Dear Collegicoiners,
It is with great sadness that I advise I must step down from administrative duties for our coin. I realize that while I have a great passion for this project, the project itself has evolved beyond my capabilities. As many of you know I am an adjunct professor who isn’t involved in programming at all. In fact, my experience is in Communication. Because of this, I felt like in order for the project to survive, and in fact thrive, it was important to turn it over to people who have a much better understanding of marketing and development of cryptocurrency projects.
Although I am turning the administrative and decision making of the coin over to MonetaCLG, I will still be a part of the coin. I’ll be a user of it just like many of you. I will continue to mine, trade, and use CLG wherever it will be made available.
Today, the website, Discord channel, Twitter account, Github account, and any other aspect of the coin has been turned over to Moneta and his team. I can assure you I have total faith in his abilities as he has proven himself as a strong crypto enthusiast with much more experience than I.
I do this because I care about the coin. I hope none of you take this as a negative, as I believe it can only be a positive. It’s important for administrators to know their limitations in any industry, let alone crypto, and I have reached mine.
Please join me in supporting the new development team for Collegicoin. I am very excited to see CLG grow!

FORK done / New wallets (including MacOS and Linux ARM)
THE TIME HAS COME!!!! The new wallets are finally here. Please note that we are still working on some final things, so this change to get everything swapped will be phased in over the next week or so. The new wallets are ready, and can be downloaded on our website: http://www.collegicoin.com/#wallets. If you notice, the Windows 64 bit wallet isn't ready as we need to finish compiling it. It will hopefully be available sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, if you have 64 bit windows, you can use the 32 bit version. We still are working to get the pools back online, so for the time being you can only solo mine.
To solo mine, go to the debug console and type setgenerate true. If you want to select the number of cores/threads, just type setgenerate true #, with # being the number of cores/threads you wish you use.
We hope to have the coin swap website up within the next few days, and hope to have Graviex back up in the next week or so. Graviex will be swapping coins out for anyone who is holding them in their Graviex account.
We know there are still some things to be finished, but hope this shows the hard work the team has been putting in behind the scenes.

Special Announcement about the upcoming fork As most of you are aware, the CLG project has had some challenges from the beginning due to issues with the code. We have been hard at work over the last few weeks to try and resolve these problems without much success. Therefore, we have made the decision to restart the chain with new code so we can put the past behind us, but don't worry, as you will still get credit for coins that already exist.
A snapshot of the CLG chain will take place on September 16th at 5PM UTC. Any blocks mined after that time will not be valid. A new chain, wallet, explorer, and coin swap site will be announced after the snapshot. All coins on the current chain must be swapped for the new CLG coins. The coin swap will expire October 16th at 5PM UTC. Any coins not swapped by that point will be considered invalid. |

Discord doesn't work. No masternode guide. MNO is showing ? for their stats. The only thing that's up is the website. Does anyone know if this coin is still living?

For Collegicoin, to help students earn passive income and solve the problem of tuition or they can use these coins at online facilities such as textbook rental companies, school bookstore and School supplies ... are a great thing. But in order to do so, the project needs close cooperation with universities and online shopping facilities. Did you do this well?
We will. We are working on our mobile wallet and app now. We have to have something to offer them. Slow growth is where it's at for us. We need everything in place before anyone can expect to have universities on board yet. That's why we're also starting with online textbook companies. |

Great questions! We just launched on June 27th so we're still in the early stages. We just got listed on Graviex today. We really like them because they are easy to use and they are now accepting fiat deposits. For bookstores, we can't go out to market ourselves until we have a good coin supply out there. Right now we're working on additional exchanges, masternode advertising, and developing our mobile wallet. Check out the roadmap on our website for more info. I can tell you (as a professor at a university) that we're getting a lot of good looks our way from students and administrators. So that's a good thing to have in our back pocket! :-) |

You will put it in the wallet configuration file. Click on Tools at the top of the wallet and then "Open wallet configuration file." Save the file after adding that info and then restart your wallet.

what if the collegicoin has little value when you award the scholarship coins? is the allotted number of coins fixed for that or will change depending on the current market value?
We currently have it set to award the same number of coins a masternode would cost. This would remain constant. We're very willing to change this amount if the value isn't enough to benefit the recipients. |

Hi Nemesissan, I think that's partly why people think it's not going to be a high ROI coin. We're ok with that. We are trying to make sure we're growing slowly and organically as opposed to being a super high ROI coin that people start dumping like crazy, crash the price, and it fizzles out to nothing. We'd rather it have slow growth with steady returns for our investors (students, miners, and masternode holders). I think with our plan we will do just that. Its not a high roi coin (thank god) so hopefully this will be a sweet project to join.
