I would like to see particle succeed very much. Take your time and write good code. It's never about the short term.

so whats next guys? how do we get probe going again? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) How about; Just let it die!? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Please join one of the other Quark communities instead. I recommend Particle, Frozen & Molecule as they are all *no premine* LOL i am a part of particle community too, i liked this coin from the beginning quark + pos + rare seemed like a good combo.

I got everybody's messages and emails. I will recycle the seed nodes and the block explorer and unstick the network.
I could turn on automated checkpointing as well, I am reluctant to do so because it adds some centralization, but it might be some extra protection. I will wait for feedback from you all before going this route.
A big part of the problem is that there are still a lot of people trying to connect with the old version of the client and it periodically overloads the seeds and is causing synchronization issues.
As another poster noted, I did lose my job over all of this coin stuff ;-) So, I have been heads down spinning up a company. I am building an exchange and working on getting some project work. But I am tending to the coins as well.
Give me an hour or two to do some maintenance on the servers and lets see if that helps. I will also push the updated build today and then after that based on your feedback I can either turn automated checkpointing on as a temporary measure, or leave it off.
Thanks for sticking around, good to hear from you!

I want to be able to market/promote this coin to everyone, but i can't do anything until the network is stable...

I have pushed the updated code to git. All of the seed nodes are updated. This update bumps the required protocol version so that the new version will only talk to other nodes of the same new version. I also added a bunch of checkpoints for the correct chain. [...] Another fork ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I am connected to 192.241.240.148 and at block 12490 (as well as cpu-pool.net), but the official blockexplorer ( http://signals.probecoin.com) is only at block 12231 (and yesterdays transaction, that is confirmed in the blockexplorer is not showing up in my wallet ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) ... yes it does seem that there is a network problem unfortunately

{ "blocks" : 11496, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 25.32669507, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 723413835, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false } I had to redownload the blockchain last night as i wasn't able to sync again. Added the connect= whatever from a few pages ago and letting it rebuild seems to have done the trick. Not sure why this keeps happening...

You can do the inverse, which is to set a reserve amount of coins that should not be staked that you want to make sure you have available for spending, by adding this line to your PROBE.conf: Where 100 is whatever amount you want to keep available. Oh nice, didnt know that thanks! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Sounds interesting guys, looking forward to seeing what you can do. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

staycrypto, any word on the block explorer?
Yes, I provisioned the server to host it and the paper wallet. Should have it going in a day or two. Awesome, thanks very much! Also I'd love to start collecting a list of things from the community that you would like to see. Top of the list right now is the Abe based block explorer and paper wallets. Beyond that, what would you like to see? I know I would like to have an Android wallet, and was going to work on that this weekend. What other ideas do y'all have?
Thanks for the wallet update and working to stabilize the blockchain. Some things i've seen tossed around for PoS coins that really benefit the wallet include: - Unlock button instead of doing the walletpassphrase in debug (current mint has this) - Minting status in wallet taskbar (current blackcoin has this) - It would be nice to be able to specify a certain amount of coins that should be held for minting and not moved Other than that i believe promotion, marketing, and merchant adoption should be key focuses to bring PROBE into wider adoption.

staycrypto, any word on the block explorer?
|
|
|
i typed that in console:
walletpassphrase "pass" "seconds" true
is that enough for PoS?
I too try this but the message "Minting suspended due to locked wallet." is still there. If someone know if this is enough for PoS? yea thats all you need, locked wallet error should go away after a while

PoS work? someone found pos block?
i have not seen pos block yet, started at launch got PoS blocks today

wallet appears updated...however get "No suitable long-poll found" error...hmm
that is not an error yea srry im working too fast ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ty
