Holy shit.

A block! I got my 1 freakin' yay.  Cheesy

Edit: balance still shows as zero though. Don't tell me it's stale? ¬_¬

Is that for real? It says officially that as of now we can only do CPU mining. How can you possibly already use your GPU?

I've gotten that message a lot, so I guess it doesn't mean that :/

I got this on my log - does this mean a found block? (the bit at the bottom)

Hi,
I just installed MinePeon on my RPi because I found your solution here. But unfortunately, it doesn't work for me.
After the first command, it gives me the following errors, any ideas?

This is how i did to get antminer U1 USB to work with minepeon

1 INSTALL MINEPEON

1.1 download minepeon from sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/minepeon/files/release/

1.2 install minepeon to the SD-card. i used RPi-writer for MAC.

1.3 Find the IP to the PI, i logged in to my router to find the IP.

2 RECOMPILE CGMINER TO BITMAIN:S VERSION.

This will recompile the cgminer so it will work with Antminer U1 USB.

2.1 SSH to the pi using: ssh minepeon@[yourip], default password is peon.

2.2 type in the following commands: ( the autogen.sh command will take a lot of time )

sudo pacman -S git base-devel ncurses curl libusbx jre7-openjdk-headless
cd /opt/
sudo git clone https://github.com/bitmaintech/cgminer.git
cd cgminer/
sudo ./autogen.sh --enable-bmsc --enable-bitmain
sudo make install

2.3 DONE!

with this setup it will ONLY work with bitmain chips, if you want to run minepeon with other devices, for example BitFury, you need to add it to the autogen.sh command.

They already work fine in asteroid at 500... Using boot camp at the moment to get most of it while I'm waiting for my raspberry pi as a solution.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Building custom cgminer for OSX to support Antminer U1 USBs on: January 04, 2014, 08:50:09 PM
Hi all - I need help building the custom cgminer to run the new Antminer U1 USB ASIC. I have attempted to pull from GitHub and build according to Unix instructions, but I'm getting a plethora of errors. Most notably, I can't even get ./autogen.sh finishing successfully. The most common error I receive is:

Code:
checking dependency style of gcc... gcc3
./configure: line 4010: AC_PROG_LIBTOOL: command not found
./configure: line 4011: syntax error near unexpected token `Windows'
./configure: line 4011: `LT_LANG(Windows Resource)'
configure: error: ./configure failed for compat/libusb-1.0

Any help is appreciated.

This is the link to the custom cgminer I'm trying to make -- https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/tree/master/cgminer

Hey, please let me know if you can get it to work. I also purchased an Antminer and can't get it to full speed on OSX.
Sadly, I don't know enough about coding to help you.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][MEOW] Kittehcoin-qt Wallet for OSX 10.9, need testers! on: January 03, 2014, 01:34:00 PM
You're welcome.
So, is there any way for me to compile this myself? I don't know how to code, but I know how to use the terminal (a little  Tongue).

TBH it involved downloading QT Creator, modifying a number of build config files, macports (long story), building the c++ libs manually, manually packaging all the frameworks for deployment and libraries as well so it can get dicey- and that's after me figuring stuff out for 2days (admittedly this is my first foray into OSX development- but I do program other languages daily/smyjob).

If it helps I will be posting the final code to GitHub so you may glean some insights from that. I used macports to install the source files for the needed libraries to build the deployment (homebrew is an alternative) and I used the kittehcoin repository (https://github.com/kittehcoin/kittehcoin) as my starting point. I did lots of referencing against litecoin and dogecoin as well in order to get everything right. I really want to commit the code to that repo but if I don't hear back from the dev I may start a kittehcoin/kittecoin-qt project on github or something idk we need to keep the ball moving on this project.

Working on backwards compatibility with older versions of OSX now...

Unfortunately, way too complicated for me. Thank you for the effort. Hopefully, KittehCoin will be a success! Smiley

Just synchronised the wallet and did a transaction. So far everything works fine (Mavericks).

Do you think you could also compile such a wallet for CatCoin? Or would that be a whole different process?

Thanks for confirming! Unfortunately I'm only working on KittehCoin not CatCoin but the process is probably similar. I'm working on getting support in place for older versions of MacOSX (for kitteh). Hoping @shai_ can post a link to his 10.7 wallet... I'm working on putting together one for 10.8, and I'll move into 10.7 if @shai_ doesn't beat me there first.

You're welcome.

I will upload current version tomorrow.

Hi. This thread seems to be quite old. The link doesn't work anymore. Is the app still of any use today? If so, I'd like to test it as well. Thank you.

Yes. Yes.
Of course we're interested. :-)
Great idea!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mac OS X altcoin clients on: January 01, 2014, 03:39:46 AM
The steps to compile are fairly straightforward in theory but in practise the alt-coin clients I have built so far were forked long enough ago that they have bugs that prevent them from compiling on OSX that have long been fixed in the more popular clients.  Especially on mavericks the compiler is a bit more picky.

Are there any coins in particular you'd like to test a client for?  I've built XenCoin and CinnamonCoin so far.

I'd be happy to test a client for CatCoin to start off with.  Smiley

Congrats to everyone genuinely supporting CAT for rather steady recalc/price move!

May the CAT be with you for the years to come guys Cheesy

Community has busy days ahead doing promo and supporting with patriotic mining... Stay on course!

Thanks for your continiued work on CAT project and building up a strong community.

Is there any new results have a working wallet for maverick.
I can use the official wallet on Mavericks that's downloadable from the official website without any hitch. The one linked in this thread didn't work for me though.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mac OS X altcoin clients on: December 30, 2013, 05:31:58 PM
Hi,
I'd be interested in testing some of your clients for those coins where no official mac client is available yet.
Btw, is there an easy way for anyone to compile their own mac builds, i.e. downloading source code and just compiling from terminal via some easy steps?

Thanks.
