Hi Leute,
Cheers

Hi Clark, your platform looks amazing! Could you tell a bit about the technical implementation details? Mostly I'd love to know (1) what framework you're using for the modular window-based layout and (2) are you using some sort of library for the rendering of the charts and technical indicators or have you written everything from scratch? And (3) did you work on the project alone and how many hours went into it? Looks like a lot... I study computer science that's why I'm interested Mark

Got my tracking number, waiting for customs clearance now...
Also, I'm impressed that Avalon sent my order via DHL Express!! Thanks :-)

Thanks for your feedback! A live ticker, time and sales, and an order book will come along with the live charts. Since this is a non-profit project that I'm developing in my spare time, please consider donating.

Hi guys, I want to present you a little project that I created in my spare time: http://btclive.markgoldenstein.com/I know there are already some charting webapps out there but as far as I know the only one featuring historical charts is Bitcoincharts. But their charts are not interactive... and I simply LOVE interactive charts! If you use my charts, you can choose between candle and line charts and also between linear and logarithmic scale. You can zoom in by selecting the area you want to see right on the chart and you can analyze the data with down to the minute precision! Also, I'm planning to add real time features to the chart (that's why it's called btclive), so that you'll be able to watch the live trading stream right in the context of the historic data - but it's not yet implemented. I hope that you will find this service useful and I'm looking forward to your feedback. Regards, Mark

It might be a little glitch in the software but it does not really matter, because: A "dump" (sell) is also a "buy" at the same time. People tend to overlook this, but there are always two sides to any trade.

Alright, thanks for the clarification.

I've put the device up on ebay instead. Check it out if you're interested.

Also, if you look at the current eBay prices, 30k EUR seems fair, especially since USDBTC is still rising.

Hi guys,
I've pre-ordered an Avalon Mining unit from batch #2 and I'm willing to sell it to the highest bidder. I accept payment in BTC and Euro. As far as I can tell, it's possible to change the delivery address at Avalon, so the device will be directly delivered to you. Alternatively, I'll ship it on the same day as it arrives. Or you could drive by and pick the device up from my place (Germany, Frankfurt am Main).
I'm okay with using an escrow service. I can also show you my ebay account which exists since 2001 and has 70 positive reviews. My Avalon order is confirmed by both WalletBit and the company, therefore I can show you proof of my Avalon purchase.
You pay for shipping, I'll pay for Escrow.
Bids start at 150 BTC.
Regards, Mark

Yeah, problem is I could not find any info about batch #1, either. Maybe someone from the happy group of batch #1 owners could be kind enough to share the dimensions? That'd be awesome!

Hello guys,
is there any info on the measurements of the Avalon ASIC unit? (Preferably batch #2, but info about batch #1 would be great as a starting point).
I've searched all the web and could not find anything.
Thanks!

Hi Keyur,
I think your site looks very promising, I'm looking forward to see it in action! However, please make sure to provide a payment option for us Europeans. SEPA bank transfers (like with empty gox) would be nice; and you can also have a look at Bitcoin7, they offer the possibility to use Ebank transfers which make the payment appear within seconds in their system. The only thing that sucks with Bitcoin7 is their withdrawal concept: they demand ridiculously high fees (12-22 EUR which is about 17-31 $).
Cheers, Mark

YES, IT WORKS!!!!!! ... not.

You can only really use several servers for the website itself. The actual order matching need to be done on a single processor detached from the front end. They could at least detach the entering of orders into the database and the actual order processing. Also load balancing for the frontend (which is terribly slow) and for MySQL (which seems to crash frequently) should be a must-have. I doubt they have any of this...

If this take too much longer I'm going to make a javascript that will just hammer them with my order!
Please do, will buy script for 0.1 BTC. I can offer a Perl script, what do you think about that? @elements You're welcome!
