1  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: bitminter.com relaunch *** 6-11% MORE BITCOINS *** (details inside) on: July 08, 2011, 04:06:07 PM
Great concept in theory, but I cannot for the life of me get it to come even close the my Phoenix 1.50 + modified Phatk kernel results.

5850 @ 980/370 Mhz worksize 256
Pheonix: 403~
Bitminter: 360~

Quite a bit of difference! I'll try to fiddle around with it later, might possibly be Java slowing it.

Edit: Ok, so I changed the break interval to 1000ms and using the latest Java 7 JRE, and I saw results up to 440~, Incredible!
However, the miner fluctuates very badly. Since it's updating every second because of the break interval, you see it hit that really high number, then go to 360~, then even down to 320~ after that, then right back to 440~

If somehow that could be fixed, the fluctuations, this would definitely be my miner of choice

If it turns out being the second time my coins at MyBitCoin are lost, I'm going to be furious.

I had 10.08 the first time, and another 10 or so this time. 20 bitcoins just vanishing into thin air because MyBitCoin can't be professional?

Time to start storing them locally, and spending my newly generated coins lawyering up.

I lost 10 bitcoins when my account at MyBitcoins was compromised from the Mt. Gox incident.

Believe it or not, I was on vacaction when this was all happening. Oddly enough, I was only checking in on my pool status while I was away, mainly concerned that my machines would turn off.

Then I get home and whatever I had in my wallet at MyBitcoins (10.08) was taken on June 21st to the following address:
Code:
1MAazCWMydsQB5ynYXqSGQDjNQMN3HFmEu

Chump change for some, but I've been saving up for a camera. My estimated calculations put the date around two months from now since my coins have been stolen. I really miss those 10 coins  Cry

Hmm i have never OC'ed, my current memory is 1000, if i set it to 1200 im making it higher.. ? I thought i wanted to lower it?

In MSI Afterburner and other programs, they are displaying the memory clock before multiplying. Because the memory is GDDR5, it's bandwidth is 4 times as fast. So, a clock of 1000 actually equals 4000.

In the Sapphire TRIXX program, you edit the multiplied number. So, a value of 1200 is actually 300x4 (which is what I put in parentheses)

The more you know!

EDIT: I realized that there's an option in TRIXX to "Show effective memory clocks". If you have this disabled, you would choose 300 for your memory, otherwise you choose 1200.

Don't use 2.2, bugs and low performance. SDK 2.1 or even 2.4 would be better. I have 3 Xtreme 5850s and they all mine at around 358~ with a modest overclock (900 core, 300 mem)

Here's what you want to do:

1. Uninstall all ATI drivers and software through control panel
2. Run this script to clean up the rest, Genetix Cleaner v4.85 - http://www.mediafire.com/?1dkuw184mdzc65d
3. Download and install Xtreme-G 10.10 Win7 32-64bit - http://www.mediafire.com/?ccl57w7l3wf4m8x
4. Download and install ATI Stream 2.1 SDK - http://developer.amd.com/Downloads/ati-stream-sdk-v2.1-vista-win7-64.exe
5. Download and install Sapphire TRIXX - http://us.sapphiretech.com/archive/gm/drivers/SAPPHIRE_TriXX_Installer_v4.0_634402083351463953.1.exe
6. Set core to 900, memory to 1200 (300x4), and voltage to 1100
OPTIONAL: Set fan speed to 100%

Enjoy high GHashes at 50°C~!
