Grin Grin Grin

Хахах я так с эфиром плакал когда-то  Grin

Ah great! Which of those do you think I should download, given that I have Windows Server 2003 x32 ?
10  Other / Beginners & Help / guiminer - only CPU miner shows up on: July 06, 2011, 06:58:45 AM
- I am running a windows 2003 server with a ATI Radeon 7000

- I installed the "OpenCL Driver" from http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_xp-32.aspx

- When I launch guiminer.exe the only OpenCL device I see is this:

[0-0] Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.0

Is this what I should be seeing or should there be a GPU in the options as well?

If so, how can I make it appear?

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoins not showing up after withdrawal from TradeHill to my address? on: June 25, 2011, 03:45:16 PM
Hi, yesterday morning I sent money to my local BTC address from TradeHill.

On TH it now says the transfer is completed but the amount doesn't show up when I pull up my local Bitcoin app.

I contacted TH last night about this but haven't heard back from them as of yet.

Am I missing something?

Re. my experience: I work in IT as an entrepreneur and mostly have experience with LAMP servers, PHP, MySQL, Wordpress, shell scripting and some ajax/js coding.

Wordpress?  Have you built any wordpress sites using WP e-Commerce?  There is a growing need for people who can provide assistance to Wordpress users who wish to add Bitcoin as a payment option to their ecommerce site.

  Here's a gateway

Awesome, I'll get right on that then Smiley Thanks so much!!
14  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / How can I be useful to the community? on: June 11, 2011, 06:21:19 PM
Hi, I am fascinated by the concept and I would like to do whatever I can programatically to support the project.

Re. my experience: I work in IT as an entrepreneur and mostly have experience with LAMP servers, PHP, MySQL, Wordpress, shell scripting and some ajax/js coding. Our software facilitates live real time auctions which we do in a very light weight thin client environment via a flash bridge that allows for TCP/IP connections OR HTML5 Websockets, if the user's browser permits it.

I also have an account at Experts Exchange through work so I can post tough questions on there if needed, which has helped me out many times actually.

So this is just a post to ask if I can be of any help in general as I familiarize myself with the technology. =)

Best regards,
EJ
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Nobel economist Krugman on bitcoin and crypto-currencies. on: June 11, 2011, 04:51:29 AM
And by the way, I think you have a cartoonish view of Keynes.  One reason why I lean more towards Keynesianism than other schools is because it acknowledges that there is no such thing as a perfectly rational Homo economicus.  Coupled with information asymmetries in markets, this means that a pure market-lead economy will result in sub-optimal global outcomes.

Interesting, maybe you know more than I do, and I always thought I had read a lot of Austrian literature.

Could you maybe just point out real quick a paragraph that is representative of the Austrian School where it says that all humans are what you call "perfectly rational" (I'm not even sure what that is supposed to mean so maybe that's another thing that you could help me understand) ?
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Nobel economist Krugman on bitcoin and crypto-currencies. on: June 11, 2011, 04:44:04 AM
Nevertheless, my opinion is that when eventually Economics does become a science it is more likely to resemble Keynesianism than the Austrian school so favoured by this forum's hivemind.

That is quite a fascinating statement to make.

Aside from the fact that you seem to assert that a field of study is not a science so long as YOU don't declare it one, would you care to share how you arrived at this conclusion?

What empirical and logical (=scientific) criteria did you apply to both those schools in order to infer that the Keynesians' theories are more accurate than the Austrians'?
