Where are the more reputable Bitcoin exchanges today? Any in the US or Canada? (I haven't had an exchange account since the time of Mt. Gox's debacle.)

wow nice article but so sad!! I am sure the conspiracy theorists will be coming out soon and trying to relate his death to bitcoin and try
and make bitcoin look shady as usual. I wonder what happened.
One odd thing was the death occurred last month. Why'd it take 3 weeks to be in the news? |

The Bitcoin Center in New York City has been one of the most prominent places to discuss and trade cryptocurrency every week. Over the years this location has grown out from a niche crowd to attracting people from all over the city and beyond. Andrew Martin, CTO of Bitcoin Center NYC, was one of the driving forces behind this project. Unfortunately, Andrew passed away a few weeks ago. A funeral mass will be held shortly. I think she was about to land a very large, significant deal on her exchange. Someone did not want her to get that deal (she may not have been aware of it yet).
that does not sound even faintly plausible. There are far more ways to stymie a simple business deal than something as difficult to pull off as a murder faked as a suicide. She was building a company that instantly exchanged any currency for any currency, including digital.
Her design threatened the world's currency owners, because it gave people an escape from being locked into a single currency. For example, it would allow a person in Singapore to live their life using the currency of their choice (gold, bitcoin, yen, usd, british pound, canadian dollar, etc.) without ever touching or holding a Singapore dollar, and having total freedom to transact with anyone and everyone.
That's why she was killed.

The fed doesn't want this. Do you have any idea how much cash they are pumping out nowadays? I don't think that the fed would allow this, let alone be interested in it. Inflation is "heating up" lately, so they will be looking for ways to keep dollars from driving up prices. One way is to eliminate "double-spent" USD. |

I wish you the best of luck but there are so many altcoins these days, it's hard for new ones to get any traction.
I would suggest partnering with some already established crypto services.
I guess that might be possible. How do you contact existing coin operators? |

Just a suggestion, there have been an awful lot of crapcoin ico lately, and there might be some alt-fatigue devloping. If I was developing a coin, I would spend a lot of time on these forums reading through all of these alt coins. See what worked and what didn't. See what people like and what they dont. We don't need another coin, so figure out how to make us want it by making it better than the other coins out there.
I agree with that sentiment, however, this is a specific business application. It is more than a new coin with different parameters running a trading operation. If you want to discuss specifics, we can do so over PM with a simple non-disclosure agreement to not steal the plan, or tell others about it until it's implemented. |

I have a specific plan for a new currency and would like some assistance. Of course, those who are part of the creation of the currency would receive many very inexpensive coins. I have a market defined for the coins which could be $1-$5 each, perhaps higher.
I need help with questions like:
- how many coins to create?
- how many to start with?
- what rate for the mining?
- what are the transaction fees?
Then technical things of actually creating the coin and getting it on the exchanges, etc. I used to write software, so I know the technical things, but frankly am focused on the larger business plan. (FYI, if you have access to investors/capital, we can talk about that too.)

To any "government"? Very funny. No, of course not. However, there are people who work for the government who actually have connections to communities and rely upon paychecks. They might see the value of a digital serial number on every dollar. |

Consider a new coin called USD (or perhaps Digital Dollars or Electronic Dollars DDR or EDR). Perhaps a 2nd new coin called Physical Dollars (PDR or PDL). Some thought might be given to Pennies, Dimes, Nickels, Quarters, etc.
What does THAT do for you? On a 1 to 1 basis, you could track every single dollar created by the Fed. Each digital dollar would be identifiable and unique. An end to digital counterfeiting aka a bank or other entity creating an accounting entry that misrepresents the number of dollars in existence.

Denial of service at an individual level would be a possibility under the Bitcoin protocol.
Bitcoin marketing:
"As long as you aren't targeted, your transaction will probably go through".

One must remember miners have an approval process. I do not know how that works, but would appear to be a collusion possibility on certain transfers.
