1  Economy / Speculation / Re: After " Destroying Bitcoin " prices went up on: April 26, 2018, 06:35:32 PM
I do not see how altcoins will destroy bitcoin. Most new investors in cryptos choose bitcoin as their first foray into crypto investment.

Maybe because the btc is the only tradeable coin on the market? Bitcoin is like usd in fiat currencies, there is a euro (ethereum) which is honourable and tradeable, however it is still not the same volume.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO for May 2018 on: April 26, 2018, 10:59:36 AM
I'm following
https://daostack.io/

 4.8 rating  - https://www.trackico.io/ico/daostack/

"DAOstack is an operating system for a new form of web organization: the DAO. Decentralized Autonomous Organizations have captured the imagination of the best minds in the blockchain space, but despite their promise have yet remained an abstract idea. One key point of failure is the lack of solid framework for decentralized blockchain governance. DAOstack provides a general stack for collective value management on the blockchain, including a friendly JavaScript developer environment and an intuitive user interface. Just as HTTP allows the creation and interoperability of web sites and web applications, the DAO stack enables the creation and interoperability of web companies, collaboration apps and DAOs, as well as the alignment of their interests. The result is a new web of open collaboration, in which collectives can self-organize around shared goals and values, not limited by pure economic growth. We believe this to be a critical step in the evolution of society toward a more cooperative and sustainable future."

Did you check the detailed explanation of the rating? They lost only because of the lack of facebook page.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ICO die in 2018? on: April 26, 2018, 10:50:53 AM
ICO will die with the death of cryptocoins (so probably will be immortal Grin ).
I am waiting for the ICO adaptation into stockmarket (replacement for private placemenet).
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: minimum money to start ICO on: April 26, 2018, 10:43:09 AM
According to some crypto experts it costs about $50,000 USD to create a successful ICO.

Depend on the ammount that you would like to get... I would say that the 50k USD is underestimate. Most of the ICOs have to be pumped by the ICO founders. I would say that 1M is more accurate, but you'll get these money back with the token creation.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long vs. Short: Bitcoin and Alts on: April 26, 2018, 10:34:42 AM
Usually my monthly strategy is to buy 10 biggest coin proportionaly to the market cap. Usually it works  Grin
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain help on: April 26, 2018, 10:19:50 AM
Ok...I was supposedly paid by someone and they sent bitcoin to my blockchain account.  The dollar amount shows up, but I cant send, transfer or spend any of them. It is an imported account and it says I need the private key.  How do I get that?  I will pay the first person who helps me .5 bitcoin.

Tim notsobrite

For almost sure you used the blockchain.info account and you have been scammed... It may be the painful lesson for the future Sad
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Finding scammers on: April 26, 2018, 10:09:38 AM
There are some companies like coinfirm: https://www.coinfirm.io/about which lists the stolen/frauded BTC addresses then estimate the frauded/stolen bitcoin in your wallett.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 26, 2018, 09:26:05 AM
I book the profits in BTC, I just choose to do it with the BTC:ETH and BTC:LTC pairs rather than soiling myself with the lowest of shitcoins...USD.

LOL - calling USD coins made me a lot of questions:

1) Does anyone know where to buy the USD miners?
2) Will difficult rise?
3) What algorithm use the USD?
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you stay in crypto if BTC does not recover? on: April 26, 2018, 09:12:14 AM
Hi,

Just wondering if you guys will stay in crypto (aka hold or sell your BTC holdings) if the price does not recover.

Lets say we are still around 6k-7k by December 2018 => Will you wait it out or give up and say "OK, we had a nice ride but we are not going up again"?

What about if in 2019 price is still hovering around 6k-7k and there is no sign of recovery to 10k+ (or even a new ATH)

I will stay with coins as long as these are tradeable. I would be more happy if ATH happen (sonner rather than later), however there are some benefits of hodling like getting new forked coins Smiley
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC moon again? Yes. on: April 26, 2018, 09:01:01 AM
Nice chart.

We are living in the bitcoin era when the most accurate prediction tool is MSPaint Smiley
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: After " Destroying Bitcoin " prices went up on: April 26, 2018, 08:43:21 AM
Have you seen that MIT technology review explaining 3 ways to destroy Bitcoin ? It is from a month ago.

Well I won't discuss that, but briefly, imo they have too much imagination, for real, it's all biased.

So basically, even with this news the prices went up from about 7k at the time to the prices that are now. I learned that Bitcoin prices usually fluctuate due to bad news, but I started to follow prices only this year. What kind of news would make the prices decrease ? Anyone remembers one ?

Can you link the article?
13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AML/KYC Explained on: April 25, 2018, 10:48:22 AM
Does anyone know how accurate are the data from the kycmap.com ?

Last blog/news post is from 2015... Since that time many things happend in case of cryptocurrency policies but in the kyc/aml as well.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should bitcoin rise and fall? on: April 25, 2018, 10:38:35 AM
Bitcoin market is known for its fluctuations, sometimes the value go up and sometimes go down. It is the beauty of Bitcoin and made it very interesting according to the well of people. People we have seen are now special ones as they are buying valuable cars and other products after making the billions and millions using Bitcoin in real means. This all is possible just because they invested in low market and sold out in high market.

Exactly! The continuous rise/fall is becoming the nature of bitcoin. Understanding this nature makes you better trader and will stop stockbrokers enetering the cryptoworld.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Holding is bullshit? on: April 25, 2018, 09:48:44 AM
Try not using the bullshitcoin for the holding then it may work.

In the other hand - I cannot immagine how must now feel the 19k usd/btc holders  Grin

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why all coins are dropping? on: April 25, 2018, 09:19:20 AM
Does anyone found the coins that ALWAYS go oposite the market trend? If these would be exchangeable for BTC/ETH - it would be possible to create the easy profit. Of course I understand that the biggest limitation is the availability of the coin on market ( so the profit would be probably marginal), however I still think that it is worth try.

20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Exchange to use? on: April 25, 2018, 08:45:50 AM
I miss the old good times when mtgox was the answer for any question in case of choosing the best crypto exchange  Grin

Currently using bunch of exchange - hitbtc, binance, kraken, bitfinex, bitstamp... None of them make me any problem, however I am more hodler than trader.
