Locking this thread to avoid unneeded spam on it, as the case has been solved. Thanks to everyone who have reviewed the link and for theymos paying attention to my case and to mprep for protecting the forum.

We all make mistakes.

Plagiarism i suppose. You have copy pasted some text from online and attached them to your posts without using quotes what so ever or giving any credit to the original author.

Your reply:

You won't be unbanned most likely, as plagiarism most often is an automatic permanent ban without second chance.
3  Other / Meta / Re: How can you know the reason of banned? on: April 26, 2018, 04:59:14 PM
Only staff can see the reason afaik. Also which account got banned? Usually it is plagiarism which causes people to get banned.
4  Economy / Services / Re: Help to confirm my bitcoin transaction on: April 26, 2018, 03:33:10 PM
Seems like it is already confirmed. Next time have some patience before posting, as sometimes there might be like around 5MB of pending transactions. You paid a very low fee, so if you need to get transaction quickly confirmed, then you will have to pay a higher fee.
5  Other / Meta / Re: suggestion: short replies by merit on: April 26, 2018, 03:09:40 PM
That is actually a great idea. It's a pain currently trying to browse and to find the most helpful answer on the thread in the sea of shitposts.
if such function existed, it would be possible to just skip all the unhelpful answers and then read only the best answer.

https://wirex.test-app.link/izr6oIYSNB?action=affiliate-register&code=KL3RpBasa0yP5Vk6b_ZuSg <~~ semi suspicious link

Can someone figure out what the deal is with that link?
I googled the domain “test-app.link” and it looks like this might be something that directs users to open a link directly in an app on their phone instead of in their browser.

When I directed my browser to that link, it went to a page with a button that said “get the app” which sends me to the apple App Store, specifically a link to download the wirex bitcoin wallet. On the page on my browser, there is also a message that says I will see the content after downloading the app.

Edit: I download the wirex app, signed up and was able to obtain the following referral link,
https://links.wirexapp.com/MpmB/4bTIQcutbK?action=affiliate-register&code=NVyN0jdZy0W6YFsE1dCviQ

Based on the above, I would conclude the link he posted to be a referral link. I would recommend not permanently banning the OP if this is the only instance of referral spam. A warning would probably be most appropriate, but at worst a 3 day ban would be in order (both assuming this is the only instance).

Edit2: I don’t particularly like wirex and have removed the app from my phone, however it is not explicitly malicious to the extent you can trust apple and their ability to perform their due diligence

Thanks for your review of the link Quickseller. Although i did not know that such referral links are untolerated here (which im guilty of posting), i have no intention of phishing anyone at some point wirex had that kind of referral link, which no has changed to the format which you posted for me as well.
7  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 26, 2018, 02:28:50 PM
I know mods talked about the reason for the ban but perhaps one of the reasons was selling verified accounts.

[WTS] Verified Bittrex, Cryptopia, Cex.io, Novaexchange

No... I sold few of my own accounts, which i have made personally. Afaik there is no rules against that, also selling verified cryptoexchange accounts does not include trust whatsoever.

If my ban gets revoked, i assume that i will get a refund of the 0.12mBTC which i paid to post this appeal Roll Eyes

Now I think you are being a bit of a cunt Cheesy. I can't speak on theymos' behalf on whether he will give you a refund or not, but if you hadn't of broken the rules in the first place by posting a ref link this wouldn't have happened. You could have just used a proxy or different connection to sign up to avoid paying the fee.

Not true. I tried with three different IP's and they were all blacklisted by the moderator who did ban me. I went even to three different locations.
9  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 26, 2018, 10:37:13 AM
People don't normally get permabanned for one instance of ref spam - usually it's just deleted or you'll get a short temp ban if you keep doing it but perma bans are usually issued for people spreading malicious links which is obviously what they thought this one is and I can see why because it certainly does look fishy. I would say it's better to be safe than sorry in circumstances like this because any cases of mistaken bans can always be revoked which I'm sure this one will be if everything checks out.

It seems that you were banned due to this post, where the link is either a phishing link or was considered referral spam.

You sure its not because OP is a bit of a cunt?

lol.

no one gets banned for being a "cunt".

Depends how cunty they are or how you define cunt-like behaviour  Cheesy.

Yes. I am a fucking cunt, and i love being a one.
But unless you have something useful for the thread, the door is right there as no one gets banned for being a "cunt".

The only provider currently with cards, that i know of is Wirex. They have some kind of waiting list, but the cards are "free" as you only pay upon card load. Plastic cards will be coming soon.

They do however require identity verification, because of Visa.

Can someone figure out what the deal is with that link?

Hmm, very weird. I copy pasted it straight out of the app, but do not remember such a domain on my link.
However it still redirects to wirexapp.com domain, if you try to access it. Looks like it reads to a company called Branch, which seems to be some kind of website which provides link redirecting or something similar. This is the website: https://branch.io/

Here is the Whois data of the owner: https://www.whois.com/whois/test-app.link

This is not phishing, although i gotta admit that it looks like such.

Edit: It seems like branch.io is used for deep linking and is a very reputable company.

Edit2: They even have a wikipedia page here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branch_Metrics

Nope, he is not on my spreadsheet where I usually list those that i've banned... Probably there's a deeper reason than referral link...

Do you have ability to see who has issued the ban?

4. No referral code (ref link) spam. [1]

As far as I can tell the interpretation of spam here is generally that you should not post any referral links. The punishment seems harsh though, I think mostly the posts just get deleted unless someone keeps doing it.

When I was a newbie I posted a referral link. That post was deleted and I received the typical email:

Quote
“A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.”

Nothing else happened. So, I don’t think it’s just for posting a referral link.

It's a false ban for a "phishing link". Im pretty sure the mod did not even bother to check the domain, as the url was so long so he tagged it as phishing.

I hope that mods have logs of everything on the forum, as a moderator banning people without reason should not be mods as they have a certain kind of responsibility.

Banning without researching does not sound very responsible to me.
14  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 26, 2018, 06:02:48 AM
You mean that you have posted that referral link and you banned already?

Well yeah, but you should read through the thread next time before posting as the answer was already included on this thread.

We have a rule here in forum dude that avoid posting a link that is possible happen that you might get banned.

There is no such a rule, unless it is spam or phishing.
You should know this as you have been longer here than me, try to avoid making false statements which are not helpful at all.
15  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 26, 2018, 05:34:52 AM
Is there a duration on how many days your ban would last?

Nope. I was banned permanently for a referral link i guess Tongue
The wirex referral links are long, and look shady but the domain still ends on "wirexapp.com" which is the official link of wirex.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 26, 2018, 04:44:07 AM
Out of curiosity, was this you?:

hello r u have account BTT with hero rank and without red trust ? i want buy some account

Nope.

The comment on your ban is "(Now edited out) Wirex phishing." I don't know what post this refers to, but presumably it's now gone.

It was actually a referral link to wirex, and not a phishing link. Could you take a look on this, as the person who banned me has not done alot of research.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 25, 2018, 10:23:56 PM
The moderator achow101 is abusing his position here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3388754.0

Im pretty sure it is not him, as he has merited multiple of my posts.
I do not see a reason that he would ban a user, whose posts he likes.

I have gone through some of your post history. Did not find anything odd there. I wonder what could be the reason?
These are the ban procedures for spamming (again your posts looks ok).
Quote
First offence: 7 days
Second offence: 14 days
Third offence: 30 days
Fourth: Permanent ban

A ban could be for plagiarism as well. Do you think you have any possibility for that? I am really confused. Wish you good luck mate.

I have never, ever copied anyone's posts and posted them as my own.
I have not heard anyone getting banned for temper, as i can be very harsh sometimes so i wonder as well why i was banned.
There is no any messages about the ban.
18  Other / Meta / Re: Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 25, 2018, 09:06:14 PM
Using a VPN will not get you banned. In fact, IP evidence alone is not sufficient to earn you a ban based on the actions of another user.

I don't know what i got banned for them. I posted a one picture which user was harassing me on and he said something like "Im waiting for the video of you licking your tears from your mother's ass" or something like that, so im not sure if some mod took that as a breaking of rules.

I personally at least wish a official comment from the mod who banned me, and what for as i did not even get a notice about it.

Im not guilty of plagiarism either. Scammers roam free, and yet i got banned for which i do not know the reason for.
19  Other / Meta / Banned for what? User: Sellingaccs on: April 25, 2018, 08:18:28 PM
Hello, im user called "Sellingaccs". I have been a member of bitcointalk for some while, and here is my profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1831676

I woke up one morning, finding out that i was banned. I did not see a reason, nor any duration of ban so i do not understand why a forum moderator would ban me as i have been contributing to the forum and helping users for a while now. I sent an appeal to the email address, but i guess that theymos is busy.

I think that i got banned because of me using a VPN provided by Private Internet Access, which might have flagged me as someone that i am not.
I respect my privacy alot, which is why i am using a VPN.

I wish that a moderator would answer this thread, at least stating the reason for ban and possibly unbanning me and refunding the BTC which i paid to have the ability to post on META section.

Thanks.
