A TWN of length 13 has been found : http://primecoin.21stcenturymoneytalk.org/index.php?block_height=340499 origin of 105 digits ! That is one to put in the record books.

For those interested, I've programmed a bot to screen the blockchain for new record breaking primechains. You can follow it on twitter https://twitter.com/OldEee_Miner. Apart from record primes it also tweets about the price and it's own (really, really slow) mining efforts.

Dan hier ook maar iets neerzetten om aan 5 te raken.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / [XPM]Primecoin price twitterbot on: January 05, 2014, 03:37:56 PM
As I'm required to make one substantial post in this part of the forum I'll use it to make some advertisement for my twitterbot. The Old Primecoin Miner is an asus eee 901 netbook I was no longer using, therefore I've set it up to mine primecoins. As this is progressing rather slowly it is also programmed to give regular updates on the primecoin price and check the blockchain for new record breaking prime chains found.

For those interested check out https://twitter.com/OldEee_Miner. Follow it if you are invested in primecoins.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Joining Pool with CPU on: January 05, 2014, 03:27:23 PM
Try mining a CPU-only coin like Primecoin. There are some sites that accept Primecoin directly, but you can always exchange for Bitcoin.

I would agree, cpu mining bitcoins or scrypt coins will take ages to reach a pool's payout limit. Primecoin is a much better choice, rpool.net and candypool.net have small payout limits .

Since you're already mining with your cpu, consider primecoins (XPM) as well. With a Xeon getting 35 Kh/s mining scrypt you should be able to reach the payout limit on rpool.net reasonably fast (every couple of days). That way you have some coins to play around with. Consider using some trail vps subscriptions as well, being able to set up a linux server in the cloud is good skill to have if you consider getting a job in IT later in life Wink
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How did you find bitcoin? on: January 05, 2014, 03:06:10 PM
Through a documentary on a local newsprogram. One pub started accepting bitcoin as payment. Though I didn't really look into it until about 1 year later (unfortunatly).
