https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benford's_law

Benford's Law, also called the First-Digit Law, refers to the frequency distribution of digits in many (but not all) real-life sources of data. In this distribution, the number 1 occurs as the leading digit about 30% of the time, while larger numbers occur in that position less frequently: 9 as the first digit less than 5% of the time. Benford's Law also concerns the expected distribution for digits beyond the first, which approach a uniform distribution.
This result has been found to apply to a wide variety of data sets, including electricity bills, street addresses, stock prices, population numbers, death rates, lengths of rivers, physical and mathematical constants, and processes described by power laws (which are very common in nature). It tends to be most accurate when values are distributed across multiple orders of magnitude.

Sorry to be a nerdy buzzkill, but out of the 2363 historical closing prices since 2004:

ticket 1 =  .00 - .09 comes up 339 times - or 14.3% of the time.

ticket 9 = .80 - .89 comes up the least at 203 times - or 8.6% of the time.

5  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Original Xbox Console Modded XBMC 80GB Drive HD 720p - Australia on: January 07, 2014, 11:19:26 PM
Auction ends Sunday January 19 at 10:00AM Australia/Sydney time.
6  Economy / Auctions / [AUCTION] Original Xbox Console Modded XBMC 80GB Drive HD 720p - Australia on: January 07, 2014, 10:13:09 PM
For auction is an original Xbox console, which has been modded with mod chip and 80GB drive and has XBMC installed.

System comes with:

1x HD component cable for 720p HD - no other video connection cable supplied! Make sure your display can accept component in!
1x Original Xbox controller
1x Logitech Wireless Xbox controller
1x Power cable

System works great - no problems at all, however if you turn on the system with the eject button instead of the power button you get the “Service required” screen - so don’t do that. This has something to do with the modchip and XBMC (starting the system with eject is supposed to disable the modchip)

Postage will be $18 AUD to anywhere in Australia. I will only post to Australia - sorry!

Don’t bother bidding if you are listed in the Scam Accusations board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0
The auction will run in Australian dollars and for BTC exchange rate we’ll use the 20 minute rate in AUD listed here (ignoring agent fee of course): https://www.getbitcoin.com.au/buy-bitcoins

Escrow? No: I am willing to trust the buyer and I will send the item first, before I receive payment!!! All I ask is that the buyer pay for the postage up front.

Here is how it will work:

  • After you win, PM me your mailing address and pay me $18 AUD in BTC to 1J1mbAQzjNKNyxymxm4BE1pxZwgKwg8sam to cover the postage (using getbitcoin.com.au for the exchange rate)
  • Reply to this thread stating that you’ve paid and how much in BTC. I will then send you the item, tracked and registered via Australia Post
  • Once you receive the item, pay me the final auction amount in BTC (again using getbitcoin.com.au for the exchange rate) to 1J1mbAQzjNKNyxymxm4BE1pxZwgKwg8sam and post a reply in this thread stating that you’ve received the item and how much in BTC you paid for it.
  • I’ll then reply to mark you as an honest trader in the “List of honest traders” thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=484.0 and I’ll also reply here to this thread.

This works because receipt of your payments to me are recorded in the blockchain here https://blockchain.info/address/1J1mbAQzjNKNyxymxm4BE1pxZwgKwg8sam - and we have evidence of the item being sent via the tracking number.

If you scam me, and don’t pay, well that sucks for me, but everyone here will be able to see that you haven’t paid (via the blockchain). I will report the scam to the NSW Police (not that I expect them to actually do anything) and I’ll post here and in the Scam Accusations board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 …then I’ll probably have a nice long cry and feel stupid for putting faith in humanity. ;)

Happy bidding: let’s start at $0.01 - no reserve!

Check out this site if you haven't already seen it: http://coinmarketcap.com/

I think it lists pretty much all the cryptos, and ranks them by "market cap".
