ZEITCoin Holders should start monitoring this topic on a weekly basis.
Discussion have begun of a swap to new code.
If the swap does take place it will only last for 30 days.
Swap will be optional, but no further support will be available for the old chain after swap.
So if you plan to stay behind, plan on being the only one supporting the old chain.
Will update when more information is available.
Sounds great.... I was just about to add the Wallet.dat to my "what if folder" and delete my node lol. I figured I should check here first... glad I did. I remmber when that junk pile called DogeCoinDark got delisted from everywhere, I deleted everything... then it became Verge! I missed a massive run up and I would still be ahead! Is there a Github repo I should be following? What is the new codebase? Dash with Private Send? Erc20 Token? Something else? Will Yo-Bit be contacted and asked to swap to new chain? :-) |

Observations:

Current wallet sucks as it's so old and out of date I can't compile it as some of the dependencies aren't even available.
After not running a wallet for 4 1/2 months it seems impossible to update my node. (Snapshot is 53 days old)
Dude, the Snapshot & BootStrap was updated 1-04-2020, ie: Yesterday.  Links on the OP. How about a change to a masternode?
Perhaps one that offers a higher rate of interest to the zeit knights? Like 1% for holding 100 million.
Masternode are a scam to take coins out of circulation, so it is easier to pump the price for a brief period. Everyone earns the same rate, no elitism in ZEIT. The rate is low enough that no one can use their interest alone to get rich while never selling their principle. The reason the price is finally stabilizing is the Ultra Low interest rate and that some are providing liquidity to the markets so that ZEIT is suitable for micro-payments, a utility bitcoin loss and ZEIT is better at than their upcoming LN system. Also since the ULI is in effect the whale that has been artificially keeping the price low is running out of coins. Knights are less than 15 now, and it is my understanding their will be no new ones ever. Their support kept the coin alive until now, but the future support has to be by the community with the focus on micro-payments as the main utility. As far as the size of the community, personally I have no idea, as many are silient. Right on! thanks for the update on the bootstrap. Who makes them? I would like to thank them. I am gonna run my node at home for now and If I ever get a linux binary I will run one full time. well with there being no more knights ever seems odd. i would buy 100 million at this price if there seemed to be a drive to move forward. I agree with you about LN but just being suitable for micro payments doesn't make zeit used for micro payments, there are chunks of blocks that are 1000 blocks long where the only transaction is the miner reward. It's sad really because at the moment Zeit is like a blank canvas. A bunch of us could get together and make it into something. Anyways just my thoughts. Also another thought I used to have a pile of coins on cryptopia, anyone ever find anything out? According to the liquidator they have spoken to all the coin devs. Does zeit have representation? Or are they gonna just dump all the zeit? |

The current wallet is pig on resources.
Overall lack of interest in the project.
I guess Zeit gives me a nostalgic feeling that hearken back to my early days crypto, so I still have an interest in it. I remember owning Dogecoin Dark when it got delisted from bittrex. I dumped, then a year 1/2 later it's huge! rebranded as Verge, I missed out. So I thought to myself why dump any "shit coins" that I have less then $100 of? I have backed up wallets of junk that I just leave on USB. At this point I don't care about them.
However for some reason I have tried to keep my zeitcoin wallet up to date. Perhaps it's the Idea of the "Zeit Knights" Huge whales with big bags may work together to create an eco-system.
I would like see what potential Zeit has to grow... this can only be measured by participation of the network.
The network being it's community.
Has anyone considered taking a snapshot of the UTXO set then recreating a new zeitcoin wallet?
Other then sitting and waiting for newcomers to buy old bags is there any other game plan?

Special request, I have an older Linux computer in an industrial building that I could use to run a full node and help the network, I can't seem to compile the binaries. Is there a Linux/Ubuntu binary available anywhere?

Anyone that swaps ZEIT for your recently made up token , deserves the financial loss such nonsense deserves. Their are litecoin & dogecoin markets for anyone wanting to swap their coins. Don't be hard on they guy Lol. It's seems at the moment other then speculation the only thing you spend zeitcoins IS other tokens. I am of the view that anyone accepting zeitcoin for any product or service is okay. That being said I don't want buddies gator coin. Lol |

Enthusiasm is non-existent for a guy expecting to literally double his litecoin holdings using ZEIT as the investment to make that happen. (According to his video.)He has a working wallet, but also claims it is a dead coin. Definition of a dead coin is no working wallet and a frozen blockchain. ZEIT wallet works and it blockchain is updating constantly. He accurately points out there have been no github updates. No need to fix what is not broken. Updates made to PoS coins in that time were moving from coin-age to block depth which has proven to be a mistake , as moving to block depth introduced fake staking issues in those other coins based on pivx code. So far there has been no major improvement of PoS coins for ZEIT to incorporate into it's design. Can't make up my mind of whether the guy was doing a hit piece on ZEIT or an investment piece, there are hints at both.  Your final statement seems to be correct, a bit of both I guess. But I look at it as even bad news is good as people are discovering Zeit even if it's looking into making a quick buck. As long as it gets people talking. Having working nodes is always good too. |

I have a over thousand XMG which is meaningless at this price now I stake them in a wallet but if this coin is gonna die I anyways I would give %25 to make a open honest development fund.
Does anyone else like this Idea?
wow - you would like to donate $0.28?? that has potential not just to save magicoin, but to save the world as well! Lol well I see your point, In my minds eye 250 XMG is worth a little more than that Like $25 hehe, Anyways I guess the point is if there was an active dev the coins could rise in value. |

CPU/Pi wallets and Mining are greatest features of MAGI and brought me here before. It would be a shame if all these could not be continued and prosper, considering all the talents supporting this cryptocurrency. why market keep falling?
It seems there is little to no community or activity .... hence no demand. Also the only exchange that trades the coin is CCex, which is having major issues. The only way for the price to rise is more interest in the coin or adding more exchanges.... the dev also mentioned perhaps adding masternodes which would help.... I have been running a node but since things are dying I have decided to move all my coins to ccex and delete my node. I havent sold any yet but I may if I don't hear from the dev in the new year.... |

BitQuark is alive and well. We are about to go through our first block halving. We are also looking into adding masternodes! Is this still a thing? In the discord you mention getting locked out of your trading account, is that fixed? |

The coin is going through a dry spell. :-) Basically a new exchange is needed. who will pay the exchange fee? Nobody I guess.... does they dev have any ideas? Maybe a small fund? Or perhaps there is a small exchanges that are cheap? With all the hashwars going around you'd think a CPU coin would show merit.... |

I am connected.... So now that we see the hash war in the ASIC/SHA256 world hopefully all of us appreciate the CPU coin that is magi. ASIC mining has merit however I like CPU mining as all can participate.

I agree, but don't you agree Joe should come out and say something? Lol why? Should satoshi perhaps say something about bitcoin? I don't know joe but things could be worse, this could be another another Litecoin fork like countless other shit coins. We have something different here. A hash algo that creates a true one cpu one vote in regards to mining. After looking through this, it is my favorite coin from a mining point of view! If joe gets hit by a bus we are still in a good place. The coin is old which is also good. Anecdotally If we look back at how long a coin has been around it will be a good predictor of how much longer it will last. Bitcoin is 10 So it will make it at min another 10. Magi is 5 so statistically it will be around another minimum of 5. ( I get this line of reasoning from Musical Theater Plays as how ever long a musical play is popular to date tends to be half way through it life cycle) Lol :-) You may bet on your investment on Joe, that's cool, Me? I invest time, money and computing resource to Nodes.... aka Network Effect .... which becomes adoption. Right now my wallet has 11 connections, there are 96 Full nodes online with half probably mining pools, Block explorers and exchanges. Lets' say 50 nodes are real human users of XMG we should set a goal of each of us getting 1 friend or family memeber a XMG wallet and give them 150 coins to stake with. Actually I just decided to make it my secret santa gift Lol a USB stick with pre installed wallet and 150 coins to stake... the only gift you'll get that will keep on giving. (Along with free installation) Secret Santa has to be "home made" this year anyways. Anyways we need nodes... don't worry about satoshi joe :-) Worst case Ontario we will fork the code next year if he doesn't come back. |

I get that people are upset about losing bittrex but in the end the success of Magi boils down a community of users. The dev can make the best wallet on earth with every colorful icon imaginable and get magi pay running like a clock, but if nobody accepts it as payment and the blocks stay empty there is no use. I got into magi about a month back because of Cpu mining, I have a gpu rig which is not profitable because of asics. Even Lyra algo now has asics. I am currently trying to get some friends into crypto during my up coming winter break, of course all of them want to mine something as they are all to scared to put in hard earned money. With the current dip I have bought a bunch of XMG at low prices so I can give them about 150 coin each so they can run a staking wallet and CPU mine on a pool. Atm they only way I can support the XMG community is to help spread the word on foot. Also XMG at this low price is in a position to help people learn crypto. It is a no brainer, The Block chain fits on my USB stick, my buds can learn to run a wallet, stake a coin and mine! All in one visit to their homes! Lets all pitch in and grow the number of network nodes and users for now, forget price for the coming year and try to get a 1000 nodes by this time next year!! Price will follow, along with more devs, mobile wallets and P2P/POS systems.
Just my 2 Cents. We can't just sit around waiting for the dev to make us rich lol. That's crazy why should he carry all of us and our investments of money or hash power on his back? We are not his boss! Think about it, he does not owe us anything! This coin was not an ICO! We owe it to ourselves to stop bickering about dev posts and spread some nodes!

BTW if you can run a full node please do so! Don't worry about MIA dev cause if he is gone for too long and we have a huge network we can fork the Github and other devs would be happy to update wallets for an established network.

I don't know what happened to this exchange nowadays, I don't C-Cex can steal away trader's balances as there is no such evident but the situation they have created nowadays is condemner. Personally, my 4 Altcoins--ZZC, SIBCOIN, BURST and EVR are stuck since long in the form of deposit/withdraw, yet they are unable to resolve a single of them. I believe that the problem is with their Support team, they can't handle queries in time and efficiently, I don't know how to contact them as every channel is silent nowadays, however, we can just request to clear these issues sooner as possible because C-cex is losing their credibility in Crypto market gradually.
Sell and withdraw with a working coin, like Ltc or ETC or BBP. Always do a micro transaction first. I had a bunch of Burst on Ccex when I did a small withdraw I saw it did not work. Seems alot of their coins are out of date chains/wallets. I don't know if they ever plan to do a site update or anything. They are pretty quiet about whats going on, which is kinda scary. Before when they where admitting to issues I wasn't worried, but now I am. I think if they just shut things down for a bit and took a week to update coins one at a time in limited service mode or something it would do alot of good. I mean if they had some communication like a limited service mode with a *daily* tweet, like -Begun Syncing XYZ coin wallet today Or - Installed new XYZ wallet or whatever. I'd be happy if they even gave an estimate as to how long it will take to replace the doge and ltc. Like 1 year or 2? |

For all holders of Bitcoin Cash and Ethererum Classic, their lives have become much comfortable with the newest integration of cross-chain bridge between these two.
