1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy and Hold 100 Cryptocurrencies for 5 Years – Official Thread on: January 14, 2018, 04:11:55 AM
Interesting experiment indeed. It would be good to see which coins did the best based on their position in the 100. For example, 1-10 positions, 11-20, 21-30 etc.

I would expect the top 10 will grow by less than say 41-50 or 71-80, but I may be wrong. So it would be interesting to see. If you find one or more groups to be a lot higher you could be into something.

I will be checking back to see how you get on.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell my airdropped tokens quickly or hold on to them? on: January 14, 2018, 03:48:06 AM
If you really want to answer your question you will need to spend a few minutes researching the project. If you like the sound of the project and believe it has a future you should hold. Airdrops are good in that they disperse tokens to a wider audience. Projects that are better distributed tend to be less susceptible to whale manipulation and overnight dumps. In my experience if you hold for 6 months or more the tokens tend to go up again after the initial dumpers have exited.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is new way to get Free money? on: January 14, 2018, 03:40:53 AM
ICOs are a novel and still developing form of capital raising. For legitimate projects ICOs are a great alternative to traditional VC funding due to flexibility and not giving up equity ownership. The money does not come for free. The team needs to execute the project and keep token holders happy. I have never come across a fake ICO where the founders ran away with the money. If those are the ones you are seeing, you are not researching properly beforehand. Should be able to tell if the team is allstar from google searches, Linkedin etc.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: life of a trader on: January 14, 2018, 03:35:46 AM
Trading cryptos is very difficult to be long term profitable. So many pumps and dumps it will stress you out. You are better off researching ICOs and picking winners that can go 10x or more. A lot less stressful and you can take you time to learn about the projects you are investing in. If you do decide to trade, don't be greedy. If you are up 50% the most likely way is down the next day or so. Take profits and move to the next. Don't be caught bagholding last weeks hot coin.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to crypto - help appreciated on: January 14, 2018, 03:29:32 AM
Top 10 coins are good to have as generally less volatile. You could also consider looking into some ICOs as if you pick well then there is the chance to make 10x or more if the project does well. Take a look at GoNetwork, Gems, Orchid. Some big ideas that could do very well if executed. Best advice I have received is don't day trade. Pick a few coins you like and hold.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Exchanges: Why do they lack liquidity? on: January 12, 2018, 10:33:08 PM
My experience with Etherdelta is trades are frustratingly slow and ethereum network fees are high. There is a fee to deposit funds. There is a fee to place and order. There is a fee to make a trade. There is a fee to withdraw funds. To even get a transaction through in an hour you need to up the gwei and gas limit. I think the key to decentralized exchanges is the speed/fees of the underlying blockchain. Ehtereum is not able to handle the speed needed just yet.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should hold or sell Tron TRX? on: January 12, 2018, 10:28:14 PM
I did not hear about any of these reports before I bought a few TRX yesterday. I just saw the 50%+ drop week on week and thought it was 'cheap'. Good to know what some of the background to the drop was. I think long term it is a good project and should recover lost ground. But as we all know crypto moves fast and there are always other opportunities.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best low market cap coins on: January 12, 2018, 02:16:50 AM
Low market cap coins are good if you find a good team and good idea under the radar. Some that I am following are Hubii, Mercury Protocol and Aventus. All are strong fundamentals and real teams working hard to solve a problem. But you should check them out sooner than later as if I'm right they won't be low market cap coins for much longer. Aventus is 'supposed' to be listing on Bittrex any time, but seems no coins are being listed recently.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: December 26, 2017, 01:41:02 AM
I wonder if I will ever get my NEM stake?

I presume the unclaimed/sock stakes are still sitting somewhere.

I certainly complained at the time I was wrongly socked, but have been quiet for a while. Shame, I would be a millionaire too like you guys.

I guess as the value goes up someone will start a class action lawsuit.I'd be all over that!

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: May 07, 2017, 07:00:11 AM

Well let's think realistic for a bit.
Currently, the market cap is 8million and the coin is priced around $3.
A market cap of 50million would be legit for the project once released and could move upwards to 100mil fairly quickly if the site is good.
I'd say this would happen by 2019.
That's a good 12X from this point, or like 30-40$
Just my simple opinion though

So conservative Mr Ease. Way worse projects are valued higher
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOKENCARD on: May 02, 2017, 10:38:15 PM
I'm curious whether the advertised 150 token per Eth down to 100 token per Eth were the rates applied. Not complaining but I think I received more token than I expected. Anyone else notice this?

Perhaps it was because I paid with SNGLS which may have afforded me a better rate? I know there was a 5% bonus for using them but the tokens I got were more than 5% over.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOKENCARD on: May 02, 2017, 04:53:29 PM
Not sure why transactions did not go through right away. I sent a transaction right on 16:00GMT but the amount never left the wallet. I think it was the third try before a transaction went through by that time is was 16:13GMT. Weird.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOKENCARD on: May 02, 2017, 04:44:11 PM
Is it possible to see your TKN balance yet?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TOKENCARD on: May 02, 2017, 04:20:26 PM
Don't know SNGLS worked. Only ETH transactions seem to be going through?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: May 01, 2017, 02:10:22 AM
Holy moly!

Lunyr is already on bittrex!

At 50% over ico, depending on when you bought, maybe more

I thought there were no incents with this ICO?

He means depending on the price of ETH when you bought.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: May 01, 2017, 12:40:22 AM
I know we're all here for different reasons but it's funny to me that some are already judging success or otherwise at such an early stage. This is potentially a game changer, a challenger to Wikipedia. I say give it 2-3 years and your ICO investment will be worth many millions.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: April 30, 2017, 09:05:26 AM
Will more LUN tokens exist in the future or is the 2.7m the total ever supply?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LUNYR - Decentralized World Knowledge Base on Ethereum - Completed! on: April 28, 2017, 12:10:11 PM
The website script broke when the crowdsale ended. There was never any 20k ETH as you can see by looking at etherscan rather than the website. The total supply is equal to crowdsale supply / 0.78. Please clear your browser cached images and files if you can't see the final numbers. Cheers for a successful crowdsale and incredible journey! We have lift off! =)

I wonder if that is supposed to say the etherscan total supply 2,703,356 multiplied by 0.78 which is 2,108,617.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]GRAV Graviton, Gravitator Nodes, Gravitate dApp Social Network [MODDED] on: September 02, 2015, 12:37:51 AM
I would love to see something come of Graviton. There are obviously still a few of us bagholding.
