I can if I get enough demand for it. Unfortunately I'm using bitcoinaverage at the moment, and I'd have to find a new site that has 24 hour historical data for the other coins. If you let me know which coins in particular you want to track (even better, a website that has 24-hour historical data for it) then I can look into it.

Hello everyone,

I just released a live wallpaper for Android that tracks the current price in bitcoin and also displays the latest 40 mins to 24 hours of prices on a graph. It's completely free and if you want to see what it looks like, you can get it in the Google Play Store (link).

Features:
  • Supports USD, EUR, CNY, GBP, and CAD
  • Customizable time range between points (5, 15, 30, and 60 min)
  • Customizable number of points shown (8, 16, 24)
  • Adjustable top and bottom margin in case launcher icons, etc are hiding the wallpaper

There will be plenty of features to come in the future, but I figured I'd release the app in it's current state to see if there is actually demand. I will be adding more currency support (please let me know which ones you want). I will also be adding an option to change the line color and background color (please tell me which colors you want). I may also add the option to show a grid over the chart.

Feedback is much appreciated! Thanks.

5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Where to sell an android app? on: January 05, 2014, 11:01:38 PM
Hello everyone,

I currently have an android app which I'm trying to sell in Bitcoin. Right now, there is only CoinDL for an "android app store" but it doesn't even have an actual android application to handle downloading and installing, so I don't really consider it an android app store. So, what's currently the best place to host digital goods for sale in bitcoin? I'm using Satoshi box at the moment but I'm not so sure about it - has anyone used it before? Additionally, is there any up-and-coming android app stores that accept bitcoin?

Thanks a lot!

Hello everyone,

I'm here to offer you my statistics calculator (aptly named Stats Calculator) for Bitcoin.

What can it do?

It's an app that allows you to calculate mean, median, mode, variance, standard deviation, permutations, combinations, and much more. I implemented a custom keypad that makes numeric entry quicker and easier than the standard keyboard. You can save the data that you entered and load it again later. The app automatically checks and reports errors if you mistype something. Copy & paste is supported. Additionally, you can get the general equation for every calculation to check what each calculation is actually doing. You can also reorder and remove items from the list of results in case there are calculations you don't care about. You can enable touch and sound feedback and also keep your phone screen from locking when using for long periods of time. There is much more, but I'll stop there.

How to get it?

I have both a pro version and a free version (no ads on either). If you want to just try out the app first or read more about it, please visit this link to the play store. If you want to read more about the pro version, you can do so with this link to the play store.

If you would like to purchase my app in bitcoin, I have it available through Satoshi Box at this link for 1 mBTC.

I hope you enjoy my app!

edit: If anyone knows of a better way / service for distributing digital goods, please let me know and I will get it set up.

Hello everyone. I'm not a newb to bitcoin, but to this particular forum, it would appear so. Since I must make a post to get out of here, I figured I'd get some questions answered while I'm at it.

The first, basic one: Why, when combining multiple addresses to make a BTC payment does change have to be sent back to the sender? And this only happens when multiple input addresses must be used, right?

Also, I've read the "original" eight page paper on Bitcoin, but what are some other sources for learning more about the ins and outs of bitcoin? (Besides here, ha ha ha...)

Lastly, a very niche question: I enjoy Android development and I'm about to release a paid app on the Play Store. Are there any Android app stores that support BTC payments? If not, what's the recommended way of setting it up myself? I've heard of Bitpay but I think they have some kind of minimum that I'm unlikely to reach. Would it be best to just manually do it for each person who wants to pay in BTC and send them the .apk once I've received payment?

Thanks so much!
Nick

I like how most people are focused on mining / faucets / buying. Even though this is probably just a newbie trying to get post count, I'd still make note to mention that the best way to get BTC is the same way you get any other currency - work. Find something you can get paid for, in BTC, and do it.
