Hello Come-from-Beyond,
Thanks for the link. I will purchase and read the paper.
But what's the short answer. Did Satoshi Nakamoto solve the "Bizantine Generals Problem"? Yes or No
Thanks,

Hello to all!
I recently gave a talk about Bitcoin to a group of business and university professors, and in that talk I said that Satoshi Nakamoto had solved the "Bizantine Generals Problem".
I had read that from several documents and also heard it from a couple of prominent Bitcoin talkers. To my surprise, one professor disputed my affirmation, got up, and said that another person had solved it before. He mentioned the name but I forgot it.
Now I'm perplexed about the issue and want to know what the real story is, so I can contact this person and conciliate the truth with him.
Can anybody point me to some authoritative evidence on this subject so I can refute or accept this guy's claim?
Thanks a lot,
Rodrigo

I would keep filing support tickets
Yeah, I did that "Ad nauseam", so I'm taking my loss and moving on. You seem to like them, so I hope you have better luck. Regards,

trolls & fudsters do what they do because of a veriety of reasons. some are crazy, some are smart, some are stupid, some have a hidden agenda, some are just bored, some work alone and some are part of a group. every individual is different.
To add up... Some are jealous

Yet another scam case from CampBX I got scammed big by them at the end of last year. The way things are going for them, I think they'll disappear before the end of this year. Sorry to hear about your loss...

This analogy was made: "If coins were the cars, SuperNET would be the highway"

Someone convinced me to come back
I was involved in this issue... So please accept my apologies also and come back to post! Reading this whole post took me a couple of sittings (and hours) ... but after I finished and got up with a basic understanding of SuperNET, a popular tune stuck in my mind that goes "with a little help from my friends"Would this be part of the message that James is trying to convey? Sincerely, Rodrigo

100,000+ nodes
Even Bitcoin only has ~7300 reachable nodes. I doubt that we will see above 1000. At least in the first year or before massive hype. From my understanding that is the optimal number, not the initial number of nodes. Regards,

Long Live James!
Enough with that. You sound ridiculous. I agree, please stop that. From reading James and capturing his down-to-earth personality, I do not think he enjoys "NXTzy" slogans glorifying his persona. Thanks and regards, Rodrigo

The Argentinian monetary disaster will be good for the people as they will become more aware of Bitcoin and what it means. So I feel Bitcoin will gain popularity fast.
That the Argentinian government would adopt Bitcoin? ... Never They are "Regulators". They will never surrender any of their power (specially economic) to anybody or anything. So if their Peso gets so devaluated and it becomes worthless, they could probably adopt another strong Fiat currency like US Dollar or Euro. Or keep on fooling their people by issuing an "electronic currency" of their own like Ecuador's president is trying to do.

What the hell do I do with a pocket full of pesos? Nothing.... Try to pay for goods and services using BTC while you are there. You will be treated as a king, probably get some good deals, and the Argentinians will get some REAL value for their work/goods. Even if they do not know what BTC is all about, they'll probably prefer anything to their devalued worthless pesos. Good Luck!

Miguel,
Saludos,

The best and honest way is to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment for the goods and/or services that you produce.
Become a millionaire in BTC? That is very hard and it's not a realistic goal. Remember that there will only be 21 million BTC total, so theoretically, there can only be 21 maximum millionaires possible.... for the whole world? Forget it.
