Am I alone having issues for compiling foxcoin?
On my side there are issues on https://github.com/CoinFox/FoxCoin/blob/master/foxcoin-qt.pro
a # is missing line 54.

Of course it is simple to resolve. But I have other issues like problems for accessing to the translation.
Anybody has a fixed version of this file?

Thanks

Difficulty is officially below 1. Seems like a dead coin..

As it's not fair to judge the success of a firm after two daysweeks, I would avoid to judge foxcoin too quickly.
Most of the altcoin I saw was: quickly mined by huge miners, quickly integrated on some good exchange places, quickly selled, quickly dead.

The time for hungry pumpers is now off. Because it's not following this standard dying process.
That means that everybody now can easily mine it (or dig it if we follow the fox terminology).
Everybody can contribute to the network, be thanked by their help, the money will be not owned by few people but with a lot of contributors. This is a really good situation for a stable economy.

What is missing now is the interface of this economy: exchange places, services.

Moreover, yes the foxcoin team is probably smaller than coins like dogecoin. It is doing less noise but I now that they work activly. This is a real difference compared to other coins where the creator writes one introduction post, and then disappear.

Thanks for this complete answer!
And very very intersting post concerning Electrum 2. Seems an exciting dev

Hi,

We're just wondering what does the phrase "pools soon available in-wallet" on the official FOX site http://foxcoin.info/ announcement mean?

The dev team aims to include directly into the wallet, the ability to do pool mining (as it is already possible to solo mine by CPU)
I'm not sure right now that it will replace the current solution (cgminer etc) for big miners. But for beginners it could be a great addition!
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Fox Coin Buy/Sell on: January 29, 2014, 04:21:14 PM
I've made a quick compute on Poloniex.
for around 1BTC (1.08 actually) a buyer can close all sell actions (which means around 78K Fox)

The question is to know how much this guy would win in case of resell. (in fact 3.75BTC if it's reselled at 0.00005 BTC/FOX)

edit:
I missed last lines which are obviously the most expensive.
One guy sell 152K at 0.0001 (so 15BTC)

For buying all sells it would cost 17.49BTC (for 243022 FOX)
Not the same budget!

But at the current rate, market will always flood with new coins punishing all your investors who are serious in it.

I'm not sure the issue is on the rate.
You are right that currently it's really easy to generate coins, compared to the situation 1 hour after the launching.

Nevertheless, it's easy to generate coins because the difficulty is low.
And the difficulty is low because the "mining" network is not mature enough. There were pumpers in the beginning, now just believers of this foxcoin. That is the reason why the hashrate remains around 160-170Mh/s

If you think it's too easy to gain foxcoins, so mine it! You will take advantage of this situation, and you will also contribute to the construction of a huge mining network.
This is how difficulty works.

Concerning the rate itself, having a rate decreasing slowly allows new miners to play with it.
In other altcoins where the rate decreases fast, early miners have the full monopole of all the market.
If you know that 80% of coins are mined in few days/weeks, is it interesting to continue mining after that?

The current rate allows a dilution of the market in a large number of wallet owners. It's better to see 80% of the coin owned by 80% of the miners, rather than 80% of the coin owned by 10% of the miners. I think it will help stability on trading because you will not see less huge owners selling their coins in one time.
For instance, take the situation of bitcoins. It seems stable, but if the FBI aims to sell their 100.000 bitcoins or more
in a short time, you will quickly be able to buy 1 bitcoin for just few cents Wink

What do you guys think about removing the hard cap of coins for FoxCoin?

By hard cap, do you mean the Maximum Coins: 1 Billion?
If yes, then you are talking about something which will happen in 3 centuries. Let's be honest Foxcoin will be dead (and us too) before that.

What does Fully Dynamic mean?
I would assume at least the fact that the difficulty is retarget at each new block, based on the Kimoto Gravity Well
(which realize a sweet readaptation, less sensible to net hashrate peaks)

There's a lot of blocks on the morehash pool that aren't getting any new confirmations. What's up with the pool?

Exact! Really strange :/

I try few times - 150K and 100K amount in one transaction. "Can`t create transaction" window.
only 50K max amount of transaction I can create than already sent it.
I sent three times by 50K and it success received

Hi Comrade!
Well I'm a bit noob on some aspects of cryptocurrencies, so perhap's what I will say is false but:
When you send coins to another adress it creates a new transaction based on other transactions that feeded your account.
If your account was feeded with a LOT of transactions, let's says 1000 transactions of 150coins (which is probably the case with 150K Cheesy ) then your export transaction will be huge (refering those 1000 transactions).

The more your transaction is huge, the more it will freeze your qt wallet, the time to create and send it to the network.
At a certain level, I can assume that the qt wallet or the network itself cannot handle a so huge transaction, which would create the error you had.

At least the qt wallet should inform the user with a friendly message that the transaction needs to be split.

So why the hell am I still mining this? IDK  Roll Eyes
Maybe FOX is so much cuter than DOGE

 Smiley I share this thought!

Well Fox is young. It will drastically change when several exchange plateforms will accept it.
The guy from Poloniex seems doing lot of effort, but this plateform is not famous (yet?)

Fox is dying? No buzz,  no giveaways...

I'm not sure we can valuate the vitality of a coin on giveaways Tongue
Just let fox growing up, it's a new born dependent currently to its creators. So yes, as you said, they have to maintain the buzz. For what I see, they are working actively in that way.

lol
at this price is much more interesting to mine doge...

Since fox is new, I'm expecting a huge increase of its price in the next days/weeks, as it behaves for most of new coins. This is why I prefer to wait before selling them.

from the begining, my FoxCoin wallet remains at 7 connections (the conf file is up2date).
Any idea where the issue could come from?

Thanks!
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoxCoin - A Fully dynamic Cyptocurrency [RELEASED! SMOOTH LAUNCH!] on: January 22, 2014, 04:45:30 PM
Around 75Mh/s on photo... )))))))
First lunched line of my "MEGA-FARMS" ))))))))

Hey I was not so far with my 60Mh/s !! And just one line of production?  Shocked
Really impressive! So Sochi is not just the capital of Olympic games, this year Wink

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoxCoin - A Fully dynamic Cyptocurrency [RELEASED! SMOOTH LAUNCH!] on: January 22, 2014, 03:54:46 PM
based on today day: 66 50 coins per hour (without wanting to advertise, I do it on morehash pool from the beginning).
I didn't try to sell one of them.
I hope to see the coin quickly on a trading website Tongue

Edit: The coins/h was a bit optimistic

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoxCoin - A Fully dynamic Cyptocurrency [RELEASED! SMOOTH LAUNCH!] on: January 22, 2014, 03:24:38 PM
based on the picture, I would estimate his hashrate at around 60Mh/s
@MrSoch
What do we win if we find the best hashrate?  Grin

20  Bitcoin / Electrum / Several questions for a web service based on Electrum on: January 20, 2014, 03:31:47 PM
Hello guys!

I want to develop a web game based on Electrum.
Users can spent the number of bitcoins they want for having an "internal" coin usable in this game

I want to use electrum on the server in watch only mode, for generating 1 address per user.
Idealy each time a user does a deposit,  the system detects it and increase his "internal" coin wallet.

- If I understand well, if I run Electrum with the main secret phrase I will be able to also see all secondary addresses generated for users. It is only dependent to the gap limit. Am I right?

- Can we control created addresses in another way than gap limit? I'm expecting that several users will record on the website without deposit anything (because they would be not interested on the game, finally). So the risk would be to have more "fake" users than the gap limit allows it. I would appreciate something like "give me 1 new adress" method.

- I saw a script merchant.py which is not focused on my workflow but which could be a good base for it. Because it works a daemon, does it mean we do not need qt4 libs for this? (no GUI). In fact I don't know how qt would behave on a server without graphical interfaces.
A question around it is: can we use electrum purely in a shell?

- How can we help the electrum network? There is a network fee, but is there any "electrum network fee"?

Thanks,
Polux
