1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 50 000$ to invest and i dont need to pay electricity for bitcoin mining on: November 03, 2014, 03:50:16 PM
Why is it so hard to believe that some people have free electricity.

I also have free elictricity at my office i rented.
The electricity cost are charged at a fix flatrate.

However I tried with some miners and office became loud and miners run hot, so I cannot use my unlimited electric power.

If one pool controls more then 50% of the network it can fake transaction because more then the half of the miners would validate the fake transaction. They could create any balance on there account they want. And the real value of the coin would drop to 0.

I compiled BFGminer on my Linux server... here is the output:
....
I'm not sure what SICK means yet, but you can see it's delivering 172Mhps.
Sick just means something's not right.  Did you try my suggestion for bfgminer with these, in which you point the second instance of pool address (and/or port) to some device:port that is NOT running a stratum proxy?

My guess is that will fix your "SICK" finding and then it'll run long enough for you to find the actual hashrate.

Thank you, I had forgotten about that... I've now added it to my configuration.

Things are starting to look better now... I'm getting a lot more activity on the cube.

and LP are working... I think you're on to something Smiley

i'm still getting reboot after 2min

can you explain what you added to your configuration to get it finally hashing

EDIT:

FIXED

The reason was the switch and also the router.

I hooked the CUBE and the Laptop to a "TP-LINK POE Switch" and it immediately start mining as expected. I guess the reboot comes from a watch dog which reboots when it fails to mine.

Of course the POE function of the switch is useless but at least the switch enables the Miner to mine.

With miner you mean the proxy? The PC is not mining just for proxy
8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 09, 2014, 10:54:57 AM
Then please tell me what I can try to change to get the network issue fixed?

The Miner is connected directly to the router same is the PC.

Is the network defective in the Miner?
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 09, 2014, 09:20:14 AM
My configuration is really not complicate:

mining_proxy.exe --host stratum.bitcoin.cz --port 3333 --getwork-port 8332 --stratum-port 3333

Also tried 50btc and btcguild no real difference.

tried also different but I really don't think it is the proxy.

Concerning the Long Polling. It starts with long polling then disables it then a little bit later it makes restart.

Can you tell me what is normal state of the Miner? LED OFF or LED RED ??

I wait for the 750 corsair PSU hope this can help or I have an expensive brick.

The real problem is the restart. Is there possibility to login to the device and see more info with USB or this other service port?

However the 500Watt and 650 Watt PSU can start the cube.

The 500Watt the LED stays red.
The 650Watt the LED goes off and it seems to start mining but also after exactly 2 min it reboots.

yes the screws are well tied. Two where lying in the case when the packaged arrived. This was the first thing I did prior to booting up the device.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: January 08, 2014, 02:22:09 PM
Tried different PSUs from 500-650-700 Watt

Tried brand new Cougar Power X 700 Watt. Id does not even start with this one. Just the fan turns shortly then off.

I now ordered a new one: Corsair CX750

Hope this will work.

I've got my block errupter, set my Mining Proxy. However the Problem is the device restarts every 2 min. I geht very lo Hashrate of 200mhs or so...i trief different power supplies but no Luck.

All cards are correctly installed and show in the miner config with "  o "

You've come to the right thread... I had issues too, my saga started at post #725.  However, I'd recommend going through the thread completely to rule out as much as you can. (not sure from your message if you have yet or not)

Hi Shaker242, I read through your post but my problem is not only slow mining it simply does reboot all the time. After 2 min. reboot.Actually you do not tell how you solved the problem.

The LED stays red on some powersupply. On the other it goes off but also after 2 min restart it connects to my windows binary proxy. And also I tried to compile the slush proxy on ubuntu which connects now the same way, but no luck getting this brick to mine.
