I plan on something very similar. My drawings allow room at the back so the motherboard can mount inward though. Also I'm only using twin PSU's. It's a 5 card 290 setup (running in a previous frame design), but soon to be a 7 card 290 rig.

I assume you're going for USB PCI-e risers? You might need to make it a bit deeper to allow for cable management.

Keep in touch, look forward to seeing your work! Seems building vertically is in the minority here!

The motherboard is also facing inward on mine. I'm using normal flex risers, working good so far.

Finished the building today. Still have to get a motherboard for 6 cards, new risers and a new psu though. Temps are pretty good but can be better. I'm going to try covering the sides, hoping this will increase the flow past the cards. Motherboard can be easily removed for quick access without touching the GPU's.

Anyone know which pools are giving good returns? I'm at GetBy now but their hash seems very low compared to the network.

What box is that? The black one with the blue rim on top

Just a simple shopping crate.
Dutchram,

What is your current enclosure made of?

When you build a new server, is there any reason you couldn't use more than 7 or 8 GPU's? Is there a limit?

Thanks,

joe
Current one is made of plastic as it is just a shopping crate. You could use more GPU's but this is the maximum you can fit on regular motherboards. If you wanted to add more, you would need to add another motherboard, cpu and ram so this seemed like the perfect number. If I wanted to, I could make it bigger though. Same principle would work with 10 or 20 GPU's.
Dimension?
The fans used are 200 mm so the base would be around 600mm x 250mm. Height wil be around 500mm.

This pool is abut H2O's trading magic.  He is able to make it more profitable by trading the coins, not just auto-exchanging them.
Couldn't agree more.  H20 is like a fund manager for our collective hashrate.  I think this is what gives him the performance edge over the other, purely automated pools.  The analogy in the traditional investment world would be mutual fund (middlecoin) vs ETF (the others).

I have no doubt that actively managing our 15 GH is a full-time job.  I don't want him to waste his time on server issues.  I want him to concentrate on the coin trades.
I think investing some of his cash in some assistance with the website would be nice. He doesn't have to do it all by himself.

4x 280x waiting on a 290x so I can add another.

What temperaturs do you have there? And what PSU???
coldest one: 67 and hottest one: 75.

Setup:
Proc: Intel Celeron G1620
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
RAM: Corsair Dominator CMP4GX3M2C1600C7
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast TX850M
        Seasonic M12II 750W 80+ Bronze
GPU: 3x Dual-x 280x 1x Vapor-X and in a few days a Gigabyte 7970

I'll be running the Dual-X's from the 850 Corsair and the Vapor and GB from the 750W, which will also power the Mobo and risers.

I'm planning on building this in a few weeks:

It'll run 7 280x's on 3 PSU's cooled by 6 200mm fans. All arranged vertical to create a natural flow upward.

This is the kind of message I like to receive Cheesy
Thank you for your constructive opinion, we will take it into consideration Smiley
No problem. Would love to see an exchange go live so good luck.

We're getting close of launching a closed beta in the next few days.
Any people would be interested to get in?
We will of course have a CKC/BTC market but also planning on letting the user decide which currency he'd like to trade for! Like CKC/CGB DOGE/MEOW CAGE/CNY etc... You choose what you want to trade for  Wink

I personally believe that such a move would diversify the market too much. There simply isn't enough volume to have a fair price on all those different combinations. Some combinations would only have one sale each day and would thus have a very weird price (probably very low).

Why not use one of the exchanges and have them wire the money? If privacy is the problem, I would go local as suggested above.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recycling of 'lost' bitcoins on: January 10, 2014, 01:19:42 PM
The main reason this is not necessary (besides the obvious problems it would create), is because a BTCcan be split in billions of pieces. Whereas a dollar/euro can only be split in 100 pieces. When the value of a currency rises to extreme points, you could end up with a car costing several cents. If this is the case then you will not be able to pay for something like bread as this would be far too expensive. That's the reason that banks make sure there is enough money circulating to allow people to buy what they want at the right price. But if a car was .01BTC, that would still allow people to buy bread for, for example, 0.0000001BTC. So there's no real problem in 'losing' coins.

Yes, however, what if governments ban it? If copamnies are forbidden to sale with Bitcoin, very few things will be able to be bought with it (only illegal). Don't you think this can drop price? You see what is going on in China already...
Well movie/music file sharing is illegal and look how successful they've been at stopping that.  I don't see how they could totally ban bitcoin without introducing a load of new laws and legislation which in itself would create another huge global privacy debate.  Bitcoin has been adopted by the people for the people.  That is a scary thought for governments and the puppet masters behind the scenes.
They would probably use laws already in existence. Here's a good article: http://www.wired.com/wiredenterprise/2014/01/stampact/ The legality all depends on the pressure from the banks and from people using it to prevent the payment of taxes. If those problems rise, we would see a push towards a ban.
