They buy spam lists, then fake password reset requests to spam their site. Smells like scammers to me. At the very least, they're very sketchy. I would stay the heck away.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex = Scam exchange beware. on: June 16, 2017, 02:46:46 PM
They've been spamming me 6 times a day from a no-reply email address:

Quote
This email is to notify you of a successful login to your Poloniex account from an IP address not previously associated with this account.

Username/email: cen@so.red
IP Address: 94.181.136.242

If you do not recognize this login, you should freeze your account immediately and contact support.

So I click the "freeze account" button, and they claim my account is frozen, that I have to contact support.

How do you contact support? BY LOGGING IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT. *facepalm*
There's no other way, period. And the irony?

I still get spammed 6 times a day. So their "freeze account" button is either a lie, broken, or they really are scammers.

Either way, I wouldn't trust them with a penny.

And by the way, I never had an account there. So they bought my email from some other spammers.
I don't really understand it. You don't have an account there, and they are spamming you with that your account is frozen? Wtf? If you don't have an account there, it's probably a scam, but not by poloniex. Several pools and shit were hacked in the past, so your address can be out there for a while.

Mail from: mail2.poloniex.com so yes, it's them. And yes, it's spam.
I searched my emails from top to bottom and have never registered there. They probably bought my email from a dead exchange.

Have you tried a new wallet.dat and importing the private key from the old wallet? This would be a last resort type of action.

Thanks a lot, that did it. Coin count went up and transactions started confirming. I went back in backups as far as three weeks and couldn't make it work, so.. thanks!  Smiley

hmm but the block count is the same that's reported on http://frk.cryptocoinexplorer.com/ ?

Edit: Thanks for the help, I'll keep trying older backups to see if I can pull any coins off of there...

Hey guys I need some help. I'm mining Franko and all the coins I receive I cannot send, they never confirm. I tried to a few different addresses to different wallets, same thing.

If I restore the wallet from a backup, the coins re-appear in the original wallet. I try to send again... same thing, no confirmation, nothing on the other end. Restore again, all back again. The blockchain is sync'ed in every wallet to what the explorer reports. Delete blockchain, restore backup... back to square one.

Completely out of ideas. Help?

I am not sure if you have addressed this but why does the wallet qt file say franko-0.8.5.3-win32-setup, but the qt-about Franko says v0.8.4.1-30-gf72f452-beta?

+1
Was troubleshooting a transaction issue and noticed this as well.

So.. how do you get support on cryptsy?

Coins are missing, staff are ignoring the ticket completely.

Is this the sort of site you need to go on reddit or twitter to shame to get support?

What the hell...

Rizon is banning all miners/seeds. Devs, can we get an updated wallet please? Need another IRC network...

Is it just me or is there more than 1 blockchain going around?

Two wallets, completely different blocks. Resync just resyncs the bad chain from the peers.

Anyone got nodes of the good blockchain to sync from?

thanks

Edit: Never mind.. bad wallet version. Can we get a notification like litecoin when a mandatory update is released?
