I just sent all my BEEs to the swap address as well, but the client isn't syncing so I don't think it'll ever confirm  Undecided
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: May 04, 2014, 12:28:34 AM
I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but it's starting to feel like BEE really is dead now. I mean absolutely nothing has been done, not a damn thing; all the while soopy seems to be working on UNO more actively than BEE.

Don't take me wrong, he has every right to work on any coin of his choosing and owes no one here a damn thing, but it does seem to me like we've been abandoned twice now.

Anyone else feeling similar here?

 Huh

I still think blake256 is the way to go, given that it opens up merged mining with other merge mining coins later on once BEE gains traction and becomes more popular.

Finally, bee.updamoon.com is working as it should.  Cheesy
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 09, 2014, 04:20:48 AM
I see. It looks ideal for merged mining also in the future. I've not tried to mine a blake256 coin as yet on gpus...does it run cold like with qrk and x11. I hear it draws about 15% less than sha256 which i think is about 20% less than scrypt so perhaps a litte more draw than the chained algos. Although i've not tested it yet so just guessing there.

The link I posted says 3% less than sha256 and 14% less than scrypt, but I've never actually tested this myself as I do not have the right equipment to do so. The other cool aspect is that it hashes a ton faster than scrypt while still using less power to do so.

With Blake i guess there is a chance that asics could seriously be developed since it is a single algo that is not memory hard. So although it looks like a very nice algo we need to think about it because we are moving from scrypt because of the asic issue.

Running away from scrypt asics only because their price is absolutely ridiculous. Quoted from the link I posted:

Quote
The idea that ASIC resistance is important for crypto currencies has become widespread, however it is based on a fallacy.

If and when asics for blake256 are built, they will be much much more affordable, and asics are necessary for a coin in the long term. When a coin becomes popular, it gains a lot of attention; this prompts the asic manufacturers to spring into action and create asics for the "hot" algo, those asics in turn help secure the blockchain. Asics didn't kill BTC, and they won't kill LTC or DOGE either, but they will kill a ton of crap/shit coins due to pathetically low network hashrates. Beecoin currently doesn't have enough network hashrate to survive scrypt asics, so it's best to move to blake256 to avoid attacks and give the coin a chance to move forward and become popular enough to gain enough hashrate before blake256 asics are ever invented and released.

So the only reason to run from asics is because we have a pathetically low network hashrate right now, but once we have enough then there won't really be a need to run, plus we position BEE optimally so that when blake256 asics do arrive that a lot of miners will be able to continue to mine BEE by buying affordable asics instead of ridiculously expensive scrypt asics.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 09, 2014, 03:05:52 AM
Yes we need an abe block explorer whatever one of those is. That is something else. I'm not sure who can build us one. Will it need to be altered if we move to another algo?

I understand a lot of people are voting for blake 256 with POS... but what is great about it... what advantages does it have and why are so many people voting for it?

I'll quote myself from the first page.

Whoever is voting for x11, shame on you. After all the drama in the last couple of days about x11, it's become crystal clear that the average joe miner is being suppressed and inefficiently mining while a select few mine with a more optimized mining software which potentially gives them higher gains. It is the only reason why some members would cry bloody murder when confronted with providing technical answers as to why x11 is more energy efficient and/or secure than any other chained algo.

I personally think Blake256 might be the way to go. Reading http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/1xue3t/blakecoin_blake256_optimized_faster_than_scrypt/, and it looks like a very promising algo.

Edit: also, anyone mining at bee.updamoon.com? Coins haven't been confirming for hours. I'm not sure when it started but it's definitely been in the last 24 hours.

We need a block explorer, I just noticed the original one is offline/gone.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 09, 2014, 02:44:15 AM
If only bee.updamoon.com would fix their pool. Blocks haven't been confirming there for days now. Sent an email to them and still no reply.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 09, 2014, 01:19:10 AM
Lol you are openly attacking a Dev who took to support BEEcoin without asking anything back and now you saying I asking money to release the wallet?Mate get your facts straight.

If you want you can help out , if not then you can refrain , it's your choice this is a democracy.

You aren't forced to do anything.

But openly attacking attacking the Dev or the community or disrespecting the same is unappreciated.

You think making coins can be done out of thin air? lol.

Please get your facts straight before posting any more vague replies.

Ofcourse I've noticed there are many people like you trying to pull the leg when there is something being done.

I just don't care!

I think everyone should just calm down. He wasn't trying to say that you asked for money to release the wallet; he took GREEDYJOHN's response as such, and to be completely honest it came across as if he was asking for donations before the new wallet was released. It was a bit distasteful.

I just tried

https://www.allcoin.com/trade/bee_btc

and it said the market does not exist and I was redirected to the site home page. Like you said there is still a BEE/litecoin market there. They must have recently removed the BEE/bitcoin market because BEE was trading below 1 sat.

They fixed the OpenSSL bug quickly though. The top of the site currently says

We've solved the OpenSSL Heartbleed Bug and passed the safety test

The BEE/BTC market has been gone for a few weeks now.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blatant Scam Darkcoin - Instamine 2 millions drk = 1.2 million USD !!! on: April 08, 2014, 10:32:53 PM
You have a serious understanding problem, 500 XCO per block was part of the specifications

Currently the reward formula is controlled by 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2), but originally was controlled by (1111 / (diff+1 ^ 2)) with a maximum cap of 500, so the reward was 500 until diff got to 0.49+ (do your math) as per coin specifications.

Code:

 int64 static GetBlockValue(int nBits, int64 nFees)
{
    double dDiff =
        (double)0x0000ffff / (double)(nBits & 0x00ffffff);

    int64 nSubsidy = (1111 / (pow((dDiff+1),2)));
    if (nSubsidy > 500) nSubsidy = 500;
    if (nSubsidy < 1) nSubsidy = 1;
    nSubsidy *= COIN;

    return nSubsidy + nFees;
}

And if you follow the thread, some weeks after launch, once diff was always high, seeing that the coin was getting popular and with that formula the reward was going to be misery amount soon, dev updated the reward formula to something that would deliver a more fair amount of coins even a lot of new miners join, that's when 2222222/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2) was added (and finally replaced the old one because diff wasn't going to be low enough anymore), just to make it more fair!

There was a problem with difficulty adjustment, this is something that many coins have at launch, diff wasn't adjusting quick enough, and where most devs just ignore the problem, he pushed an update to fix it.

And "All mined in the first 24hours by just a few wallets", go check the block chain, there were more than 1k wallets mining the coin at launch.

I won't deny the first 24 hours produced an important percentage of the total coins (about 2% when cap was 84M and about 9% with the cap at 22M), no one is trying to deny this, but call this scam? This was always public knowledge, not intended and no one lied about it, so everyone who invested or is investing (money or mining) knew and knows this, read the first 10 pages of the thread, it's all there.

Now go and read the first 10 pages of the thread, then read the rest of the thread, and then go find any other coin with a dev dedicating 1/10th of the time DRK's dev is dedicating to deliver more and more features and trying to make it as fair as possible, and then come back and reply.

Please, leave facts when you reply, because we all know you will reply, I'm just hoping this time is something different.

Btw, you are still in time to buy some coins, so please, do it, I'll be happy for you once you see profit in a couple of months.

You talk about fairness after the flash mine, as if it carried any weight after the fact. You can't possibly think everyone here is that daft.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think the shitcoin flood is ending ... on: April 08, 2014, 10:26:00 PM
i don't think the cycle can continue forever, this time is different...

someone can't expect the same shit every year

You underestimate the stupidity of the average forum user and the cunning of the average scammer.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POS]PoSCoin - 100% premined - Pure POS - IPO - Launch 21.04.2014 00:00 CET on: April 08, 2014, 10:20:09 PM
And what would give you the right to announce this coin dead?
You are not affiliated with this coin in any way!

The community decides when a coin is dead, not the dev. Without miners and traders all you have is crap software that does nothing.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: **CRYPTOHUNTER A SHILL AND CON-ARTIST...LETS TAKE A CLOSER LOOK.** on: April 07, 2014, 10:15:12 PM
OMG! I was arguing with someone who was younger than my daughter? That makes sense. You catch a teenager in a lie and they lash out like a child. I am officially embarrassed. 17 years old? I have a house, wife, two children... my own business. I spent 3 years in the military. I have a Degree, 8 years living in Asia... and this whole time I was arguing with a fucking kid who lives with mommy and daddy? This little turd hasn't even finished high school? I knew something wasn't right. Teenagers ALWAYS get caught in lies because their MINDS AREN'T FULLY DEVELOPED... Time to bury me head in the sand!

NOW he is on the DARKCOIN THREAD TRYING TO BLACKMAIL THE COMMUNITY. I AM OUT OF THIS FUCKING FORUM. NO ADULT IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL TAKE CYPTO INVESTING SERIOUSLY WHEN CHILDREN ARE RUNNING THE HOUSE. I HAVE INVESTED OVER 15K AND CHILDREN WHO DONT EVEN PAY TAXES, RENT, HAVE A FUCKING JOB... ARE BLACKMAILING MY INVESTMENTS?HuhHuhHuhHuh??

No offense, but in the short time since you've been here I've seen you act just as young if not younger than a 17 year old. It's pretty telling that you even choose to type in all caps as if it changes anything your trying to say at all, or perhaps you somehow believe that all caps demonstrates how angry and how loud you're. Well it doesn't; in fact it's just annoying.

Age really is irrelevant when each and every person on these forums is capable to acting with a level of idiocy that seems to have no end; like a bottomless pit of stupid.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 07, 2014, 09:41:53 PM
PLEASE INFORM THE DEV, IF YOU PREFER BLAKE256 WITH POS, OVER BLAKE256.

Just to clarify, do you mean to send soopy a PM? Because you know, posting in this thread would indicate that we are letting the dev know.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 07, 2014, 09:26:51 PM
I have made the changes to accommodate your request my friend.
Blake has it's advantages and both have been tried and tested.

It's just a matter of time for the votes to come in I believe.

I voted for blake256, but would have rather preferred blake256 with POS.

To say it with an image for this coin:

I almost pissed my pants laughing.  Grin
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][10-5] TenfiveCoin - Designed for Mobile - MANDATORY UPDATE 0.9.0.0 on: April 07, 2014, 01:20:39 PM
This might be why:

Thanks to a tip from someone in the community, I finally managed to track down Jacob in a private server and had a private chat with him. Unfortunately the conversation did not turn out the way that I had expected and I feel the community needs to know and understand what is currently happening behind the scenes over the several past weeks or so. Pastebin link of the conversation: http://pastebin.com/Vr34eE8W

So instead of willingly handing over the coin towards myself and the crew, he wanted to bribe me and bring me onboard to use me to promote the coin.

So I was essentially left with two options. 1) Keep quiet and accumulate large amount of pandas myself and make some decent cash based on their plan and collaboration with wolong or 2) Keep my conscience clean and go ahead with revealing these disgusting details on him and his group's plans.

I ended up deciding to go with the latter, as Jacob got one thing wrong which is detrimental to their plan: I don't hold large amount of pandas and neither does the team that is onboard with me. Our plan was to gain a reputation on reviving dead coins in the alt-coin community and make decent fees off bounties raised from their respective communities by doing solid dev work and investing a bit of our assets into the coins that we are reviving.

There you have it folks, my team and I will now be researching another viable coin to revive and moving on from this coin. Do what you will with the information provided from the pastebin link above.

Bdanyo

I don't know if this is true or not, but given these bozo's track record we can safely assume it's more than likely true.

It's over for this coin, but then again it was over before it even began.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 07, 2014, 11:35:43 AM
Oh, greate! Finally, we have a new topic. I'm still busy Sad. Seems I lost somethings interesting in Bee Community? About the poll, are the blake256 algo available with POS?

Blake256 with POS sounds interesting for sure.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive, Bees Back Flying!New Client Update! on: April 07, 2014, 09:08:14 AM
Maybe you should try solo mining at the moment.

Solo just isn't an option when all I can do is 100Kh/s unfortunately.
