i dont get what is your purpose to make the project. are your project is to make a futuristic idea become realized?
Yes - to allow anyone to support and participate in the development of innovative technology. Our community (and target community) consists of people who have ideas for innovative tech projects, those who want to support certain technologies from a financial perspective, and those with knowledge and expertise to make such projects a reality. All earn a stake in the project proportional to their contributions, and all can have meaningful influence over the management and development of these projects. We've modeled the system off our years of experience designing and building hardware for advanced tech projects, particularly in the transportation sector. We've built two prototype Hyperloop pods which are the most advanced publicly demonstrated pods to date and were the first engineering systems entirely designed and manufactured by "the crowd". We're also in the midst of prototyping a new type of personal aviation device - not a flying car or taxi, but a 'motorycle for the sky' with vertical take off and landing. More details (including demonstration flights) will be coming shortly! |

History rLoop was initially formed over three years ago when a handful of individuals answered a challenge from Elon Musk and SpaceX to reimagine transportation via the Hyperloop Competition. Today over 1,300 people from more than 50 countries have rallied behind the rLoop concept. The community is diverse in geography, education, experience, and interests. It includes passionate and motivated designers, engineers, makers, and manufacturers. All collaborating together as equals, free to contribute in whatever capacity they choose, and united by a vision to create a better world through innovation. rLoop has demonstrated success with our distributed and crowdsourced community, our collaborations with industry partners, as well as our award winning Hyperloop designs and prototype vehicles. The community has won multiple international awards and designed and manufactured hardware that achieved numerous firsts in the Hyperloop space, including:
- First Hyperloop prototype vehicle with pressure vessel capable of supporting human life
- First Hyperloop vehicle levitating in place at partial vacuum
- First engineering system entirely designed and built by the crowd
The community retains interest in multiple projects including the Hyperloop, the future of flight, the future of work, and the future of information.
Ongoing Projects
Overview The rLoop Network is a decentralized innovation platform to create and support community-driven projects.
The platform is designed to allow anyone to propose innovative projects, incentivize the community to coordinate around the most appealing and viable projects, and support project development from the concept phase through development and launch.
The community signals support for a project, as well as their desire to be a part of its development, by staking their rLoop Tokens (RLP) to a projects bonding curve and receive a project-specific token in return. A partition of the tokens received by the bonding curve is available to the project in order to reward contributions and fund development. The project-specific token also permits influence over the project's development and management of the projects resources.
The cost to mint project-specific tokens increases as the token supply increases, which encourages early identification and support for the best projects. Project supporters have an incentive to productively guide development in order to retain existing supporters and attract new interest, and all project-specific token holders have meaningful control over future development.
Individuals can also ‘unstake’ project-specific tokens to claim RLP according to the bonding curve, reducing risk to project participants by providing constant liquidity and incentivizing productive contributions in order to attract more interest to the project. This also acts as a means to increase accountability, as supporters are likely to withdraw in the event of counter-productive or malicious activity.
Once a project has matured it can be launched on the rLoop Marketplace, with RLP as the primary method to acquire the product, service, or intellectual property. This distributes risk and reward among all projects and participants on the network, allowing for innovators to 'swing for the fences', eliminating information silos, and reducing duplication of efforts - all in favor of accelerating innovation.
The market and individual motivation to maximize profit serve to evaluate the viability of projects. All of these processes occur autonomously and unsupervised, entirely driven by the community - resulting in a permissionless innovation ecosystem.
