1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Ƀ+] BlakeBitcoin Blake-256 GPU and FPGA Merged Mined on: May 13, 2014, 10:49:07 AM
Virustotal is now showing 12/52 detection ratio on the windows wallet. Whilst I trust bluedragon, it would be nice / useful if the dev could comment on / deal with this.

I've scanned the windows wallet with virustotal and am getting 6 positives for "gen:variant.kazy.364047"

Not sure whether this is just detecting a bitcoinminer or something more risky.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BLC] Blakecoin Fast Blake-256 Cryptographic Coin for CPU/GPU/FPGA on: May 02, 2014, 08:23:23 AM
I've been solo mining blakecoin for a few days, however, the Blakecoin-QT keeps going into a state where it stops updating blocks from the network. It hasn't frozen as I can still access menus and the debug windows. It still shows "up to date" and "n active connections to blakecoin network". The miner keeps running and is clocking up blocks which will obviously never confirm.

Is this a known issue / can anyone think of a workaround? I'm using v0.8.9.0 which I think is the latest version. I'm using the cgminer.conf shown on P1 of this thread - are there any new nodes?

Thanks.

sounds like the boost bug, 0.8.9.0 was built with boost 1.54 and it has a known network connection bug in the library

here is a qt build I did on the weekend with boost 1.55 and openssl 1.0.1g
http://blakecoin.org/Blakecoin-0.8.9-WIN-boost-1.55.7z

backup you wallet beforehand and please report any issues

Edit:
if you are still getting the issue after then it might just be hash flooding e.g too many diff 1 shares for wallet to solve

best thing to do in this case is to either split the solo mining between several wallets or use Eloipool as a private pool e.g no front end or db

Just to let you know, I'm still getting the same issue with the new wallet, however when mining on the pool I'm getting a long query time so I think there may be a network problem somewhere at my end. New wallet appears fine apart from that.

54321042 is my guess

Anyone mining on zs.eliteminer.net?

I've been waiting on a payout for some time but it hasn't come through.

EDIT: It's on the block explorer. I've added some extra nodes from above and I am now showing 310 block remaining. Not sure if it's a download issue or another fork.

Doesn't look like a pool issue, wallet is sticking at block 6851 - have tried deleting all except wallet.dat as recommended in OP.

Thanks, will try and let you know how it goes.

Any update on merged mining?

Ah, found this where ngzhang cites the bad driver as a reason for the change to FT232. Anyway you should check which version of the driver you are using.

Yep, that's the post which I had read previously.

Hi,

I recall reading elsewhere when trying to download the drivers that there were "issues" with the Icarus drivers on windows and the USB interface was different on Lancelot because of this.

As an experiment I've moved to another computer (win xp 32 bit instead of server 08r2) and this seems to have fixed the problem for now.

I will try a linux build over the weekend.

Thanks again.

Tried dropping the clock from 160 to 150MHz last night, made no difference.

I'm trying a selection of cables now to see if this helps.

I have noticed that when one or more boards goes SICK / DEAD that it is impossible to close cgminer (even "end process" fails) and a reboot is required. Also the Lancelot never goes SICK.

Is anyone else having problems with Icarus boards going SICK / DEAD?

I don't think it's the boards themselves as a reboot of the computer sorts the problem without turning the Icarus off / on.

I'm guessing it may be the windows USB serial drivers. Does anyone see this issue on Linux?

Thanks.

was BLC removed from coinmarketcap.com? i dont see it there. seems strange since there are plenty of other coins with less activity

I noticed it was not on the list today not sure why and no contact from dev  Undecided

It's there now, at position 107.

Tried to register on EU2 but got no email so far, working on NY1 however.

Gmail/MSN work as email on newer MPOS versions

check you spam folder

Checked the spam folder - nothing there. Not too worried as working fine on NY1.

Looks like the EU1 pool is down Sad

Yeah, sorry.

Not your fault, I managed to get the correct cgminer first time, should have backed up or taken notes!

Does anyone know the recommended / normal spacing when stacking Icarus boards? Mine do not have the metal spacers supplied with them.

Also is it better to stack horizontally or vertically? I would guess vertical would provide better cooling but is made difficult due to connector positioning etc.

I'm also trying to work out why my USB hub blew up. By my calculations, the 5V USB line should be supplying a max of 0.03A - 20mA for the PL2303HXD and 5mA per LED max (due to the 1k series resistor). This being the case a passive hub should be adequate for several boards (the one I had was active and the PSU rated at 1A allegedly). Am I missing anything here?

Thanks again, you're a genius - I had the wrong cgminer. Cry

have you tried to just load the .bit does it get same result?

Yes, tried that.

It's doing the same with a board which was working pre power surge and with one which was not connected before but I have programmed since if that makes sense.

Makes me think it's to do with the cgminer setup as I did not have this backed up and am trying to get back where I was.

Currently reading up on bitstreams as I don't recall doing this bit the first time:

Copy the bitstream folder from the official cgminer-3.1.1 distribution.
Replace ztex_ufm1_15y1.bit with the BlakeCoin bitstream.

Arghhhh!

Connected up a USB hub to hook up multiple Icarus boards, 5 mins later BANG! The power supply for it exploded (blown 2' in the air).

The HDD in the PC I was using seems to be fried. I have reinstalled Impact, cgminer etc. but now getting this error:

Icarus detect: Test failed at COM3: get 00000000, should: 00468bb4

Here's what I have in the batch file:

cgminer --disable-gpu --icarus-timing 1.0=20 -S COM3 --cainsmore-clock 160 -T -o stratum+tcp://eu1.blakecoin.com:3334 -u user -p pass

Using the blakecoin cgminer, with the windows binary from here:

https://github.com/kramble/FPGA-Blakecoin-Miner/tree/master/cgminer

The units are detected as COM ports and the done lights come on as expected.

Am I missing something simple?

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I haven't blown up the Icarus boards as I am getting the same symptoms with a board which was not connected at the time.
