Wikipedia is trying to figure out how to combat fake news with blockchain from Bitcoin.  Anyone with tech knowledge know how this could work?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin just an asset ? on: April 20, 2018, 04:24:20 PM
I have read in the news that that like bitcoin as virtual currencies are assets and does not have the characteristics or what it takes to be a currency that could meet our modern economic needs. It was said that it does not have the fundamental attributes. What are your thoughts about it?

I think at this point it is just an asset.  It is too inconvenient and (sorry to say) terrible security risks.  BTC has inherent flaws that cannot be solved without a hard fork and overhaul.

There will be a new generation of cryptos that resolve these issues, and they will be usable currencies.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency kills people on: April 19, 2018, 02:58:47 PM
Ive read an article about Bill Gates saying that cryptocurrencies kills people. He explained that crypto provokes people to hide thier financial transactions from the government, and revolutionizing terrorism, financial crime etc. Some people use crypto to buy drugs, bombs, guns that are use for drug dealing and terrorism that kills people 'in a fairly direct way'

I think Gates is somehow right about this. But i think it depends on the people who are using cryptocurrency, if they will use it in a good way or in a bad way. What do you think?

it's just a negative point of view about bitcoin, bitcoin is not a reason to kill people, then what about fiat or gold, can not it be a reason to kill people?

I agree it's too generalized.  Following this logic you could say that any form of payment is lethal.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What gives Bitcoin its value? on: April 18, 2018, 10:23:31 PM
Bitcoin is based on the same thing as the US Dollar... nothing except the trust of the people who use it.  Not necessarily a bad thing.

As long as it remains untouched by major news and generally negative reports, it should be opposition free in its recovery.

Exactly!
