the game is still fun without having to put 100+ eth in btw Cheesy
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Crypto Assault - Eth game - whale opportunity? on: April 04, 2019, 12:10:15 PM
There is a new game that come out last month called Crypto Assault.

In this game you buy units that are on the Ethereum blockchain as tokens. You can then place these units onto a map and take land. Depending on how much land you have you get paid out in eth that comes from a % of the new units being purchased. Every few days a satellite falls on a random bit of land and it gives a load of eth to whoever owns that land. Also, for the next month a portion of the pre-sale money is getting distributed back to those who have land and to the satellites.

The land value is not all the same. The closer you are able to get to the center of the map the more the land is valued at. The centre is worth considerably more than the outside of the map.

The current state of the game is that a player has come in with other 100 eth and monopolized many tokens/taken the middle of the map. The way things are he is almost gauranteed to take most of the pre-sale distrbution. However, there is possibily an oppositunity for others to come in with enough eth to compete with him. The game has been pretty low key so far so I doubt many have seen this 'opportunity'. There are obviously risks involved esp considering the game is so new. The devs have been in the gaming industry for quite some time and have a couple of recognizable games behind them (not blockchain games). I do not know what they will do with the game if anything more... it's possible they could even abondon it... but I hope not and actually expect some interesting developments in the future.

Anyway, like I said if enough people or another big player entered the game it could atleast make things very interesting and has the chance to be profitable too.

I have put a (referral) link below incase this message catches anyones eye Smiley Main goal of this post is to get some more people into the game... referal would just be a bonus Wink Cheers!

Guys.... why are we seeing posts from people offering help to convert old wallets?

We should have a way of doing this ourselves.

Sending off wallets files or accepting downloads from people is very risky...

PLEASE PROVIDE A  WAY FOR US TO ACCESS OUR OLD COINS FROM V1 WITHOUT HAVING TO PM PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES!!!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TOPCOIN (v3) - Scrypt POW/50% POS Hybrid - Coin Control on: February 12, 2018, 07:43:42 PM
Hi,

Please could you provide the old wallet programs and/or provide a way that we can convert the old wallets.dat to work with the new wallet program.

No point getting everyone to PM you individually!

Cheers!

Use whattomine.com to find profitability.

3% is high for mining from a pool... it is usually 1%.

Looks like you are mining eth from the hashrate (which is about the right hashrate)... I use dwarfpool but there maybe other better ones out there nowadays.

Have you got another gpu to try?

My 1st thought would be possible dud GPU.

All i get is:

(ERROR)(16/04/2017)  You must use the default api port at your miner.
(ERROR)(16/04/2017)  Miner log file doesn't exits.
(ERROR)(16/04/2017)  HardwareMonitor log file doesn't exits.

Over and over!

Assuming this is at least partly due to the bug mentioned in above post?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH failure on: February 23, 2017, 09:38:15 PM
FYI the keystore folder is in the ethereum folder in appdata that you deleted.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH failure on: February 23, 2017, 09:23:41 PM
If you delete the complete contents of your appData Bitcoin folder... you would also lose your Bitcoin unless you had backed it up as that is where the wallet.dat file is (which is your 'key' to the bitcoin).

Like any cypto it is your responsibility to ensure you understand the tech enough and realize that you are personally responsible for looking after it.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adding a 480 to a 280x rig? on: January 07, 2017, 04:09:52 PM
Friend uses the 16.04 driver will work.
Here I have 5x 280x and 1x 470 works the normal 6 cards

So the AMDGPU-PRO driver will work with the 280x's for mining on 16.04?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Adding a 480 to a 280x rig? on: January 07, 2017, 02:38:10 PM
Hi,

One of my rigs currently has two 280x's and a 390x. It runs using ubuntu 14.04 and drivers provided by AMD.

I need to replace one of the 280x's (fans failing) and I am considering the 480.

I am confused about which operating system I would use for the mix of GPU's (1x480, 1x390x & 1x280x) as it appears AMD only provide 480 drivers for 16.04. 280x drivers (and I think 390x drivers) are not available for 16.04.

Does anyone know if the 480 would run fine with the current AMD driver I am using for the 390x & 280x on 14.04?

If not, what options do I have to get the system working?

Thanks In advance!!

One of my GPUs shows "returned incorrect data" it's shappire 290x 8gb RAM 2 others 290x with 4gbs are ok. Anyone knows why?

 Reduce the intensity.
I have the same issue on one of my R9 280x, that was the only cure that worked.

Confirmed here too... also get the same issue on one of my 280x's.

want to lose this card(about 500$) for 48$ in month and wondering: How long can live this card 24/7 doing minning with 85 degree C ?
What is your environment temperature (where the card is installed)?

22 degree in the room, but PC in the usual case w/o cooling , may be I have to open it better and do minning w/o cover?

Better to put some quality fans in the case to get a good airflow. I've got an open rig and a closed rig in the same room... the closed rig stays cooler with 3 corsair case fans blowing 'fresh' air round.

Also... no problems with mobo... I always stick to decent corsair psu's... like to think decent psu helps
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the average life of a mining rig? on: September 29, 2016, 09:12:34 PM
Got some 280x's still going for almost 3 years 24/7 temp 80 degrees 70% fan. Fans did stiffen up after about 2 years... I just spray some wd40 in them carefully when it happens and they are good as new again!

Ps. Wd40 is not recommended I belive machine oil is but... I've not had any problems so far... just made sure I didn't use too much so it would leak or get it on the gpu board.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Yes you can finally mine Ethereum on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on: July 10, 2016, 01:28:13 PM
If anyone interested, i will release Simple Plug adn Mine OS in 24h.
It is mainly for RX 480 but 3xx and 2xx will also work.
Still overclocking doesnt work Smiley

This looks interesting but the fee is too high for me.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.0.6 on: April 15, 2016, 06:01:32 PM
I can build this to work on linux? Any instructions on how to do this anywhere? Thanks in advance Smiley

I'm working on a new README.md. Almost there. For now, check out he knowledge base on ethpool. It has build instructions for my miner.

I finally got DAG chunking working today. Not that it's really required now that the right AMD environment vars have been found. If there happens to be demand for it anyway, please let me know so I can implement it in a clean way that doesn't hurt the non-chunked version. Because on AMD chunking does negatively affect performance.

Thanks I found the instructions for compiling on ubuntu Smiley
