2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Blockchain powered immutable cloud computer on: April 30, 2017, 07:03:26 PM
Expanse block explorer seems not working correctly.

http://www.expanse.tech/explorer/
is saying that last block 60053 is found 3 minutes ago.

Actually miningpoolhub and dwarfpool is mining at 600294 block height
Bittrex's expanse wallet is on same chain too. Transactions confirmed correctly.

Network forked at 600000? Or just expanse block explorer not updated to latest wallet?
Seems very few miners are hardly finding blocks at old chain.

The explorer had inaccurate mixed data from older nodes reporting to it, it has been updated to only poll data from updated nodes and its data is being rebuild and verified. It will take about 10-15 minutes to rebuild the database and verify all its data accurate.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: August 05, 2016, 04:46:38 PM
How is that Expanse supply jumped from 2 million to 3 million in less than a week?  Instaming?

Coin market cap has routinely listed an incorrect value for our supply, we have contacted them many times and they fixed it, but then reverted back to 2 million after some time frame. We have continuously contacted them to resolve this issue, providing the API in which the lice value can be accessed directly : http://www.expanse.tech/explorer/api/accountsupply however they did not update it to a current value until just a few days ago.

https://steemit.com/news/@r0achtheunsavory/bitfinex-is-lying-about-the-hack-and-i-can-tell-you-exactly-what-likely-happened

Quote
Another obvious reason they've been insolvent for a long time is, a guy I know from one of the trading channels I'm in (Expanse dev - not franko, the other one) tried to make a 100 BTC withdrawal from Finex like five days ago and what happened? Finex canceled his withdrawal, gave him some bogus excuse, put his account on hold, and refused to let him take funds out.

Just more evidence EXP devs are getting rich pumping and dumping on their followers.

yah, that doesn't look good. it actually pissed me off to be honest.

can exp defend this?

I am the person being referred to in this post, and I would be very happy to 'clear up' this issue. First, in defense of the referenced post: r0ach is a good and long term friend of mine, I have known him for many years and he is a pretty good crypto analyst, very often correct in his analysis -- that being said, he often writes exaggerate and extreme opinions that are very assumptive and usually written in a speculatory nature -- the article in reference a great example; What he posted is interesting data, but certainty not proof bitfinex is lying about the hack to where one should express that claim directly as if its a fact, as opposed to a possibility. That doesn't mean the data isn't valid, or cause for suspicion, and I as I will address later in this post and my later article, that there is other "co-incidences" that are suspicious.

Now moving on to my personal holdings with bitfinex and your expressed concern with them:

 - Firstly, I have never held 100 bitcoins at bitfinex. I have never told anyone what my exact holdings are anywhere, I have  had many conversations regarding margin trading with r0ach and indicated loosely the size of various positions I have held in those discussions, but certainty never specified this number as I have not held a balance of that size at bitfinex. For the sake of his article he chose to say 100btc, and while that number is exaggerated from the reality, it might have been his best guess albeit an inaccurate one. Everything other than the 100BTC value he stated about my situation with bitfinex is accurate, and there is even more to that part of the story in which we will get back to in a moment.

 - Secondly, I have been working in the cryptocurrency / blockchain tech sector/scene for years before joining expanse, and two complete years before Expanse launched I left my job as a full time programmer to work in the blockchain tech space, in which virtually all of my income since has been in the form of bitcoins. Sufficient to say, I have been saving bitcoins for much longer than Expanse has existed. As a long time miner, trader, and developer, the amount of my holdings is no indication of any type of activity with any specific project I am a part of, or the various jobs I am contracted to do. I have never sold 1 satoshi on bitfinex, instead I have purchased multiple bitcoins there, and was trading my personal holdings.

 - Lastly, to clarify and validate r0achs reference to me/bitfinex in the post: I make no claim that it is anything other than co-incidence, but I had some very odd things happen with bitfinex the days prior to the hack:

Two months ago, my borrowing rates changed on bitfinex when they shouldn't have, suddenly I was paying a rate different than my contracted agreement. I contacted bitfinex support, opened a ticket, and reported the issue. They said they never heard of this happening before(which I found odd, because I have seen people discuss this issue in trading chats in the past) and would setup special 'monitoring' on my account. Flash forward to Four day before the hack, I logged into my account and saw my interest rates changed to .7% , not 0.07, .7% per day! I had locked in 30 day positions that shouldn't have been replaced for another week or so, there was no way this could be, yet somehow my margins had changed and I had been billed an insane amount of money over the few days that rate was set. I contacted support, opened a new ticket, mentioned my old ticket and having the issue then, but that this time it resulted in a giant loss to my account, not a trivial discrepancy. I immediately thought "If a bug like this is on their site, I don't know what to make of it", and filled a withdraw request for my balance. Hours later, I got an email saying the withdraw was approved -- but it never came. I logged into my account and it said 'Cancelled'. After several emails sent in a tone a little less professional than I preffer due to the stress of thinking I was about to lose my money to an insolvent exchange, they finally replied, saying they would credit my account the difference and then withdraw would be made available. My account was still on withdraw lock, and was set to remain locked to where I couldn't withdraw until Wednesday. I was waiting till Wednesday to get my withdraw, then on Monday... RIP....

I know your looking to attack the project, you've consistently demonstrated that behavior with little variation, and no clear interest in having a real discussion on any actual concern about the project or valid issue, any of which I would happily address. (While others don't want to waste the time giving you a dignified response because it is clear your purpose is just to harass/fud, I on the other hand welcome criticism of any source -- if its invalid/inaccurate, it provides a venue for us to openly present the accurate information and publically clarify the confusion that others might share on that topic, and if the concern being addressed is valid, it allows us to publically address that issue, express what lead to it occurring, discuss the projects view on the issue and our plans regarding it. In either case the public should be wholly informed, and I'm confident that an honest response will alleviate any concerns.)

Please take this situation for what it really is, it has very little to do with EXP, and certainly nothing to do with any dumping or selling of it. The only thing it has to do with EXP, is one of EXP's Devs, myself, had a large amount of his life savings over the past few years stolen/hacked in an instant.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone trust any eth clones? kr, shift. exp? on: July 31, 2016, 05:18:02 PM
I have very positive views towards Expanse, but perhaps as one of the developers I am a little biased. In any case, I hope I can provide some clarity and information that might be useful to everyone here.

Typically, when people express the kind of negative views as declared by some of the people in the post, it is because they have made inaccurate assumptions or heard misinformed claims and havn't spent the time to look into our project to determine if those assumptions or claims have any validity. Crypto has been full of scandalous projects and events, leading to a general view of cynicism when people give a look to new projects -- and rightfully so, everyone should be cautious in this space. People SHOULD give a long diligent review of ANY project before investing, joining a projects community, or otherwise contributing to it's future and development.

However, what seems to happen somewhat commonly among those that already have a level of frustration inside the crypto-space is they see a project like Expanse: one that has significant market growth very fast, and they by defacto assume its a pump and dump, they get filled with emotion-driven thought about how others are making money(off what they perceive as a scam) and they aren't, and then they out of that frustration feel a need to make sure others know its a 'scam'.  There are alot of projects in this growing industry that start up, drive their price up, dump then disappear into the night. Expanse is not one of them -- we are a long term project with strong demonstrated values, consistent growth, and constant development. If you are willing to look into the project, or even just express any concerns or questions you might have to someone such as myself and actually review the answer, I am confident you will come away with a radically different understanding of the project than that of the views expressed in this thread.

In regards to (assumedly un-researched) claims of being a 'copy and paste' project, if you look into our development history you will see that we have developed an array of our own software, toolkits, libraries, etc for the project, many of which are designed not only to work with our platform, but to provide cross support for ethereum as well. These range from simple small tools and libraries to aid dapp development, to full on Service toolkits that rival some of the largest projects in the blockchain space. For example, Borderless (www.borderless.tech) our Blockchain based governance services platform, consisting of multiple smart contracts, dapps, blockchain powered services, companion software, and more. In addition to the unique code, software, and other elements we have created for Expanse, several expanse core-contributors, myself included, have made accepted code and document contributions to various official Ethereum GitHub repositories -- highlighting we are interested in contributing to, and growing, the technology as a whole; not just our own platform. These are just a few examples of what we have accomplished to date, and we are always engaged in a strong plan of continued development and expansion, both in regards the platform itself, the software built around it, and a multitude of decentralized services and toolkits built ontop of it.

We have a driven, growing core team that is available and directly interacts with the community. Our community is awesome, its not just a bunch of people sitting around talking about wishing the price would go up, they are passionate about the project and contribute to it directly -- after all, its a community orientated project. Expanse is strongly guided by community input and contributions, and is open to all people including those who are team members or supporters of other projects in the space.

I encourage anyone here to join our slack channel(http://slack.expanse.tech) and participate, and learn a little more about the platform and community. I'm very confident if you spend some time looking into the project any concerns you might have will be relieved, and any questions you might have answered. In addition, if anyone has any inquiries regarding the projects current on-goings, future plans, project structure, has any questions of any type, or even anyone who might have heard any negative claims or rumors you are concerned about, I would love to address them. We are a completely open project that is very proud of what we have and continue to accomplish, and would love for everyone to be caught up to where our platform is now and where it is going. We don't want anyone to have any form of inaccurate impression or misunderstanding, and want to always be available to address and concerns or considerations anyone might have.

So, please give our project proper due diligence, don't let someone elses opinion be your own, weather its someone fuding it, or supporting it -- research it properly and make your own informed opinions. If you find you are one of the people calling it a scam, insisting the project offers nothing new and innovative, or anything along these lines, consider asking yourself: have I really given a proper evaluation to this platform, or am I just acting on emotion? In either case, please do address any concerns you may have, and give our project a proper diligent review. Cheesy

If anyone has any questions, concerns, inquiries please ask away, otherwise I hope to see you all in our slack!

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bittrex / Poloniex / Cryptsy All Coin Trading Software, Quatloo Trader. on: April 17, 2016, 10:26:51 PM
Guys please tell me. The bot starts in a very big minus 1 version Bitrex. Share please profitable settings. Even if the profit will be 10 Satoshi purchase / sale, but it will even be a profit rather than a negative permanent. Please tell me the normal setting for a good a pair.

Stop using the bot immediately. Learn how to trade. The bot is not some mystical turn it on and magically make money machine. If it did that, everyone would use it, and If everyone was making money, where is that money coming from? The bot helps you by automating specific trading tasks, but you need to know what you are doing. If you just leave the bot on buying and selling for you all day, ALL it can do is lose money and you will never make any.

Anyone recall how much this made on it's ICO?

Very little, If I remember correctly there was around 3000 shares at .0035 btc a share. Around 11 BTC in total.

I am not having any issues with Polo api so far today.  Using other software, not QTL.  Just FYI.

other software ? I need QTLtrader alternative.

My offer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=711966.msg14063165#msg14063165 is still valid  Wink

I have concluded I will for sure be making a trader bot, even if for just personal use(although I do fully plan to release it). That being said, it will be weeks before a functioning beta is ready, and probably 2-3 months before it is caught up to the more advanced features either implemented, or previewed as coming soon by the other bots. While I have not used CAT Trader, it seems to have all the auto-trading features QTL Trader does, with more options for customizability, so for anyone looking for an immediate replacement it seems like the obvious choice. I have not really looked into HaasBot but it seems even more extensible but its interface less intuitive to most users. There are other web based platforms such as CryptoTrader which I have not looked into at all. The interface of CAT is much closer to QuatlooTrader so is probably recommended. If your not in a to the minute rush for some reason, I would suggest waiting a couple more days to see if Markus responds to fyr or the community outreach and provides a quick fix, although at this point it doesn't look promising. Otherwise I would get CAT or wait for mine to come out. ;]

Ok so Im starting to see some tweets to Markus from fyrstikken's twitter.

https://twitter.com/fyrstikken

I hope we get this worked out.

If they do not fix it within a few weeks I will release a trader with the same functionality.

I am willing to maintain development of the trader software if Frystikken or someone else has the source to work off.

@papcio77: Just place the private key inside a text file (eg mykey.txt) inside your gexp directory, then run from command line 'gexp account import mykey.txt' , it should ask you for a password (then reask you) to encrypt the key as it stores it (so make sure you remember the pw you enter!)

[10:02]
It would be recommended to delete the mykey.txt since its in plain text

[10:02]
but suggested to store it somewhere safe (or store your new password and the keyfile created by gexp)

> gexp account import mykey.txt
(anonymous): Line 1:6 Unexpected identifier (and 1 more errors)

Gave people the opportunity to generate a white paper ( http://www.exp.rocks/#/ )  but did not give instructions on how the private key and then import. That can not be.

Please make sure the mykey.txt contains ONLY the private key, with no other information and no other characters and no quotes.

We will never give up on exp.

Have fun going down with the ship. This coin was dead the minute the devs thought a 99% premine was a good idea for a copy-paste coin.

I think you should find out a little more before you speak so boldly ;]

Is Expanse still alive. It has been 5 days since the last reply in this thread, and nothing new. Bitcoin's price is rising up fast, and so as most alt coins, but Expanse is still around the same price or probably even cheaper. Are my hopes lost?  Huh

It is very much alive, and just a few days from a lot of big stuff. Cheesy

Is the GUI wallet ready or would it take longer? Also, any idea on how do I make an Expanse paper wallet? Thanks in advance.  Smiley

The GUI has been released ( http://www.expanse.tech/#downloads ) but is not 'ready' as far as is not an official beta release yet -- it is just a development preview, although functional for account/transaction management. I will prepare a guide for a paper/physical wallet.

Custom GUI Wallet Development Preview Release
linux? sources?

A Linux package will be made available shortly. A GitHub repo for the project will be provided in the near future, admittedly this is my first project using QT and the code is currently a little messy, having replaced less efficient methods of implementation with more ideal as I progressed further learning about QT's features. I will be cleaning it up, as well as separating the stable from in development code into separate branches and getting the source out ASAP.

Custom GUI Wallet Development Preview Release
We are proud to announce that the first preview version of the GUI wallet is ready for public testing. This is a development preview release, with intention of providing a demonstration of the early stage software to users to give them a chance to experiment as well as provide input and feedback during its initial development. This is not yet a stable release, so please use at your own risk; It is advised not to be used for managing any critical accounts or funds. The custom wallet features gorgeous graphics, animations, and professional audio. As you would expect from a GUI wallet, current features include managing accounts, sending and viewing transactions, and more. Stylish audio alerts also aid users by letting them know what the wallet is doing. This provides an enjoyable personal touch, making Expanse unique in the world of silent wallets.

The GUI also features an Integrated Console, allowing for access to the command line tools for advanced users in addition to it’s elegant intuitive interface — Making it easy and ideal for anyone to use and get started with. The Expanse wallet is for everyone: simple, unique, and beautiful. Additionally, co-inciding with the Development Preview Release, Expanse has updated the codebase to the latest ethereum protocol. Making Expanse fully up to date, and offering an exceptional visual experience with the GUI wallet that is simple for all to use.

This is only the start, both for the GUI Wallet, and the Expanse Project! The DAO white paper will be released soon, detailing the design and implementation of the organization. Soon to follow will be the live Launch of the DAO, including an integrated management panel directly in the wallet allowing users to participate in managing and creating/voting on issues in an intuitive user friendly way, straight from the GUI.

Wallet Troubleshooting and FAQ:
If the expwallet application opens, the Console tab can be useful for diagnosing issues. Error messages and debugging information should be displayed there when there is connection issues and console output displayed normally. If the application does not open, please state the error displayed.

If this is your first time running expanse, you must agree to the user agreement: You can do this via the console tab, in which the agreement will be displayed if it is your first run/you have not yet accepted it. Enter "Y" in the console to agree if you accept the terms. This must be done before expanse will function on your system.

expwallet is bundled with a copy of gexp. On the windows version, it is included in the zip and is required to be in the same directory as expwallet. On the macintosh version, gexp is bundled inside the application bundle. If you are already running an instance of gexp on the system, expwallet will detect it and attach to it. Note: a copy of gexp must still be placed in the same directory as expwallet, even if attaching to an instance is running from another location.

Known Bugs/Issues:
File Menu & Mac Application Menu’s for wallet do not properly function. Will be resolved in the next release, please close the application via the ‘X” icon in the right hand corner.

Coming Soon/In Development:
Address Book

Why block explorer still can't display individual address txes and found blocks?

The block explorer was built in a day to fill the need for it, and a basic beta version is currently up. A new version will be up un the next few days following todays wallet release.
