1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Multi-crypto Wallet with API? on: September 10, 2019, 03:24:10 PM
Is there a multi-crypto wallet with API that could

1) Generate address for receiving transactions for given crypto via API
2) Initiate transfers via API
3) Allow notification hooks for incoming transactions (Payment detected, how many confirmations)

Hopefully, something locally located, without exposing funds to 3rd party.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What would happen if US government made Bitcoin illegal? on: June 15, 2019, 03:45:45 AM
Let's say tomorrow there's a US law that any US person who gets caught with bitcoin server goes automatically to jail for lifetime.
And the 2400 US bitcoin nodes would go offline.
What would happen to price?
What would happen to hash power?
How long would it take to recover?
Let's speculate!
3  Economy / Auctions / Cryptocurrency Game CoinDogs.co on: January 01, 2019, 01:48:01 AM
Description:

I am selling ownership of the crypto game http://CoinDogs.co

People like the game, it has a skill and chance component to it, however I'm busy with other projects and do not have the time to promote it and make it go big.

I'm a programmer with 20+ years of experience, used to work for a top investment bank, it has a solid bug free code and is secure.

It was developed over the period of 8 months with the help of top programmers and graphics designers.

It's in c# and MS SQL. It runs on autopilot and requires virtually zero support. All is needed is spending time on marketing it.

It runs on Litecoin but via Shapeshift API it also accepts 6 other coins including BTC.

As a owner you will have a about 10% cut from every transaction in the game and 100% from accessories for the dogs which help players win races.

Except of a couple of posts on Reddit, there was no paid advertising for this.

Because I did not promote at all it for about 6 months, currently there's no revenue or traffic.

Starting bid:
5 BTC

Buy it now:
10 BTC

End date and time:
Jan 31 2019

Payment methods accepted:
BTC

Additional information:

Great for anyone who owns crypto related website with existing traffic.

Thanks, I think this game would be perfect for someone who already has crypto related website(s) and has crypto traffic, this would be a perfect website that would generate more revenue than regular ads.

It runs on Litecoin but via Shapeshift API it also accepts 6 other coins including BTC.

As a owner you will have a cut from every transaction in the game.

Except of a couple of posts on Reddit, there was no advertising done for this.

I'm asking for 5 BTC and it's yours.

6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Zero Fee Trading? on: August 05, 2018, 06:00:38 PM
I have developed a profitable day trading strategy using neural nets and is very consistent. Works great but the problem is it takes only small profits $1 to $30 based on 1 BTC traded in and out. So any fees would kill it.

Is there any exchanges that allows to place market orders (buy at ask and sell at bid) without any fees? or crazy wide spread?

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Where do Whales shop for Crypto? on: June 21, 2018, 03:49:45 PM
I'm assuming bitcoin price jumps are driven by large orders from big hege funds or people with large amounts of money/crypto.
Which exchanges would these people/companies use?
I'm interested to explore if these big orders could be detected on the order books on some of the popular exchanges.
I'm assuming that if a whale places sell order with exchange X the price will be driven down and all other exchanges will follow.
Any ideas which main exchanges are driving the price changes most of the time?

P.S. I know usually large orders are split into lots of small orders to prevent detection, but still... I feel like some exchanges must play the role of the master while others are slaves.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will banks ever offer bitcoin deposits? on: May 29, 2018, 11:05:41 PM
I don't think this is ever going to happen. Maybe in the far future when all payments go crypto (I'm talking in 100+ years) there may be a different kinds of "banks" we can't even imagine, offering all kinds of services we can't even think of right now. But traditional banks as we know them will not give you interest from keeping hands on your coins.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at $1000? on: May 27, 2018, 08:46:55 PM
It seems to me that most people who replied here assumed that cryptoworld is going to stay the same as it is now for the next 5-10 years. I'm thinking about the big players stepping in and totally crushing bitcoin - making it useless. What if Facebook introduced a Facecoin and overnight 2 billion people would have an instant wallet on their phones with Facecoin that would have $0.05 fees and 30 second confirmations. What if amazon comes up with Amazcoin, and all amazon customers now have wallets and it's super easy to use. Would Bitcoin survive as a storage of value? Why would anyone even need it? I see Bitcoin as Myspace. Creating an industry, and super popular at some point, but where is it now? I'm not negative, just playing devil's advocate, and skeptic when hearing people say BTC is going to 100k.
15  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin at $1000? on: May 27, 2018, 03:21:52 PM
I feel like BTC at $8000 is still overpriced. Due to high fees and slow confirmations, it's not really suitable for payments. SegWit seem like just a hack to me. I know we are all Bitcoin optimists here at the forum but is anyone thinking that Bicoin is gonna go down to $1000 level in the next 5 years?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin on movies on: May 27, 2018, 03:12:05 PM
In the series Billions they talk about getting paid in cryptocurrency in several episodes. A hedge-fund manager got banned from trading by the government so he'll name another guy as the head of trading, direct the trades and get paid in cryptocurrency so the government can't see that.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value on: May 27, 2018, 02:59:48 PM
Bitcoin has value because people think it has value and will have even more value in future. The problem is bitcoin is not really suited for transactions, it has very high fees and is super slow and will not scale well. That's why many people suggested it has store of value and call it the "virtual gold". I see a fundamental problem with this. Most likely there will be a time in the future where even mainstream people realize that some other currency is much better for transactions (LTC, XPR, Facecoin or whatever new currency) because it was adopted by Amazon, Facebook, Google etc... and Bitcoin is obsolete technology and useless in most aspects. When that time comes BTC will lose its value. As for now most mainstream newbies do not understand or know anything about this, so that's why we see high value of Bitcoin.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum will go up or down? on: May 27, 2018, 02:14:39 PM
There's a change of about 50% of ETH going down and 50% of going up.... I'm bullish in long term as we all are on this forum.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: REMINDER: Protect Your Investment! on: May 27, 2018, 02:05:55 PM
If you do not own the private keys, you do not own your cryptocurrency.

Excellent point!!! Many newbies don't understand this important point! I learned this by my own mistake. I bought bunch of bitcoins in 2010 on a exchange and left it there. in 2017 was trying to get it back with huge problems. Only when I involved several lawyers and wasted ton of money and sleep over it, I was able to get my bitcoins back. Cold storage is the key!
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wanna be a trader on: May 27, 2018, 01:57:45 PM
First step to learn how to trade:

Go to the bank and withdraw $1000 in ten $100 bills, then go to the bathroom and flush one by one down the toilet. Try not to feel any emotions. If you can do that then you're ready for trading. If not then repeat the process or quit.

The truth is that real trading is one of the most difficult ways to make money. But it's possible to be profitable if you dedicate the time and effort. Money management is the key. Get some books on position sizes and money management. Discipline and money management are the key to successful trading.
