I did some vertcoin mining while WafflePool was being DDoS'd, and I am planning to stay long on vertcoin for now - I think it's likely to do quite well as scrypt ASIC power ramps up.  Already, vertcoin is consistently more profitable to mine then LTC by my calculations (and we are still at the very beginning of the scrypt ASIC era).

Where is it possible to sell the new scrypt n coins ?

And if you don't mind saying where are you mining Vertcoin ?

(Edit nevermind looks like Vertcoin is on Cryptsy)

Can scrypt n coins be mined on a pool like this ?
during DDOS, I tried script-n. can not be parallel to mine and then it requires individual settings. perhaps in time we need to convince, pw, another pool on a script-n.

Yeh I was just reading it can't be mined alongside normal script coins on a pool, And there's not enough of them for a multicoin pool yet, At least I don't think.

Well lets hope they take off and we soon see a new Wafflepool address with script n coins.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blackcoin and why it could be really big // Intro to Blackcoin on: March 25, 2014, 10:22:16 AM
So what your saying is , This coin can't be mined because a load of early adopters jumped in a rinsed the shit out of it, Taking a ton of coins, Which we can now be paid back with for mining 24-7 on Alt coins ! lol this is a joke.

I hope nobody buys any of these coins.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: March 15, 2014, 08:32:14 PM
that may be true, but I have bills to pay now unfortunately, currently, with the rig I have, the LTC I bought (stupidly high) in November, the deposit (and eventual full amount) for the Alpha, and electricity bills, I am about 10k invested in this, and so far I have mined 1 BTC, 2200 UTC and 10 LTC, so I am looking at getting out while I can with what I can, and from here on out I will day trade instead, I love the idea behind crypto and would like to gain some, but I feel I can do a better job at trading than I can at mining, it's a shame, as I enjoy it, will see what happens with the Alpha I guess, I'll still be sunk deep with that purchase, but £6.5k is better than 10k, lol.

I wouldn't let the rig go, Find somewhere else to plug it in.

If only I could, it's a big, noisy, very warm thing, and electricity in our house is 16p/ killowatt hour, which means £11.52 per day in running costs.
If I could plug it in for free power, I would be more than happy to keep it going to be honest, can I bring it round yours? :p

We'll looking at the current state of affairs I might not be far behind you, I have been away for 11 days and mining has fallen on its arse. I paid roughy £100 on my bill last month for mine and it's only 1.8 Mh/s so yours isn't that bad

Anyways getting back on topic does anyone rank any other pool more than Wafffle ?

An option to payout in BC would be nice.

You mean the electric company ?  Grin

it's listed, yeah, The Alpha thing is not even released for 4 months yet, but I have been making more through trading wisely than I have been mining, so it seems daft to continue doing something that is costing me money, maybe it is just bad luck, but 0.03 per day from a 5.5 MH/s rig is about equal to how much I am spending on electricity, I could just spend the cash on coins each day and play the market with them instead.

You don't know how much a single Bitcoin is going to be worth in a year, You might be earning £100 a day and not know it yet, That's the way I like to look at it.

Teamviewer work on Windows 8.1 ?

Yes, that's what I use

Cool, Thanks for the info, Don't suppose you know if teamviewer hits the gpu at all ? Because I know TightVNC is supposed to not affect it, I don't have integrated graphics so it's not an option.

Perhaps slightly off topic, but just wanted to check if anyone's come across this...

My main PC (this one I'm reading this forum from) uses Windows 7 SP1, and cgminer 3.7.2 with CGWatcher.  It all works fine, but recently I switched to using Chrome (having used Firefox before), and have now noticed that whenever I maximise (or have it open in a window - not maximised) Chrome, my hash-rate drops significantly.  Normally, it's at around 745 Kh/s, and with Chrome on top, it drops to about 680-700.  Minimise Chrome (or shut it down) and the hash rate goes straight back up, nearly instantly.  It's repeatable, and it's definitely Chrome affecting the hash rate.  I haven't noticed this with Firefox, but the reason I switched to Chrome was my tabs-fetish was getting out of hand (I was using groups in Firefox, and had something like 40-50 tabs open per group and about 5-6 groups, yes, I know, insane  Roll Eyes).  So now I'm trying a tab-diet, and have only about 20 tabs open in Chrome, but it's doing this weird thing.

Has anyone come across anything like this, anyone here specifically uses Chrome and CGWatcher/cgminer, and can perhaps do a quick test?

Weirdly, I googled this, and found a couple of threads on other forums where people were experiencing THE EXACT OPPOSITE issue, in that their hashing rate INCREASED when they had Chrome open, and would drop with it minimised or closed.

 Huh

P.S.  Waffle, you rock. Smiley

If your intensity is high you will see a drop doing anything, If you want to use it while mining drop the intensity.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: March 06, 2014, 07:39:35 AM
you dont have anything setup to remote control the box?

I had TightVNC on a Windows 7 machine working great, But for some reason Windows 8.1 on that machine doesn't like it and black screens every time I tried

Why not call a friend and ask them to check in on your place to see if it is secure.

When you get home buy an IPcam and install it where you can see your rig, so that you can log onto it from your phone to look in your place to see if all is ok for when you are away next. You can set them up to record and have motion detection also.

Buy and install a motion detection alarm that calls you from a cheap mobile phone if anyone enters your home while you are away.

Order yourself a pizza for delivery and wait to see if they call back to say no answer, whats going on ? If after an hour there is no call you should call the pizza place back and say where is my pizza. If they say it was delivered and paid for then some one is in your home eating a pizza probably.

You can do the same with a taxi / cab,

Call your landlord to say you had a call saying you had been broken in to, you have called the police could he go and wait for them to arrive .

May be your rig is just malfunctioning, or the place is on fire because it overheated and the building is burning down.

I would not worry too much if you had been broken in to I am sure you would of had a call by now, and the insurance will pay for you a brand new rig in that event or if there has been a fire.

I thought about quite a lot of what you said but couldn't really set up most of it due to the place being a temporary living space, So stupidly took a risk.

i bet your gf's mother planned all this. she lured you away from your rig with her doughter and a moment you turned away, distracted - all your money belong to them. oo

I'm sure you're right Cheesy

I don't think if somebody took your rig then turn it on and mine with it...
Most likely a malfunction. System reboots continuously and sometimes got a minute to mine before that. Or a card failing and cgwatcher restarts it. Something like that.
Next time use something like Teamviewer. That's a nice remote app that needs no port forwarding, only a few clicks to run. I even use it from my Android phone.

No I don't think anyone would purposely mine with it, It's set up to start automatically when the power cuts etc, So if they took it elsewhere and booted it, Then it will start mining straight away.

Teamviewer work on Windows 8.1 ?

For the future, use something like VNC or http://www.splashtop.com/ to log in remotely.  I use splashtop to log in from my phone from home to check on the miners.

For several days one of my miners was crashing at 9:0am ever day.  CGwatcher wasnt even restarting it.  I had to log in a give it a kick to get working again.  no clue what the problem was.

Thing is I've been monitoring the rig everyday for weeks/months and it's stable as fuck, Never overheated or crashed , It's reliable which is why I know something's wrong. But I hope you're right.

I have a rather strange request, I'm away from the place I left my rig and I set it all up correctly left it all night running cool, Then I had to go visit my gf family which is 1300km away , I checked the hash rate before I slept at a hotel and it was still running, After I woke hash rate is zero and had been more or less straight after I slept , Then sudden bursts here and there later in the day, Now my guesses are, Electric failed? Already asked and that's not the case because it's a big complex and the owner told me it's working, Internet is down ? She said it's not, And why sudden bursts of hashing ? I don't really trust the owner of the place, I'm pretty sure somebody has broken in and taken my rig , Is there anyway to see the IP address of where it mined last ? Which ISP ?, I have two servers for Wafflepool set up as failover so it should be running.

Anyway here's my btc address all help is very welcome because I'm worried and also gutted to think it might be gone 17irVYRJxWNP8ocYm3zPMYiNKbssd5xfNm

Hope somebody has a suggestion apart from the obvious go back and look  Huh

My WU are 820/750/710
2.5MH in total
6.5% reject
2.1MH shown at site :/

learn the math Smiley

u got 2280 in total not 2.5.
2280 - 6.5% rejeccted x 2280 = 2131.8 = 2.1Mh/s.

It ok now?
Learn read Wink
WU is 2280. Hashrate is 2500

But you're right. The calculation seems to be based on WU not hashrate. But why is it so low at clevermine?  Cry
I think the coins are switching too fast. Network diff is jumping up and down twice a minute.

It's ok you're not the only one who has seen 25% hash rate vanish all of a sudden, I'm switching back to Waffle, Earnings have been awful and the site is massively under reporting hash rate.

Confirming for Hashcows. Been mining a few days there already, and it says I only have 0.00171077BTC, with 830KH/s.
Going back to waffle for now.

How many days ?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: March 03, 2014, 02:04:18 PM
Today another 0.00706058 per BTC / 1MH. Is this normal??

0.007 is becoming pretty normal this days...

For every pool? Or just Waffle?

http://poolpicker.eu/text.php

I would take poolpicker with a pinch of salt because I was mining on Hashcows for 10 hours and earned barely anything, Clevermining is slightly better but not by much

Need some help!

I've been mining DOGE for a while but I want to switch to this pool. However, I'm having trouble getting it to work. When I start up cgminer in BAMT, it says "waiting for work to be available from pools" for a few seconds then terminates. Any idea on what I may have done wrong? All I had to change in my config file was the pool right?
What is your config

{ "pools" : [ { "url" : "stratum+tcp://useast.wafflepool.com:3333", "user" : "bitcoin adrress", "pass" : "hi" } ] , "intensity" : "19", "vectors" : "1", "worksize" : "256", "kernel" : "scrypt", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "24000", "shaders" : "0", "api-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-threads" : "1", "gpu-engine" : "1150", "gpu-memclock" : "1500", "gpu-powertune" : "20", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "30", "scrypt" : true, "shares" : "0", "no-submit-stale" : true, "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin", "auto-fan" : true, "auto-gpu" : true, "temp-target" : "70", "temp-cutoff" : "77", "temp-overheat" : "90" }

No submit stale isn't needed, I submit stale shares on my machine and they get accepted quite often.

Did you find the problem ?

I've been getting stratum disconnects recently ...

Yeh only constantly, That and the fact I earned 0.0001 for 10 hours hashing means I'm off, Thanks Hashcows
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: March 02, 2014, 03:41:04 PM
Hello all,

I joined just today because I finally know what I want to say to you guys. I've been following this thread since the hack. I joined probably a day before-hand, so I didn't lose much. I have to say, I have had next to no issues with these guys after they've gotten it back up and running. Payouts are always as scheduled, unless the coins get stuck and can't be traded quickly, which is always announced here. Any issues with the site were always mentioned here, usually pretty quickly. Still, there are so many people who come here, complain, and badmouth the Hashcows guys, and it irritates me, because they're always so good about everything.

Anyway, the past couple days, as well as this week, have been pretty awesome. I don't know exactly how much time I've been running, but I know I'm usually running about 500 khash/s when i'm not on my computer, and around 200 khash/s when I'm using it. My past three payouts were 0.00235 BTC, 0.00352 BTC, and 0.00612 BTC. They all came at around the same time every day, 11:23 EST, for the past three days.

Now, for all you guys getting mad about no payouts, I definitely don't have an answer for you because I'm no expert, and I've been getting my payouts just fine. But I think you should check all your settings on Hashcows, make sure you have a BTC address for them to send the coins to, and make sure your Bitcoin wallet is up to date. Sometimes mine gets out of sync and I have to close it down and open it back up to catch it up to where it's supposed to be. Also, the balances only update once a day. The confirmed exchanged balance is what's gonna move to your balance at the end of the day, and the unexchanged balance (which sometimes doesn't work correctly) is how many coins you're expected to get once they're traded.

There's no reason to get all angry and grumpy, not everyone is having the issues you are. Try emailing support as well if you feel like you aren't getting the answers you like here on the forums.

Peace and love y'all. Smiley

Great that you say that and I agree you have to be patient, But it's not just one or two people, I've got the issues too, No accepted shares and no balance , My hash rate is fine more or less

Hashrate : 0...

Problem with the stats page I think as I am still submitting shares, no real problem.

By the way, thank you waffle for the pool !

Getting the same.

Glad to see I'm not the only one same issue
