1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Galaxycoin Revival! KGW, POS/POW hybrid [TRADING ON CRYPTSY] on: August 19, 2014, 05:48:59 PM
BitJohn just PM'd me informing that the problem had been resolved, so I logged on to Cryptsy to check and confirmed that all three deposits were finally credited.

Well, the price dropped 5 times since May, did he promise any compensations on behalf of cryptsy?

You're absolutely right. I even thought of starting a campaign to demand more from Cryptsy. However, from previous experience (including my experience as a consumer defense activist for over 15 years), I've learned that most people won't leave their comfort zones to participate in this kind of action. Take user ADRIATICon above, for example - he only PM'd BitJohn and posted on the thread that he had done that, but never exposed to the community exactly what happened to his coins. And he is far from being the only one to act like this. Since I have no vocation for martyrdom, I decided to leave it up to each affected user to look after himself, even though that kind of selfish attitude disgusts me.

Thanks, TheIrishman.  Since you "ask", I'll share that, beyond being a Newbie, I am a very small-time miner that is being forced out of mining due to the server farms, increasing difficulty, low profitability, and lack of free time to monitor various "options."  For my small and late posted deposits, Cryptsy eventually threw me some Points after complaining privately to them, and I cannot afford to continue to pursue what is of little reward with anything like litigation. I also suspect others are in the same position I am but don't participate in a forum.  Those with server farms and dedicated staffs can probably carry the mantle much more affordably by taking further action and sharing their experiences for others to benefit from.  Sincerely, good luck.

I've received a private message from BitJohn informing that the problem had been solved, logged on to Cryptsy to check and confirmed that all three deposits were finally credited.

Yeah again sorry for the delay and any issues you had with support. Make sure if anyone else has a GLX deposit to generate a new address.

Um what other coins. I assure you Id be glad to help if you pm me. Did you put in a ticket?

I sent you another PM as well. Thanks.

Why would Cryptsy have to compensate for the price drop?

Because the GLX could have (should have!) been sold in May at 5 times its current value.

My GLX is finally there as well, but worthless almost.  That leaves them to post my other altcoin deposit from months ago.

Appreciate it I have to get with paul and figure out whats up with that coin. As long as they are in the chain and there is not a fork or something along those lines I should have a fix for all. I know its crypto but give me 24-48 hours to figure it out we will probably have to build an explorer for it.

I appreciate what you're doing and understand the problem, BitJohn. What I'm unable to understand is why I have been ignored by your support staff for over 20 days and had to resort to posting on a public forum to get things happening.

Not sure but Ill find out Smiley

It's not just GLX.  I PM'd you more info.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PENG] Penguincoin - Vote for Cryptsy! on: August 06, 2014, 03:28:34 PM
Penguincoin is in desperate need of an Exchange, can i please have your views on which exchanges i should contact?

All votes for Cryptsy are greatly appreciated and you can cast your vote here: https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes

What other exchanges?  Cheesy
Listed on swisscex and allcoin still.

Market disabled on swisscex, allcoin has sell orders only. Still, it's better than nothing.

edit: actually it looks like PENG is going to be delisted from allcoin in a couple of days. https://www.allcoin.com/news/12349.html

Now is the time for the dev to take action. It's going to be easier to lobby to keep trading a coin on an exchange (or re-enable the market) than go through all the hard work of getting a "new" one listed, right?
You need to read better. Allcoin is keeping the LTC market and the swisscex LTC market is open

I guess I am concerned with this AllCoin sentence:
  "Saved until 2014-08-09 due to developer/community intervention, these wallets will be closed on 2014-08-09"
particularly the word "wallet."

Edit: In a separate communication with AllCoin, they confirmed that they "have to de-list" PENG as "nobody buy it."
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Galaxycoin Revival! KGW, POS/POW hybrid [TRADING ON CRYPTSY] on: July 22, 2014, 10:11:43 PM

Been nearly two weeks now. I'm expecting it to be credited any day now. Probably just needs some more confirms. 6 obviously aint enough.

I wish.

After about 1.5 months and 60,000 to 70,000 confirmations for my sets of transfers, my coin disappeared from Pending right after I confirmed their independent inquiry that the problem still existed.  They still haven't shown up anywhere.  The last transfer currently shows almost 70,000 as well now.  (I suppose it would be less painful to just hear that the GLX was stolen, rather than see it dragged out this long.)  Looks like around 100 satoshi per GLX back at the time of transfer and now 23.

Only 10 days??? You are lucky Smiley ...... i'm still waiting for 2 months for my PHS and all that i get is only "apologies"

I'm at about 1.5 months right now on one of my other coins and have just transitioned from being on the Pending list (around 70k confirms) to now being in the land of the lost after offering apologies and also asking me for an update.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Galaxycoin Revival! KGW, POS/POW hybrid [TRADING ON CRYPTSY] on: June 22, 2014, 11:46:58 PM
Confirm. Old transactions have been deposited and new one is passed to Cryptsy smoothly right now.

Great work!

No:

Code:
Date			Type	DepositAddress				Amount		Confirmations
2014-05-21 08:45:30 GLX giNMJkKbSdK2Tbp3uE2RDXYGBae3UTuKDg 56488.37500000 1588

Hmm, when we thought we had it all figured out.  Undecided

SolidStateSurvivor,
Did you 5/21 transfer go through yet? I have a few on 6/1 past 42k confirms now still in pending with no recent updates to my ticket by Cryptsy. (I wonder if they might be working on other tickets with larger confirm amounts such as another of mine with a different coin now over 100k confirms and not yet showing in pending.)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][THOR] THORCOIN | ASIC RESISTANT | PoS | Join the THOR Community! on: June 07, 2014, 08:07:17 PM

Also there is an exchange that supports Thorcoin linked in below. I have posted on their forum about this update and sent a PM to their mods but have not heard back from them. As far as I know this is the only exchange that supports Thorcoin so it is vital that they update their client.

https://www.scificryptoexchange.com/#/trade/exchange/31

Comkort and Europex also support Thorcoin. I will send them emails to let them know.

Off one of their web pages:

Info! Europex is unlisting THOR . Please cancel your orders and withdraw your coins before Sunday 8th June 20h00 UTC, else your coins will be destroyed.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TomPool][Multipool - SHA256 & Scrypt - DEM/GLD/GME/MNC/UNO/ZET...] on: March 21, 2014, 12:29:19 AM
Sorry I have so many messages a day its hard to keep track of them all with the time I have.

Looking at your ANC account I see you've been credited, however your auto payout threshold is above your account balance. There isn't anything wrong with the ANC pool but the ANC network can sometimes be slow to confirm blocks.

As for GLX if you've taken a look at the main TomPool site or forum you've probably seen the pools wallets experiencing problems. More specifically it can't even start because it throws an exception and crashes, I'm doing what I can to restore it but at this stage I haven't been successful and the GLX dev has thrown in the towel.

Any update on applying the Dev Team's new GLX wallet, including using their instructions? Other pools and Cryptsy have cut over already. May not be optimal for auto-switching, but works for dedicated miners so far it seems.

No one is mining on my Galaxycoinpool - despite being one of the first (well second) to use the new fork.

http://glx.verters.com

Let me know if I should just take it down and save myself the effort of supporting this coin.

Please, leave it up.

I'll see if I can get some hash your way

Sending some as well now.

They sure did; Network hashrate is now at 1.09~ GH/s according to my pool software.
I'm guessing Tom's pool

Nah my pools hashrate is nothing like that, is there a block explorer? This very moment I'm at block 249841, I'd like to make sure I'm on the right chain as I'm not too sure I am!

On another pool, I'm seeing the last block found as 256000.

Thanks to all for their help!

Updating main post!

great! Smiley I believe Cryptsy must have been informed by now. Smiley

Cheers!
Soopy

I do see a small test deposit going into Cryptsy from my Windows 8.1 client in Pending status, 0 confirmations there and 22 in the Windows client. I have a ticket open with Cryptsy in case it gets "stuck" again.

Cryptsy's response:

"Thank you for contacting us about this issue. Please give it 24hours for
deposit to show due to high volume of deposits. Let me know
when your deposit has gone thru. Thank you kindly for your patience
and understanding."

We need more hosts for addnodes for everyone.

To host, AFTER you verified you are on the latest fork!

You just need this galaxycoin.conf and have port 15521 open to the world

Code:
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=**Yourusername**
rpcpassword=**Yourpassword**
rpcport=15522
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
addnode=71.4.209.204

You can also add verified addnodes to your config later.
The client works with that single connect= entry in the .conf and your .zip file, BUT as soon as you change anything like trying to run it with daemon=1 or server=1 options it crashes again with the exception runaway error....

Still works fine on Windows 8.1 at least.

Instructions for downloading the new client and syncing to the latest fork:

http://galaxypool.chriskoeber.com/NewClientInstructions.mp4

Worked for me. Thanks.

No problem, be sure not to leave your galaxycoin.conf file as is and read the above posts about it...

I waited for a block to come in before that and then did that and saw more blocks come in successfully afterwards as well.

Unfortunately all attempts fail so far, when trying to use the downloaded blockchain it throws the above mentioned error, als redownloaded it and the same happens, on a clean install of the windows client it also stops at block 18924, exactly the same problem as the linux galaxycoind......

I will try this myself on a separate computer and see how it goes.

From there I will see what instructions need to be added or changed.

FYI--I also just tried after a full Windows 8.1 system reboot to the same error.
       Run As Adminstrator also didn't help.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN] Galaxycoin Revival!-FORK AT BLOCK 255145, KGW, RANDOM BLOCK REWARDS, on: March 13, 2014, 04:41:19 PM
Not yet.. Overnight my computer restarted to "install updates", thanks windows..

Well, looks like you need to contact the exchanges and coinwars today Smiley

For the time being you should modify the addnodes on the original post to only use my node for now.
I am still having issues with the galaxycoind that gets stuck on block 18924, I already deleted everything and started a clean blockchain download using connect=your ip address in the .conf to avoid getting other nodes, any ideas ?

I have the same issue with the new windows client. When I try the blockchain download, I receive
"A fatal error occured. Galaxycoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.
EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error
CDB() : can't open database file blkindex.dat, error 22"

followed by "galaxycoin-qt.exe in Runaway exception."

20  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Stolen from Poloniex on: March 05, 2014, 04:44:02 PM
KDC wallet on Poloniex is broken, needs update.

I sent 2 orders and none of them arrived (26 hours ago and 2 hours ago).

Check KDC forum topic for news, its there. Update ASAP.
