I've added some new features to boomhauer  Smiley

The command $breakeven calculates the price to sell or buy at to have no net loss or gain, taking into account the MtGox fee. I also changed the fee from 0.6% to 0.45% to reflect the holiday sale.

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $breakeven
<boomhauer> Yo man, I think your break even point is $1022.11

$top shows you the players with the highest scores

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $top
<boomhauer> Top Five™ - pera: 16.38% | arcke: 12.86% | alyssaphacker: 5.11% | Demosthenes_: 0.00% | JodaZ: 0.00%

$status now also includes your last trade...that way if you haven't played for a minute you can remember where you're at.

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $status
<boomhauer> [alyssaphacker] total ROI: 5.11% | last ROI: 3.90% | #trades: 5 | last trade: bought @ 1012.93 | time playing: 6 days | holders ROI: 10.93%

Also, as per a request, boomhauer is now in #bitcoin-tradetalk as well as #bitcoin-pricetalk, and can also be added to any other chat.

I'm now working on adding fractional trading, but if anyone has any suggestions for improvements or general comments I'd love to hear them.

Hope you enjoy!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to introduce you to boomhauer, a trading simulation bot for #bitcoin-pricetalk (@ Freenode) that lets you play buy/sell, and keeps track of your return on investment. To keep it simple for now, instead of specifying a certain amount to trade, you only need to indicate when you think it would be a good buying or selling opportunity, using the commands $buy and $sell.

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $buy
<boomhauer> bought @ 832.06319

Boomhauer saves the last price on MtGox whenever you buy or sell, and when you sell he also calculates the return on investment from your last trade, the return on your initial investment, and what the return on your initial investment would be had you held instead of trading. The ROI calculation takes into account the trading fee on MtGox. You can see these values in your status ($status).

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $status
<boomhauer> [alyssaphacker] total ROI: 1.17% | last ROI: 1.17% | #trades: 3 | time playing: 1 day | holders ROI: 4.80%

The goal is that by playing, you can hopefully get an idea of how good (or bad) you are at day trading, and see how your predictions compare to others. If you’d rather keep your status private, just use the command $private to let boomhauer know not to share your status with anyone else (you can always make it public again later by using $public).

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $private
<alyssaphacker> $status alyssaphacker
<boomhauer> Sorry man, I can't show you any dang ol info bout alyssaphacker man, it's private...

To make sure boomhauer causes as little disturbance in pricetalk as possible, when you throw the commands $buy, $sell, and $price, whether in the channel or through a pm, boomhauer will respond to you by private message. The price boomhauer shows is updated every 10 seconds.

Quote
<alyssaphacker> $price
<boomhauer> MtGox last price: 872.00000

Right now I am working on adding more features to make the simulation more realistic, but just wanted to put it out there first to see if you like it, and get any suggestions for new features.

As soon as I clean up the code a little, I’ll put it on GitHub, and any issues or features I add in the future will also be published there.

In the meantime, please feel free to make comments and suggestions here in this thread, and give boomhauer a try! You’ll need to $buy in order to start the game. And by the way, if you forget any of the commands try $help.

Hope you enjoy!

Thank you '> '>

Hi,

I'd like to be whitelisted if possible. I read bitcointalk often, but registered today so that I could write a post about a simple trading simulation bot I just finished for IRC, in order to get input and suggestions from everyone here Smiley

Thanks so much.
