7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / A few questions about smart contract on: January 29, 2022, 09:48:51 AM
Hi everyone!

I am fairly new to being active on this forum but I read the rules and now I am ready to ask some questions Smiley Hope it's not too much for the experts here and hope I don't sound too stupid asking them.

Information I could find online about the specifics of the smart contract is pretty confusing and there is so much content around which makes it even more confusing - you know, what to watch, who to listen to, etc.

Seems like everyone is a crypto expert lately (sarcasm)

Anyway, what I don't understand is how creating a token and smart contract is connected so I am going to go in that direction with my questions.

Question 1 Can I first create a token on some platform and then can I create a smart contract separately and create any functions I want?

Question 2 I am also confused about the https://remix.ethereum.org/ platform. It's used to create smart contracts? Can I make it run on BSC even if this is IDE by Ethereum?

Question 3 Is there any platform to create and code smart contracts without actually knowing the programming language? How much should smart contract coding cost? I saw some services on Fiverr ranging from 300-500€ for the front end and back end done in react & solidity with web3 connectivity.

Question 4 If you create a smart contract on BSC, is this bscscan.com the only place you can modify it or am I looking at it from the completely wrong perspective?

Thank you in advance

Great reply!

I like this one "you have to hype the underlying project, the one that will bring usefulness to the token, and then hype the token" cause it makes total sense. For example, you start with your project and build some kind of community by let's say FB ads and FB groups. Then you can present your token to that community. Awesome man.

And yeah, the budget can dry super quick, I am aware of that. That's why I want to explore as many options before I make a decision. I know I'll have to loose some money, but I am used to that when exploring new stuff that'll make me money in the long run.

Advertisers on Twitter are not so useful. I've talked with some founders and they told me It's mostly bots and fake followers. Their organic reach is close to zero considering the quality of real users who follows them. Shilling on the other hand can get you some results, but also brings you a lot of inactive members in your community which looks like it's fake, have you tried it?

Thanks for naming options with bitcointalk! I'll definitely explore them Smiley I am also looking to explore the service section here. Is there any recommended provider?

How about pinksale or poocoin or similar platforms where you can do your presale or advertise your product?  What is your opinion on those?

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Token Audit General Discussion - what, why, where, how much? on: January 28, 2022, 08:52:47 AM
Hey everyone!

I am a newbie and looking to learn more about audits.

What I learned so far about an audit is that it's used as proof that your project is legit - like there is no rug pull function in the smart contract (is this correct?)

The most famous one is Certik?

What I don't know is how much does it cost and what are the other options to get one? Is it always paid or there are free options?

I've also read about KYC. It's level up from the audit as I see it? Basically, some company who's providing the KYC check guarantees for your project and your team. Like there are real people and developers behind the project?

Please join with your questions if you have any. I hope we'll get some replies here.

Thank you in advance Smiley

Hey Neurotic, thanks for getting back Smiley

Ok, we can agree with that point. Token definitely must be useful. But still, you created the most useful token in the world and let's say you don't have a big budget to advertise it on yahoo finance and other popular places but you still need to spread the word somehow. I am not talking about scams here or any particular project so let's forget that for a moment. Just trying to speak generally.

So, you need to think creatively and create a buzz with let's say only 1-2k$. What would you do?

Let me relate to SEO.

If it was for SEO, I'd find an expired domain for ~300$ and spend everything else on content based on my keyword research. But that's the long-term game as you need to wait for Google to index it and then rank it...

While with the token, it's a completely different story. You need an initial buzz to create a community when you publicly announce the project launch. So how would you do it?

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for a long time here and wasn't very active in the discussions.

Let me shortly introduce ourselves.

We are just a group of SEO specialists looking to expand the list of services to our crypto client (yes, we have only 1 client from the crypto industry) such as influencer marketing, landing page design, press release, content writing, social media, community growth, etc

We are not looking to get spoon-fed with step by step guides but just a general discussion about new projects marketing. We can figure the rest.

I am not afraid to share the knowledge that I got by working with hundreds of clients outside of the crypto industry.

So to start, what is the best way to approach marketing after the new token is launched?

We saw that YouTube and Tiktok influencers work pretty well. Press release works well too. We also talked with some people who tried IG influencers but that didn't work well. Twitter is not bad to keep the level of engagement and buzz.

Reddit and bitcointalk is a must but what else is there? Is it worth listing your token on some low profile exchanges? Quora? Other non-related forums?

How about black hat methods? Does shilling work for you or is that too aggressive? I saw a few bots that can automate the process.

Since I am trying to squeeze some knowledge from this forum, I encourage you to ask me anything about my strategies and I'll try to write it with as many details (not sure if I can post URLs here).

Ask me about
  • SEO (including black hat SEO)
  • Outsourcing work
  • How to find new clients
  • How to scale business
  • Backlink building

Thank you, everyone.
