1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Real Time Order Book with WebSockets on: August 18, 2011, 03:26:19 AM
Anyone using Chrome 14 Beta having issues?  Going from 12 to 14 seems to have broken WebSockets for me Sad

Cheers,
Kermee

I'm having the same issue one two different PCs both running Chrome 14.0.835.94 Beta-m. I'm also having the issue with the canary channel build which is currently version 15.0.855.0 canary.

Currently the site works in Firefox 5 after changing the about:config setting network.websocket.override-security-block so that's what I'm using. The same setting does not work in FF6 so don't upgrade.

Heres a quick run down on my windows box.
Not working in...
Chrome 14.0.835.94 Beta-m
Chrome 15.0.855.0 canary
Firefox 6.0 (not even with network.websocket.override-security-block set to true)
Firefox Aurora 7.0a2 (2011-08-16)

Works in...
Firefox 5 (with network.websocket.override-security-block set to true)
Chrome 13.0.782.112 m
2  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: another 3% mining increase with poclbm kernel.cl on: June 29, 2011, 04:57:13 AM
I made this change for my two 6950's (unlocked 908/310 and 850/310). The one clocked at 908 went up about 1 MH/s while the other went up 3-4 MH/s . I did the initial 3% increase mod and my rate shot up from 380 MH/S to 404 MH/s. To say the least I was more then pleased. After making this change it went from 404 to 405 (I sometimes see it jump to 405.Cool. I'm not sure about my other cards numbers pre initial 3% increase but I remember it was on track with 3%.

I'm going to keep my eye on stales and make sure they don't creep up. I'm not too worried.

Every bit helps. Thanks!

I'm having the same exact issue. I'll have to try the actual monitor plugged in. After that I'll also give linux a quick go. I have a live disc ready.

I only had a monitor hooked up to this machine when initially setting it up so all my numbers are coming from viewing VIA teamviewer.

One thing I've noticed about the 100% CPU utilization is that my GPUs are not always at 99%. I've seen them drop as low as 89% for a moment. Generally they bounce around from 95% to 99%.

Just some system info...
Sempron 140
6950 unlocked at 580/310 using Poclbm with flags -v -w 128 -f 2
5850 580/300 using phoenix with flags -k phatk VECTORS BFI_INT AGGRESSION=7 worksize=128
2 GB DDR2 GSkill ram (single stick)
950 watt PSU (800 sustained)
Windows 7 64-bit
CCC 11.6
SDK 2.4 (I believe thats the version that comes with CCC 11.6)

I've been mining for over a month now and I'm running ~1.4 GH/s (soon to be ~1.7). My system makeup is currently 6950 unlocked x2, a 5830 (soon to be 2), and a 5850.  Hodge podge I know. The 6950s are for my main system and the 5830s I managed to snag from newegg. The 5850 was a craigslist deal.

Wow Johnnvm that sounds impressive. I would be interested in new software for the community. What language would you be using? I'm def interested especially if its open source.

Hey there I kind of like how you guys are limiting n00b posts to this forum but it caught me off guard. I was going to respond to a thread in another forum but was unable to. I know I'm part of this n00b rush but I've put a lot of time and research into this. For the most part in most forums I'm a lurker. I sign up and post only when necessary. Its not that I don't care about the community I just rather read. That being said the 50 post "level up" will be really hard for me to reach.

I would like to prove my knowledge about bitcoin and mining.

I have a 6950 unlocked. I've experimented with Phoenix command line using both the phatk and poclbm kernals. I've tried Phoenix Rising as well as GUIMiner. I've experimented with core clock speeds and memory clock speeds on my GPU and various flags and have so far achieved 394 MHash/s on a win 7 64-bit setup. Later today I plan on experimenting with an SD card and linux. See what kind of power I can get from that.

I have a local wallet and I've backed it up securely (bi-daily backup with pgp encryption and dropbox/external storage).

I have read about people using linux with a specific wallet account and an encrypted home directory. I'm thinking of trying that out.

I know the market will fluctuate and BTC may not be worth a whole ton. To me this has become a new hobby. A competition between me and my hardware. Pushing it as far as possible. While it would be nice to make a little money its not why I'm here.

Would all the GPUs be the same make/model and board? If I knew exactly what I was getting I would be interested.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Non Reference Sapphire 6950 2GB Unlock? on: June 09, 2011, 02:58:19 AM
I've been doing some reading on flashing and unlocking. From what I can tell there seems to be some benefits to overclocking after flashing with the 6970 BIOS. I've read that some people have been able to obtain higher clock speeds than with the stock 6950 BIOS.

Once I get my card and unlock (if possible) and flash it I'll be sure to share my finding.

I'm curious what speed did you get from the card? I know someone that has one of these cards and he offered it for use. I haven't put it in my system yet to test it out.
