On that note, I'm selling some of mine. 5000 CAT for 0.8 BTC per 1000 CAT. Get them while they're still cheap!

Given the current prices you're seeing, you wouldn't even have to be dealing in fractions; 1 CAT is fairly close to fiat values.

But exchanges will.

Coin value is fairly irrelevant for adoption. You can just buy fractions, after all. Once it gets on an exchange, at least.

It's meaningless as long as you don't hop between pools, and try to only stop mining right when a block's been found.

For scrypt-based coins (like Litecoin), you'll need some fast AMD GPUs (don't bother with Nvidia unless you already have some - they're pretty bad for mining).

For SHA256-based coins (like Bitcoin), it's all ASICs.

If you were unable to figure this out by googling, you probably don't have what it takes to run a pool. Pools need a lot of system resources and are constantly at risk of being DDoS'd or hacked. And if that happens, or the system bugs out, people are going to be mad at you, and it'll only get worse if you can't fix it in time. Money's on the line, after all.

Please attach a screenshot or post the log of your miner, your post is too vague.
If I were to guess, though, your miner probably needs the login details to a mining pool. If you haven't signed up for one yet, look around for a good one with good reputation for whatever cryptocurrency you're planning to mine. Solo mining is also possible (in which case you'll have to supply your *coin client's RPC login details to your miner) - but this is almost never a good idea as the chances you'll find a block on your own are extremely slim in almost all cases.

First thing you should probably look at is whether people will use your Robocoin. Do you have a place to put it where you can imagine lots of traffic coming to it?
